Not only is the resort a serene oasis, but it is surrounded by beautiful, manicured gardens and water views that stretch for miles. Food is varied and impeccable. But what made this holiday as wonderful as it was were the staff. Throughout our stay, we greeted by name wherever we went. The staff were so kind and happy and genuinely treated us like family. As we left, they came and hugged us and reminded us that we are now new members of their very large family. We left with tears in our eyes as we have never ever experienced such gentleness, kindness, happiness, and humility.. This was the perfect holiday for body and soul. I could see the indian culture and roots. Overall Fiji is excellent destination but due to wrong resort selected my whole vacation got spoiled. You must check the review before selecting property. Lots of food options.
Lots of food options. Go to the market for local food and coconut water. Malls located all over the main Suva shopping and eating area close to the market and within walking distance from each other. Parking is a humbug and best you park on the multi storeyed parking lots for shopping malls. They can be expensive so plan what you want to do before making the journey to Suva. I enjoy getting far away from the tourist crowds when I travel to the islands, especially to see the people of the land and their way of life. Lautoka is an awesome place to get an insight of the beautiful Fijian culture, its people and community, and the real Fiji. A beautiful beach spoilt by floating litter and rubbish in the water. I have seen this often around the world and understand that it is a side effect of a bigger issue. Polynesian nights with lovo Dinner, held at resorts - Ultiqa fiji palms monday night, uprise beach resort Thursday night, Pearl resort friday night, is not to be missed. Pizza night at Ultiqa, indian buffet night next door at Pearl resort. Navua river rafting with village visit and waterfall. Fresh fruits and vegetables on roadside market stalls. Overall, it was a great trip. Several onsite restaurants catered to all types of palette, friendly staff, good food and beautiful resort. Lagoon water was warm and great for a light swim/dip.
