View from the apartment is why I booked and also the location is fantastic. Very spacious and the apartment has all the modern amenities you need, whilst retaining examples of the old architecture. We stayed on a Sunday (for the lovely Christmas market) and Monday during December and whilst everything closed on Monday, the apartment is a lovely place to relax. It was also clean and warm (with enough heating in place for the cold winter). Lastly, just relaxing and looking out the window is just amazing.

Hotel is first of all extremely clean and the fact that they don't allow pets makes a big difference. Very good breakfast buffet with personal touch gives you a good start of the day. Hotel is situated in a quiet, secluded and secure area but you are still within 500 meters to all the nicest restaurants / Hausbrauerei's and 800 meters to the KÖ Galerie.

However, the best thing was that I had an accident on the 2nd night and they helped call the ambulance, got a chair from their offices so that I can sit and be pushed out since there were no wheel chairs, and was willing to be helpful if needed. Good for business, appeared to be lots to see and visit although my stay was quite busy and short. I used the Metro but had no idea how to pay, no info at any of the stations so worth doing research on that. Used Bolt taxis a couple of times, quite a bad service as they do not collect from where the App says so it gets very annoying. Unusual for Bolt but experienced it with 3 different taxi's. The chocolate factory is worth a visit as are the Weinclubs (If you can get an invite).

Airport is awful.

Airport is awful. Starting from the long walks to immigration, long waited in queues to stamp my passport for over an hour, hostile attitude from passport control staff asking lots of aggressive & unjustified questions despite having a multi entry visa for 4 years on my passport that have been used multiple times in EU including Dusseldorf that I visit on yearly basis! Apart from shopping and nice food, no real attractions to see or visit in Dusseldorf! most of the places are in Kolon

Checked in on the Friday and visited the Signal Iduna Park...

Checked in on the Friday and visited the Signal Iduna Park for their game against Leverkusen,then visited the zoo on Saturday and spent Sunday walking around the centre and the national football museum. Everyone is friendly and getting around is easy with the tubes and buses.

We loved Münster and its people.

We loved Münster and its people. Everyone was chilled and very civilised. It was a vibrant place to visit with a pretty re-built centre. The city is surrounded by a ring of green cycle/walkways. And the bike is KING! We coincided our visit with the Send fair and the spectacular autumn fireworks.

Bonn has not been bombed during WWII, therefore it has the largest well-conserved late 19th century urban area in Germany (Suedstadt). To be mentioned also, the Poppelsdorf Schloss and its wonderful restaurant situated within the Botanical Garden, the Poppelsdorfer Allee and the beautiful Rhine promenade in easy reach.

Aachen exceeded our expectations. The city feels magical with beautiful store fronts, enticing venues for meals, desserts and drinks. It has a walkability that makes its fun and easily negotiable. It’s ani e small good place .. my trip was too short to describe this town but located in the heart of Germany’s Ruhr area, is famous for its industrial heritage, cultural attractions, and vibrant nightlife. Definitely not a 4-star hotel.

Definitely not a 4-star hotel. First of all, the room lacked basic amenities: no safe for valuables, no closet for clothes, no phone to contact reception, and not even a simple shower cap. A lot of rooms have broken AC and broken lights in the bathroom. Reception people are very slow and helpless. You need to walk from 4th floor to ground floor if any issues as no phone to call reception. They say call on mobile but as foreigner people we must pay for call which is ridiculous because they do not provide service that should be. Do not follow up on what promissed to guests. At checkout, they offered a 20% refund due to all the inconvenience, but we never received it, and no one responded to follow-up messages when we approached them about when we get refund back. Extremely unprofessional. We will never return and will strongly advise others to avoid this place.

The Christmas market in Duisburg is excellent.

The Christmas market in Duisburg is excellent. The locals are friendly and helpful and the city centre has a wide variety of good shops, restaurants and pubs. We particularly liked Cafehaus Dobbelstein in Sonnenwall 8, the Hellas Greek Restaurant on Poststrasse and the Konig City pub in Dusseldorfer Strasse. The railway, Bus and tram stations are on the hotel’s doorstep and the staff in the nearby Tourist Information and travel ticket offices are extremely helpful.

Don’t expect a regular hotel, this is a ground floor 2 bed apartment which we were unaware of when we booked….however it ticked all our boxes for an overnight stay. No complaints here. Overall a good apartment with extras.
