A special thank you to the staff — incredibly friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. The cleanliness is impeccable, everything is perfectly taken care of. The breakfasts are outstanding: delicious, varied, and made with care. My stay was 100% enjoyable! This is paradise on earth. Words cannot describe this resort. Anyone who gives it a negative rating has lost their mind. We were taken by golf cart to our beautiful room (63), where we were surprised to find we had a sea view, which I hadn't booked. The tranquility, the design, the beds, everything was like a dream. To our surprise, we discovered a heated toilet with spray and flush buttons and pleasant blue lighting. We walked to the beautiful beach with the hotel's lovely beach bag, towels, slippers, and pareos. There, the next surprise awaited us. The fifty shades of blue sea, and that's only a 2-hour flight and a 30-minute boat ride away. Here you will find the Caribbean of Europe. All day long you can float in the most beautiful water surrounded by fish swimming peacefully by. Save a few euros every day and book a stay here! It's expensive, which is to be expected for this quality, but it's worth it! You can take the beach bag, flip-flops, and pareos home with you. There is a small bar on the beach where everyone gathers in the evening to peacefully watch the sunset. Perfect music accompanies the sun as it goes down. Insanely beautiful. The hotel is stunning and well located close to the beach. The breakfast was delicious amd the staff was amazing. I stayed one night for my birthday and was upgraded so I could have a late checkout the following day. Extra thank-you to Georgia at reception for making this possible. The room (203) is beautiful, luxurious and the plunge pool is great to cool off. The daybed was perfect for reading a book and having a cup of tea. The staff also left me a birthday card & bottle of cava, which was a lovely gift, when I returned to the room after my massage. I loved the attention to detail with providing a woven beach bag for going to the beach. I also relaxed in a hammock by the pool in the sun while listening to relaxing tunes. I honestly didn’t want to leave and have recommended the hotel to all my friends in Ibiza. Hope to return soon.

Waiting to be discovered

The smallest of the main Balearic Islands, Formentera is more laidback and, on the whole, less touristy than its bigger neighbours. It doesn’t have an airport, so most arrivals are via ferry from Ibiza Town or Denia on the Costa Blanca. Unlike the other Balearics, it is largely flat, making it good for cycling and hiking. However, it does still have the beautiful beaches, craggy coves and crystal clear waters so typical of this island group. Another contrast is Formentera’s liberal policy on nude sunbathing - it is allowed on many beaches. One of the longest beaches is at Platja de Migjorn where the white sands shelve gently into the sea. On the other side of this stretch of land is Es Caló where most Formentera apartments by the beach are found. The sand dunes at Es Pujols are also fantastic, and just inland is Estanh Pudent a large lagoon that attracts rich birdlife. On the other side of the lagoon is La Savina, arrival point for the ferries and a good starting point for Formentera sailing trips. The capital Sant Francesc Xavier has a whitewashed, 18th-century church at its centre and a few Formentera hotels with pools on Booking.com.

Playa Mjgjorn is a long stretch of beach, some bits wider and better than others. I'd tend to stick to properties to the west of the south coast for best beach option and access. It's a lovely spot and if you have transportation you can get around easily. Number L2 bus serves Ca Mari well. Great sunsets, and some nice little beach bars dotted around. Limited vegetarian options throughout!

Probably the best town on the island, with nice beach, good choice of bars and restaurants and shops. Perfect area for families or couples. Easy access to the rest of the island by car, moped or cycle- everything within 10-15 minutes drive. If you want best value for money choose the bars and restaurants away from the beachfront.

I think La Savina is the best place to stay if you’re visiting Formentera.. You’re close to the port so no taxis needed when you arrive and leave. Also, great choice of bike rental places ( which is the best way to visit the island). It also has lots of restaurants. Other places like Els Pujols, Playa del Mijorn or Es Calo are lovely, but limited ,and you’ll need a car or taxi to get there.

San Ferrán de ses Roques is a hidden gem in the heart of Formentera, perfect for those who want to discover the island's authentic soul. It’s a welcoming and peaceful village, yet full of life, especially in the evenings when the streets come alive with locals and tourists mingling in bars and restaurants. One of the things I appreciated most is the relaxed and genuine atmosphere. You can find artisan markets here, with local artists displaying their creations, and small cafés where you can stop for a coffee or a beer. San Ferrán has preserved its authenticity, far from mass tourism, offering a much more laid-back experience compared to the busier areas of the island. As for the food, the village restaurants serve delicious dishes, many based on fresh seafood and local products. I highly recommend trying the tapas at one of the traditional restaurants: simple yet flavorful, they’ll make you feel like a true islander. Additionally, its central location makes San Ferrán an ideal base for exploring Formentera: within a few minutes by scooter or bike, you can reach the most beautiful beaches and interesting spots on the island. It’s the perfect place for those looking for authenticity, tranquility, and a taste of local culture.

4 stars, really.

4 stars, really. It’s more like 1 1/2 to 2 stars hotel at best. The costs for what you get is way to exagerated. I have no problem at all to pay for something, but this was by far the worst experience i got for what i payed for. To sum it up: beach mediocre with alot of alges, rooms at best 2 star level, food expect the cheapest things you can buy for money, that’s the quality of food. Reception is a nightmare! Good things: animation is doing their best and it’s ok… and at least the staff is cleaning every day. Save your money, you get alot of better hotel around the world for this price. Way to overrated and too expensive.

Es Pujols is a bustling town with a very good selection of...

Es Pujols is a bustling town with a very good selection of shops and eating places. It has probably tripled in size since I first visited in 1984. There are market stalls at the beachfront every evening in the high season. Some of the restaurants are very expensive and over priced, but some of the more traditional restaurants are more reasonable. I would avoid staying right in the centre of the town as it could be noisy.

Playa Migjorn is a stunning beach with so many different contrasts. At the hotel it was very calm with some rocks and clear but further along just cristal clear then at the top end more wild and rocky but with clear water. The beach bars are all so different, our favourite Kiosko 62 is on the beach with cristal clear water and not such a busy part of the beach. Stunning sunsets and some boating activity. Views from the hotel bar and restaurant were stunning.

We have been to the island on at least 20 previous visit and know that Es Pujols is the most touristy place on Formentera, but it has a real charm, is great for children and a really good place to base yourself if you visit the island.
