Also surprisingly it was not as far from the centre as I imagined, a beautiful walk alongside the lake, then a short walk across the park to Tram line 6 or to the train station. I imagine most people staying here would take taxis, but for those who have saved for a special treat, that it is accessible by public transport may be useful info. There is a fair at night in the park, far away enough not to hear it, but close enough to walk, which my daughter loved. The fitness rooms & spa area are fantastic! 3 floors & superbly designed with views onto the park. Swimming outside in a heated pool in the rain was a very special experience. Bremen is such a lively, historically interesting city. From the river and it's busy maritime activity to the cool, green spaces of its many parks there is so much to enjoy. Touring the Mercedes Benz factory or visiting the outstanding Emigration Museum in Bremerhaven or taking a tour of the mediaeval Town Hall. Bremen is quite small with a few attractions. It's easy to visit everything in a day. Apart from the old town, Bremen seems to be quite rough though so you wouldn't want to linger. Good point is that it's just a couple of hours from Hamburg and Cuxhaven, which can be visited as day trips. We enjoyed walking around the harbour but we bought a boat trip and the address on the ticket was the office of the company not the departure so we missed the boat! Please be careful and see if you have the correct address. Bremen is a good weekend hangout place. Obviously, depends on the company you are with, the weather, and the place you chose to spend your nights in. Two excellent museums, especially the maritime only a seven minute walk from apartment. Separately a WW II restored U Boat. Very nice small zoo plus Klima Haus, a major attraction.
