- From US$196.85 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 598 reviewsOur stay was amazing. We were in a room with a log fire, where the bed was comfy and it had all the amenities we would need to service ourselves. The host walked us through the details and told us about breakfast which was included. We had dinner at the restaurant in the Old Hall Inn and could not fault it. The service was great, the food was delicious and there was a band playing in the pub afterwards. The pub offered a range of drinks. They provided a birthday dessert for my partner too. They really went above and beyond! We had a quiet and comfortably sleep, and in the morning we had breakfast. The full English was incredible and really set us up for our Peak District walk. We took out a Garmin GPS with our hiking route preloaded, which made our hike easy, accessible and safe.Guest review byRaph WardUnited Kingdom

We were in Derby to spend time with our grandchildren and there was so much to do there with them. We had family day passes on the busses and they loved the double Deckers and going to the various playgrounds and fun parks. Every day we found a different place to have lunch and there are so many to choose from.Guest review byGarryNew Zealand - 10.0

Gateway to the peak district and all that, yes, but Chesterfield has a lot to offer in its own right. Ive been before, I was here for work this time but I had time to root around. Come on a thursday when the flea market is on and make a long weekend of it. Look out for the fantastic Record Fairs, and two of the best independent record shops you could hope for. There are some great old pubs and The Spreadeagle is an excellent place to stay and eat. Do your homework, but turn up on spec and explore. You'll enjoy it. And there's Chatsworth up the road if that floats your boat.Guest review byjohnUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We had an amazing three night stay - the weather was 30degC and more every single day. The staff at the hotel were absolutely spot on - really helpful, very friendly and happy to chat. The pool is amazing and it was great to see how popular it is. Great walking routes from the hotel as well and a good bus service - we dined in Matlock one night. Quite handy for Donington Park too. We went to wee the world superbikes on the Sunday. A perfect weekend.Guest review byJason HallUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The Castle is in the centre of Bakewell so very convenient for exploring locally. Chatsworth House is only a few miles away and a great day out. As evening meals are served in the pub, guests can choose to eat in the welcoming atmosphere, but eating fish and chips on a seat by the river is just as romantic!Guest review byBarbaraUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Small town, as a good base-location to walks to Mam tor (and back), the various Caverns (ticketed entry mostly), and the Cave Dale - a beautiful picturesque rocky trek with extremely steep slopes either side. Nearest train-station is at Hope which is a little over a mile's walk. Views of Mam Tor and sorrounding cliffs are amzingly breathtaking from this town.Guest review byKunalUnited Kingdom - 8.0

It's a nice Market Town - currently undergoing a major Town Centre renewal, so it should be very nice when it's finished in a few months (the renewal didn't distract from our stay). It is very well placed, short drives to some iconic Peak District walksGuest review byPaulUnited Kingdom - 8.0
