I stayed at this new hotel in Addis during a recent work trip, and it far exceeded my expectations. I originally chose it based on just one previous review, and I’m so glad I did. Every word of praise was absolutely true. The owner of the hotel is a true gentleman who personally ensured I was comfortable throughout my stay. He even arranged a free airport pick-up and drop-pff (though I didn’t need the drop-off as a friend collected me) and allowed a late check-out at no extra charge. Small gestures that made a big difference. The entire team, from the reception staff to the waiters and housekeeping, were exceptionally kind and professional. Their warmth and attentiveness made me feel completely at home. The hotel itself is spotless, the wi-fi is strong, and the food is delicious. The rooftop seating area offers a beautiful view of the city. What truly amazed me was the value for money. For such excellent service, comfort, and hospitality, the price is unbelievably reasonable. You get far more than you pay for here. I strongly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again whenever I’m in Addis Ababa.

"I had a wonderful stay at Mesay Hotel! The room was very clean. I would like to thank the hotel manager, Yohanes, for his hospitality, welcoming and seeing off guests, and his attention to every aspect. The staff were very friendly. AMAZING STAFF with a smile than never leaves their beautiful faces. :) They are always ready to help. I loved their hospitality, from the reception desk till the cleaning lady. I stayed for a whole week, and I have never felt more at home. <3 The best part is that the hotel is a walking distance from all the malls, Edna mall, Selam city mall, friendship store and hypermarket... <3 And... you have got to check out their lounge on the 9th floor... GREAT VIBE!

People are so kind and helpful, making you feel welcome and at home! You have everything you need. I liked the gym, if is well equipped. Very nice breakfast, bar and helpful front desk at all times. They provide a free shuttle to airport which is so easy and convenient. Definitely will come back!

I have been thoroughly impressed with it so far.

I have been thoroughly impressed with it so far. Located a little southwest of Addis Ababa, the area is incredibly safe and well-maintained. The transportation is also convenient, with easy access to public transit and major roads. Overall, I'm very happy with my decision to stay here during my visit and would highly recommend this neighbourhood to others.

This is best visited with a guide .

This is best visited with a guide . Our guide took us to Signum Vitae ... a non-governmental organization dedicated to rehabilitating and improving the lives of disabled people . It is wonderful to see how they make eye-glasses in the facility they have . We also visited the Sabahar fabric workshop ... in a great , peaceful location with lots of trees and flowers . They make [ and sell ] gorgeous things from hand-woven and hand-dyed materials. We visited " Lucy " in the National Museum , and saw the palatial residence of Ethiopia's former emperor Heile Selassie in the Ethnological Museum . The coffee in Ethiopia is excellent !

Be prepared for lots of holes in the sidewalks , and people begging/soliciting . We always felt slightly uneasy when going for a walk , and the many construction sites have you walking in the street with seemingly inconsiderate drivers . We spent more time in the hotel because walking around wasn't enjoyable .
