The proprietor, Leyton, was so helpful, hands-on, welcoming, and responded to all our requests very prompty. The room was spacious, quiet, and super comfortable. Easy parking on site and location for Iron Bridge was good. We would stay there again and are happy to recommend it to other travellers.

The property is situated in a beautiful little village with stunning surroundings and walks. The staff were out of this world. They accommodated me and my mum for all our needs. They were so welcoming and friendly. Amy specifically was amazing. She always made sure we had a table for dinner and for drinks. The food… oh wow!! It was incredible. We ended up eating here both nights of our stay which included a gorgeous Sunday dinner and fish and chips. Breakfast you had the choice of a full English, eggs Benedict/royale etc. it and everything! From a girl who lives in London with exception food everywhere, this place topped that by a mile with all their organic and fresh products (truly amazing). Thankyou so so much for a wonderful stay, we will definitely be returning! Katy and Suzanne xx

A beautiful, cosy inn in the centre of Bourton-on-the-Water. It is obvious that the staff really care, as so many little details made us feel more welcome and comfortable! They were also very accommodating with our little one and also made our lives easier in that respect ☺️

FAQs about hotels in Cotswolds

The Quaint Heart of England

One of England’s most quaint areas, the Cotswolds are an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with rolling hills interspersed by picturesque villages with limestone buildings.

From Cirencester to Chipping Campden, Stow-on-the-Wold to Stroud, the laidback lifestyle makes this area a great choice for an escape to the country. Booking.com has some fabulous accommodation and, of our range of Cotswolds hotels, luxury and budget alternatives are covered in equal measure.

The largest place is Cheltenham, a wonderful Regency spa town. Neighbouring Gloucester has some well-preserved medieval buildings and an impressive cathedral. Some of the most photographed medieval Cotswolds sights are the Arlington Row almshouses in Bibury. To the east beautiful Burford has a high street going up a hill, Burford Priory country house and the large Cotswolds Wildlife Park just south.

More feathered friends are found in Birdland Park at Bourton-on-the-Water, a lovely village with low bridges spanning its river. Forming a triangle with it are Moreton-in-Marsh and Chipping Norton, whose former mill and almshouses are worth a look. Broadway to the north-west has a main street in the shade of hills, one of which has a tower from where it’s said you can see 13 English counties!

Wherever you decide to stay, check Booking.com for great Cotswold hotel deals.

We chose this hotel because it was centrally located for our excursions in Wiltshire and Cotswolds and we wanted to explore the Lake District in the evenings. Both check-in and check-out were very smooth with friendly and helpful reception staff. Very good cleanliness and well-maintained suite. Our middle floor room was peaceful and quiet. The number of kitchen utensils was sufficient for two people. Kitchen equipment was in working order and clean. The bed was comfortable. The heating-cooling system works very well. You open the windows for the oxygen of the forest to fill the room.

Everything was fabulous in every possible aspect! The room, the aesthetics, the dinner/breakfast, the personnel's genuine politeness and willingness to fulfil every request, the amenities of the hotel, the location of the hotel, just to name a few. Words or pictures don't do justice to the whole experience. You must visit the hotel in order to find out its magic!

A gorgeous place to stay. Lovely large bedroom, very comfortable. Molton Brown toiletries a real bonus. Breakfast was splendid, as was dinner on the one night in which I dined in. Beautiful grounds and location. But what made it for me was the staff: courteous and friendly, impeccable service and some of the best hotel staff I have encountered.

There is plenty to do in Cirencester and around, a good choice of pubs and shops [lots of boutique style as well as larger well known brands] regular Markets in the main market place, a lovely church, undercover markets, tea shops, library, a museum and the parks, especially nice in the dryer, warmer weather Plenty of places within easy reach if you have your own transport, and the buses run regularly to nearby towns too

Stunning medieval town with masses of history.

Stunning medieval town with masses of history. Busy busy road. Lots of shops selling over priced tat to people with more money than sense. The town is full of snooty people which detracts from the charm of the place. Favourite place to visit was the church and Manfred Schotten Antiques, the latter because the proprietor knows 95% of the people that walk in are lookie loos (including me and the missus) but he is more than happy to chat and secondly it has a fabulous basement.

I’ve roved around the Cotswolds since my University days there many years ago. So many villages, towns to enjoy , they all share a unique charm and rural beauty .. the yellow cream hues glisten in sunlight.. equally never dull in cloudy days. A strong sense of history is ever present.. held together by Church , Town Hall , Cottage Mansion .. architecture.. no litter, no graffiti.. Chipping Campden mostly encapsulates all of these qualities.

The Cotswold's is always a beautiful place to visit all year round but as all places Christmas in the Cotswold's is magical. With the lights glistering against the low clouds and the nip in the air there is always places to pop in for a drink ,eat and warm yourselves in the glow of the fires and of course the welcoming people of the villages
