I hadn’t been in Copenhagen for 45 years. I was camping that time so didn’t remember much about the city except Tivoli Gardens at night and seeing the Little Mermaid. It is a very walkable city to main attractions. But I liked noticing something from afar eg Our Saviours Church, and being intrigued so set off to discover it. What a treasure! Helsingor is an adorable town an hour north of Copenhagen. I don't know that I'd have ever thought to go there but my son decided to get married there. It was an ideal meeting place for both families as his wife is from Germany. There are lots of lovely shops and restaurants and the ferry to Sweden is super easy to catch. I traveled by train from Copenhagen to do a 3 day hike. Koge was such a pleasant surprise - gorgeous architecture, good little hotel close to the market square, lots of amenities (shops/restaurants). Took a bus from train station (get your bus and train tickets in a 7 Eleven) to furthest point to hike to Stevens Klimt. Had to return there that night to connect onto another train to Mons Island - amazing hiking spot! The hotel is clean and very close to the train station so, it was very easy to get to central station which gives you access to all the trains that will get you to where you want to go. Very clean, newly renovated, quiet. The room well appointed. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast. The hotel is in a small shopping area with a supermarket,small restaurants and every convenience very close. It’s a bit out of the city centre, so maybe not ideal if you are sightseeing in Copenhagen, but it’s on a bus line. My only small gripe- the pillows were small and we could have used two each and the winter bedcovers were too warm for June. It dark in these time of the year, but it is a great and green place. Friendly people and possibly nice path for recreations. I were business there though. Location and the grounds is very nice. The breakfast is ok but served between 7-9am. Room was big but outdated. TV has few channel and no bluetooth. Two person bed was separate spring mattresses that kept drifting apart. Bathroom is not up to standards for this kind of location and price range. Its a conference hotel more than it should be. Great, vibrant city filled with nice and helpful people. Moving from point to point was very easy thanks to great metro system. We have visited some places that could be exciting for kids like the city zoo and we also had a trip by a boat through the city canals. Food was tasty.
