The staff was very friendly, kind, and helping. They spread good mood. They also organized a taxi for me to go to Chemnitz. The room had a balcony facing the beer garden. It was lovely and relaxing. The supermarket "Netto" and a bakery are only 10min by walk from this hotel. Kunnerstein observation desk is beautiful and it is at a walkable distance from the hotel.

Close to the center train station, decent, cozy and clear room. This is the main reason I chose Freyhof. In addition, I will rebook this hotel for not only the reasons above. Take Freiberg as Freiburg mistakenly. Very kind that staff and manager understood this beautiful fault and help me out finally. Very pity that I can't live in Freyhof, which had been highly expected among all the FREIBERG hotels. I will be there in the future.

    This is an old DDR sports hotel. It's not the most plush or luxurious, but it's great. It has an almost unique charm. Its a little remote and there did not seem to be any restaurants or bars within walking distance but the hotel had everything that we needed.There was plenty of parking, our motorbikes had spaces right outside the entrance. And there is ample parking for cars. It has a nice little bar with cold beer at reasonable prices and a terrace as well as a beer garden. Although we hadn't booked and evening meal in advance the staff (all of whom were terrific) managed to squeeze us in. The meal itself was good enough although there was very little variety. Breakfast the next morning was very good. At first glance the hotel looks a little tired as the facade is falling apart but the bed was comfortable and the en-suite had a bath! Which was great. Don't expect luxury as this place was designed for sportsmen/women 50 years ago. - It has a ski museum and a bobslegh in one of the corridors! - But for us it was fine. And the price was fantastic value..During the evening they also had a very good band playing music to ourselves and half a dozen elderly German couples. One oddity was that outside the main entrance, and in the reception area were a number of pens containing live rabbits. I,ve no idea why but it added to the slightly odd feel to the place. If you want to stay somewhere that will give you good memories rather than a bland impersonal hotel this is the place for you. I thought it was great.

    It felt like I was at a ski resort.... It had everything you need. Great spot to head off and explore the town or take one of the many hikes. The room was huge and so nice to have seperate lounge and bedroom! The breakfast was one of the best on our trip... Such variety and quality. And to top it off was having the pools connected to hotel... The best way to come back and relax!

    Book this very cosy hotel set in an idyllic hilly backdrop, polite staff, lovely breakfast. Spa area has a pool and whirlpool jacuzzi that has several jet options, there is a small playground and sauna, steambath as well. The family suite was the most spacious and comfortable one we have ever been in. The only downside is that there wasn’t a joint bed in the “parents” room but overall a pleasant stay with kids.

    Great old silver mining city with highly reputable university and has the largest mineral collections in Middle Europe. All building are nicely renovated in comparison to the East Germany Era. Many shops and restaurants are available for reasonable prices. The Christmas markt just started with a lot of Erzgebirgishe Delicacies, woodwork and craftwork. It is easy to go around walking, by bus. The train station is 15 minutes away. The bells of the adjacent church sounds every half hour as in the old medieval times. People everywhere are friendly and helpful and mostly speak English. Many cultural events are announced specially at Christmas time. Must visit the mineral Collection and the Shloss. Well known with their Stollen at Christmas time. Cafe Hartmann is a must with its traditional Marzipan delicacies. I would recommend visiting this great city anytime of the year.

    Nice skiing region! The small town itself is also pretty and worth to visit. You can have a nice cheap breakfast downstairs in the corner. I highly recommend to avoid rupturing your ligaments during skiing!🤣

    Eibenstock is a very pretty small town, it has something for everyone. I loved the Embroidery Museum! If I had been with small children they would have enjoyed the story telling sculpture in the market square and the Wurzel Rudi everything :-)

    We really enjoyed visiting the toy and the open air museum and the octagonal church where the pastor gave a talk about Seiffen‘s history. We ate at the hotel and the restaurant Holzwurm. Getting in & out of Seiffen is adventurous, since buses do not run often, but on time!

    We stayed here because Seiffen was booked up. Seiffen 6 km away. There was about 20 cm of new snow the day and night we arrived, the roads out of Seiffen are not fantastically sloughed. However, that wasn't an issue for us. Monday night the restaurant is closed so we couldn't test it, but we looked at it before checking out, very beautiful. Like something out of King Arthur times. We definitely want to come back.

    It's a very nice and convenient place for skiing and snowboarding, around 3.5 - 4 hours drive from Berlin. The number and type of slopes is perfect for offering enough variety to beginner/intermediate, but also easy when people want to do different tracks and meet for lunch. On the Fichtelberg side there are 3/4 tracks in total, they all end very close to each other and there are many (affordable and good) huts for lunch, also with some vegetarian/vegan options. (we ate at Prijut12, definitely recommended!) We didn't go to the Czech side, next time!

    Pirna is an ideal base if you want to explore Saxon Switzerland. The Old Town is compact but very lovely. It has very tranquil ambiance, which suits travelers seeking a peaceful getaway. For the people to love old architecture, Pirna is a gem as it is completely unspoiled with modern concrete monsters. There are many great restaurants and cafes within the Old Town, though most close quite early. From Pirna, it only takes within less than 1 hour to get to Bastei, Bad Schandau or other smaller towns.

Plenty of restaurants, bakeries, ice cream / coffee shops, small town shopping facilities, museums, traditional crafts, twice a week farmers markets, theatre, street music, the famous Kate carnival was on whilst we were there. The town is lovely restored and has a lot of small town charm. You would have to plan your trip very well if you relay on public transport to explore the hinterland. It is doable but not too easy to get around the area without a car. A lot of things to do at the doorstep of Annaberg. Hiking, museums, Dresden or Prag would be a 2 hrs drive; you find certainly something to do for everyone of every age.
