You cannot get a better location than this place in that region. Bad Kleine HBF is about 1.4 km from the property. The major attractions in Mecklenburg (such as Hamburg, Schewerin, Lubeck, Wismar, Rostock etc.) are easily accessible by train if you do not want drive to those places. Parking facility is right in front of the property and there is always enough space for any type of vehicle. There are two large supermarkets within 1.2 km from the hotel. The owners of the hotel live next to the property itself. They were very helpful when I reached them on their number. The room was regularly cleaned. We stayed 3 nights. We spent 1 full day in Schwerin.
We stayed 3 nights. We spent 1 full day in Schwerin. The castle is more impressive from the outside but as it is not expensive it's OK to visit. German and English information boards in every room that is open. Don't bother with a guided tour unless you are keen on German history. We went at 10.00 a.m. and avoided the crowds which we saw later. Schwerin Cathedral is worth a visit and only 2 euros to climb the tower for some good views. But overall the town is a bit ordinary, or maybe we had already visited prettier and more historic towns on our way there... There is a big, busy and modern shopping mall in the town centre. Perhaps this has harmed the commercial success of the shops not in the shopping centre? Only a one night stop-over but we found it to be a very interesting city that we will return to explore and visit the castle.
