Bremen is such a lively, historically interesting city. From the river and it's busy maritime activity to the cool, green spaces of its many parks there is so much to enjoy. Touring the Mercedes Benz factory or visiting the outstanding Emigration Museum in Bremerhaven or taking a tour of the mediaeval Town Hall. Gottingen is a lovely town and very easy to negotiate.
Gottingen is a lovely town and very easy to negotiate. We drove from Frankfurt and there was plenty of parking everywhere including near the university and city centre. It is more touristic than I thought, a bit overcrowded for my taste. One reason to not take the cable car up the mountain. If you like crowds and lots of restaurants you're at the right place. My Dad served in Fulda during the early 1970s. It was a joy to go back and learn what an amazing and vibrant city that Fulda is. I enjoyed exploring it's cultural heritage during the wine festival and it was lovely to see so many of the site's I grew up hearing about.Guest review byMorgan - 10.0

Winterberg exceeded expectations.
Winterberg exceeded expectations. One believes that you would need to go to Switzerland or Austria to have a great ski holiday, but the truth is a short 4 hour drive from the middle of the Netherlands you are in a place where as a beginner skier you have everything you might want! Lovely place, well worth a visit. Traffic regime in town a bit chaotic due to 'green' local policies, but sufficient parking for those who can find it. Mind the traffic calming measures/cycling lanes. Beautiful gothic Church of St. Elisabeth, historic town centre with old university buildings, lovely restaurants and some very nice shops. Gorgeous views from the well-preserved castle but hills quite steep with many steps. Lots of students with active night-life during term time. Beautiful surrounding area, perfect for walks and cycling. Superb, large Botanical Gardens with nice café (note the short opening times, though).Guest review byWilfGermany
