The staff at reception and in the restaurant were very friendly and helpful with all our requests. If you request an hour in advance (to give time to heat up) it's possible to use the Finnish sauna in the basement, which was amazing. There are loungers with blankets for relaxing in between the sauna. We were the only people using it during our stay and we found it super relaxing (especially after a long walk in the woods). I'd let the hotel know in advance that I was vegan so they had special vegan plates for me at the breakfast buffet: vegan cold meats and cheese, spreads, yoghurt and even vegan muffins the last morning, which was really appreciated! The location is great: it's in the old town, so picturesque cobbled streets and only a few minutes walk from the bus stop. The restaurant seemed very popular, although (apart from the breakfasts) we only had a light dish there one evening. (I think it would have been necessary to let them know in advance with dietary requirements.) Another time we'd probably eat there! There were excellent facilities and everywhere was very clean. The staff are so helpful and professional. The evening meals were delicious and interesting and there was a good selection of items at breakfast and vespers. It was nice to be able to taste the wines too. The Achat Hotel is awesome in every way, the location is just 2 minutes walk from the train station and the bus station. You have almost everything around, shops, restaurants, church, post office, etc. The staff are fantastic, they speak English and patiently listen to their clients, they give you all information you request for to visit the village. I highly recommend this hotel, it is also very neat. I will suggest that they should add electric kettle and coffee mugs in the rooms though I think I was told that there was a coffee machine somewhere but I didn't search for it, I prefer having tea or coffee in my room whenever I want without going out to get some. It‘s a beautiful small village and a good location to explore the area „Suedliche Weinstrasse“. There are only two restaurants in this village and there was more demand than capacity during the very popular weekend that we selected. Due to Corona it was not easy to find a nice restaurant. Lots of Wineries make up for this setback. You can make appointments for tastings or just try to be lucky and find something to your taste - shouldn’t be to difficult. The surrounding area ist just great for hikes on every level of fitness and you can even learn something about the difficult birth of democracy in Germany at the Hambacher Schloss. Interesting town with some nice old architecture. A visit to the Eis Cafe Cortina should be planned - great ice cream. Some good places to sit and watch the world go by.
