FAQs about hotels in Cornwall
The Stuff of Legends
Inhabited since prehistory, Cornwall is characterised by a series by rocky bays, fishing villages and spectacular coastline. Right at England’s western tip is Land’s End where sheer cliffs descend into the Atlantic Ocean. Along the coast is popular St Ives, home to many Cornwall hotels by the sea on Booking.com.
Another fantastic beach resort is Penzance, while across the bay is St Michael’s Mount (not to be confused with similar Mont St-Michel in Normandy). Also boasting a wonderful beach is Newquay, though it is best known for its excellent surfing conditions.
Further north is Tintagel, the stuff of legends due to its association with King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. The remains of Tintagel Castle are perched dramatically on a rocky promontory, while inland on Bodmin Moor granite tors and stone monoliths only add to Cornwall’s feeling of mystery.
Heading north towards Bude the Cornwall beaches become longer, while on the southern coast Looe is a picturesque town curving around an inlet. To the east near St Austell is the Eden Project, huge domes housing thousands of plants from all over the world.
The county town of Cornwall is Truro, home to an impressive cathedral overlooking the River Fal which flows down to Falmouth Bay, a great spot to try some local Cornish ice cream.

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 74 reviewsAs the Americans say, “what’s not to like?”. I was fortunate enough to stay in The Forte Suite, with floor space larger than my little cottage near Sydney! Sooo comfortable. Loved the ambience, the food, that setting. A special shout-out to our waiter at lunch and dinner, Ricardo, and the restaurant manager ( sadly I don’t know her name) consummate professionals both. Coming from Australia, where pet-friendly places are slowly appearing, what a joy for me to see them welcomed on the terrace and some rooms. My friend and dog stayed in the Garden Room. Wonderful decor and immense outdoor space. If you are planning a visit, don’t hesitate. You will not be disappointed. Thank you, Tresanton.Guest review byCarolAustralia

I loved having large sandy beaches close by, and there was a good vibe there, no rubbish, no loud music playing, seemed ot be just pleasant young adults and families. Shops and the zoo were easy to get to. Great place for a relaxing holiday in the sun, I'd certainly go backGuest review byElizabethIreland - 10.0

There was nothing I didn’t like! If I had to think of anything, I would say some of it is very hilly. I ocassionally need to walk with a stick but still found it all manageable. Maybe wheelchair users may find it more challenging.Guest review bycarolineUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Close to the main attractions like St Ives , the Lizard , Lamorna Wink . Lots of places to have a snack or just a coffee at reasonable prices . Bus service excellent , easy to use , better than the car at times as roads very narrow. We found a Pub called the The Long Boat , as OAP ,s they served a 3 course meal In the evenings for £10.95 . Soup , main ,also choice of two sweets . We enjoyed this place as clean , food lovely ,enough for a smaller appetite.at the right price ! As well as the staff .Guest review byCliffordUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Due to one of our group having recently broken her foot and arm we were very restricted but enjoyed candle painting with Kia at Outerspace where i was able to drop her outside. A very enjoyable relaxing activity. Found a lovely carpark at St Dennis with amazing views to sit in the car eating our pasties while the weather gave us its usual cornish 4 seasons within 1 hour .Guest review byJoanneUnited Kingdom - 6.0

The town itself seemed tired and dreary. It was hard to find the 'centre' - you need to park at Priory Car Park then walk. The surrounding area has plenty to see. Recommend Wheal Martyn Clay works (and Eden Project, of course!)Guest review byJeanUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Apart from the cathedral there was not much else . We had based ourselves in Truro to visit Tresillik National Trust which in spite of being in great location was rather dissappointing having visited Lanhydrock earlier in the day which was superb. The house in Tressilick was very limited and appeared to be mainly used in lieu of the more usual excellent NT restaurant.Guest review byRogerUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The parking is a bit pricey, crooklets car park £4.60 for 2 hours, tried to book a table at Brandon arms, phoned on Tuesday day time,to book, said for 2 people, said 7 pm was booked, offered 4.45 pm or 8.45,didn't go tried again on Thursday day time same request, told no tables but only at 4.45 or 8.45,what a coincidence I thought, then it clicked,if I ordered a table for 4 or more I would have got a table at 7pm,in my book I call it ,owner being greedy and choosey, manager appeared arrogant and not friendlyGuest review byAdrianUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Padstow is a busy tourist location, early morning is the best time to pop out for breakfast/coffee before the crowds arrive although most places do not open until 10.00 am. The surrounding area has so much more to offer, coastal walks / bicycle rides / paddle boarding and surfing.Guest review byNicolaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Looe has character, great charm, really good amenities and excellent beaches. A working fishing port as well as a major tourist town it offers an insight into Cornish life as a town where people actually live and work, co-existing with holidaymakers rather than being a second-home nightmare. I found local people really friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is vibrant and unpretentious with a wide cross-section of humanity visiting to enjoy this very special coastal town. The coastal walks in both directions from the town along the South West Coastal Path are wonderful and offer fine views and the way that the coastline wraps around Looe Bay makes for an idyllic outlook and adds to the experience. At the end of my week's stay in Looe I felt invigorated by the sea and stunning coastal light, welcomed by a friendly working port town and I even got to watch Kris Marshall and the cast of Beyond Paradise filming an episode of the series on the beach. The series captures the essence of life in Looe; a Cornish gem where friendly, hard-working people welcome visitors to their unique and colourful town. Something for everyone.Guest review byIanUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Tintagel is wonderful, and it’s very easy to get around, even when travelling to nearby places such as Boscastle. I visited the Old Post Office, an amazing building that is absolutely worth seeing. And, of course, Tintagel Castle! The walk there is spectacular, and the views from the castle are breathtaking. The castle itself is fantastic, with an incredible atmosphere.Guest review byDeboraUnited Kingdom
