Spotless Hotel. The staff are lovely and always have a smile and say hello. Natalia and joel- amazing with the guests. We were half board, and the quality of food was excellent. Always a lovely choice for breakfast and dinner. I can't fault the food or drinks. The welcome, checkin, location, room, amenities , facilities, staff, food, pool, entertainment. All excellent. I wanted a five star hotel for a peaceful holiday. Lava beach delivered. Bravo to you guys. I will see you next year.

The Island Out of This Planet

Volcanic Lanzarote, one of the Spanish Canary Islands, features the dramatic landscapes of the Timanfaya National Park and the lush beaches of Papagayo and Blanco. Its out-of-this-world appearance, due to volcanic eruptions of the 18th and 19th centuries, earns Lanzarote a well-deserved spot in the sci-fi film sets list.

Really spacious and well laid out complex. Great choice of food at the buffet restaurants, we tried the main restaurant, the Italian and the Asian (the last one is booked online). Really liked how well run the poolside buffet snack bar was if you just wanted a light bite rather than the main buffet lunch option and great for an early morning coffee! Easy walk to the local marina which is gorgeous for a morning out and a convenient location for a trip to Timanfaya National Park. Will definitely be back!

Excellent and very efficient team, everything was on time, and they organized all the activities we wanted (surfing, padel, bikes). Kamezi Restaurant and bar are awesome too. Breakfast was served in the villa every day. Spa was nice.

The perfect comfortable base for the holiday. The villa layout was good, with sheltered outdoor eating area just outside the kitchen and also a southerly facing sitting area by the pool. A resort split into two by a 20 minute walk. Both sides had an excellent variety of shops and restaurants - good value for money especially the 'Cafe Berruga' Bar/Restaurant. Our favourite place was 'Secretos del Mar' - food here was exceptional. Also, the Chinese, next to 'Secretos' is well worth a meal. The sea never receded more than a 100 metres from the beach. Ferries close at hand to take you to the other islands.

Lots of nice eating places nice walk along the front but very windy. Personally I prefer Playa Blanca more places to explore and walk to and quieter which is what I prefer. Didn’t think there was enough to do spent three nights there which was enough for me.

I was surprised by Arrecife, the cost of food and drink in a capital were surprisingly low. €1.50/small beer made eating out and having a few drinks very reasonable so we ate out every night. Great value destination, the bus had a flat fee of €1.40, which took me back to my childhood growing up in South Yorkshire with public transport subsidies, so 1 stop or a long journey was a fixed cheap price. The time of year we visited, November, meant it was maybe quieter than some would like but our party loved, with enough to do and see and great pedestrian zones meant you could walk everywhere and not have to worry about traffic. I have already recommended the destination and the place we stayed to someone at work.

A small town with plenty of people around using the facilities for their daily life. Not a lot of choice of places to eat but enough the fakily run Spanish Taverna was amazing this I would recommend the best value ever and so friendly. Shut on a Sunday so you are warned lol!!!

Lots of catered establishments for a variety of dining and drinking experiences as well as basic health and welfare for everyone. Beaches are wonderful sand and blue sea at all times. Buses are frequent and offer both directions to/from airport as well as capital or south on island. Plenty of on-street parking that is completely free at all times to park a hire car safely. Feels safe for single female to walk alone even at night.

Wonderful little town sit in the past, no noises apart from the sea and the wind. Breataking cliff as a background, wonderful sand beach for spectacular walks! The town has dirt roads, it seems belonging to another time, enchanting, white, no advertisement as Manrique (the local artist of Lanzarote) worked with politicians to keep a visual decor (all hourses withe, two floors only, no advertisment). It was paradise for me! Just being there and admire the athmosphere!

Where we stayed in Yaiza was very quiet. A great location for a large group like ours but a must is to have a hire car to enable you to travel freely in and out of more lively areas around the island.

I was there in early March, and it did feel a bit off-...

I was there in early March, and it did feel a bit off-seasony and quiet. Some of the cafes I had wanted to try were closed until the end of March. Still, a small handful of good restaurants, and easy access by road to the other parts of the island, so it was a good base to explore from. I recommend Ikarus for fresh fish, Boutique del pan-San Rafael for coffee, and the Creperia for cheap/cheerful tapas and drinks outside with music. I found the locals all very friendly.

Puerto Calero is has a small marina, and is not too busy, it is great to walk along the cliff top paths, one to Puerto del Carmen, and in the opposite direction to Playa Quemada, both walks taking around an hour.
