The property is wonderful, and the staff was absolutely amazing. I flew into Bremen to meet up with friends to head to Wacken Open Air, which is about 2 hours away. I was initially only supposed to be there for a night, but had to extend due to weather. The staff happily dealt with me lingering around asking for late checkouts whilst waiting for the updates to find out if I needed to go extend every day or not.

The hotel/hostel was really well looked after. It looked clean, fresh and new. The bed was really comfy. In the four person dorm room they also had a bathroom. The kitchen area was small, but had everything to cook a meal. Lovely seating area to eat/socialise in. Great distance from the train station. Quiet rooms, despite proximity to train tracks. Towels provided in the dorm rooms.

It was quiet and it was easy to park. We got in pretty late so didn’t enjoy much about the property. However, we did have some breakfast at the cafe at the lobby before we headed out which was nice. The room was pretty chic and modern. I love the design. The room was comfortable. The staff were nice.

The whole place was such a beauty. It's by the river with wonderful view. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff are helpful. Parking space is also nearby. What a pity we stayed there only 1 night.

This was our fourth stay at The Hotel Zum Kuhhirten in Bremen, our preferred hotel whenever we pass through Bremen during our annual Germany holiday. The rooms are bright and modern with very comfortable beds and they serve an excellent breakfast. Their staff deserve a special mention as every single one, from the very accommodating lady at reception to the very helpful gentleman serving breakfast, goes above and beyond to make their guests' stay as enjoyable as possible. The location is simply wonderful, tucked away on a little peninsula close to the old town surrounded by allotments and beautiful river landscapes. Our kids always enjoy a splash on the river beach which is safe as quite shallow, there is also a lovely little playground to keep them busy. We also like to enjoy the food and the river view at the nearby Cafe Sand, the ferry travelling across the river right by the cafe is always a highlight.

Bremerhaven has an outstanding Museum about the migration of thousands of people who left Germany and Europe in general to travel to the USA etc last century. Well worth a visit. There's also a shipping museum and a small museum about the Cog ship. Excellent.

I've been to Bremen plenty of times in the past as there used to be direct flights from Manchester. Now you have to go via Hamburg and then get a few trains. This time I tried KLM's dual flights and, I think I will stick to going via Hamburg in future. Bremen has an excellent bus/tram service to help you get around and the Wienachtsmarkt is one of the best as there are several sites spread around the town, including the Pirate Market by the river.

Everything about this city is about seafaring, now and in the past. You have to go there to experience the multitude of attractions, no other Port in the world can match Bremerhaven in maritime related visitors attractions.

We went to the opera, which was really cool and we walked around the old town. There is a funfair there which is annoying because you can see the old architecture and the beautiful square because of carnival rides and corn dog stands ,etc. I suppose it would be ideal if you were traveling with kids. Getting around Bremen was really easy and we walked everywhere.

We enjoyed walking around the harbour but we bought a boat trip and the address on the ticket was the office of the company not the departure so we missed the boat! Please be careful and see if you have the correct address. We visited the U boat submarine, the ticket is 4 euros and the kids enjoyed looking inside this historical boat.
