FAQs about hotels in England
The Small Country with Big Appeal
For a relatively small country, England certainly manages to pack in a wealth of tourist attractions, from Land’s End all the way to Berwick-upon-Tweed.
Words can’t do justice to the capital London - an exciting mix of famous sights, royalty and vibrant life. Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham are fabulous cities that have emerged from their industrial past to be cutting-edge centres of culture.
Newcastle, Leeds and Bristol are well known for their buzzy music scene, while sedate Oxford and Cambridge are famous for their universities and punting. Stately York still maintains its city walls and Windsor has the wonderful castle where the Queen often resides.
Sheffield and Derby border the magnificent Peak District, while the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are close to Blackpool, one of England’s favourite beach destinations. Other very popular beaches are in Brighton, Eastbourne, Torquay and Scarborough.
With a beautifully rugged coastline, mystical Cornwall has England hotels in the country, as do the Cotswolds where stone houses line picturesque villages. The Georgian spa cities of Bath and Harrogate also have impressive stone architecture.
This is just the tip of the iceberg of what England has to offer, but wherever you visit, you can be sure that Booking.com has a fantastic range of apartments, B&Bs and hotels in England to choose from.

- From US$141.70 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 3,071 reviewsWe arrived early for check in but luckily our room was ready so the girl on reception was very helpful and friendly and sorted that out for us. The room was very spacious for me my partner and my toddler. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean and tidy. Breakfast in the morning was very good and I had arranged balloons on the table for my partners birthday (thanks to the staff for sorting that) we also booked into the restaurant for dinner on the Saturday evening which was a lovely meal. Couple of different menus to choose from and not badly priced either. We got vip access into the park which was really good we was one of the first into the park. We throughly enjoyed our stay at the big blue hotel and we would definitely stay here again when visiting Blackpool and I would recommend this hotel to other couples and families as the location is perfect. It's round the corner out the way but not too much out the way. Tram does stop right outside if you don't want to walk. Thanks Big Blue Hotel for a lovely stay 😊Guest review byCarlaSpain

So many beautiful features if you wander around - galleries, balconies with sumptuous old furniture, grand staircases, framed photos from a lost time. Just wonderful.Guest review byTimMontenegro

We were only in London for three days and our trip included visiting family and friends. We spent time in Covent Garden which includes many places of interest, the markets, eating places and the square with street entertainment. We also visited the newly refurbished Battersea Power Station, worth a visit if only to admire the architecture and take in the ambiance, plenty to do, retail therapy, a beautiful hotel and an abundance of eateries that will satisfy all ! We also very briefly revisited the embankment area, Houses of Commons, the impressive Big Ben and enjoyed a lovely lunch near Trafalgar Square, taking in the hustle and bustle of city life.Guest review byTiinaUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Seasoned visitors to Liverpool- whats not to like.
Seasoned visitors to Liverpool- whats not to like. From the local Shopping centre/Liverpool 1 to the shops/cafes/restaurants situated around The Albert Docks.. the amazing famous Liver Bird Building, the cruise ships ( if in) all the way to The Cavern Quaters/Mathew St...day/night life your stay in Liverpool will always be memorable! Everywhere is within walking distance or a short taxi ride. And everyone we meet along the way is so friendly.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
We were positively impressed with Birmingham.
We were positively impressed with Birmingham. It was clean (we had been expecting a lot of rubbish due to the recent strikes) and many new buildings. Great use has been made of the canals and surrounding areas. Some great places to eat within easy walking distance and some interesting places to visit, such as the Coffin Museum.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Such a lovely place is Newcastle.its great for shopping and seeing the history of the city. But mostly, is the friendliness of the people. Certainly felt safe. Even walking in the evening. Great places to eat, I recommend Pho The food was delious and price was good too. Also Babucho, amazing food and great for special occasions. Brilliant service at both restaurants. Wetherspoons is another. With 3 floors you'll always find a seat and breakfast was lush. It is easy getting round Newcastle, either walking, bus which has many buses going to different areas and Uber if your in a hurry. Night life is great for the young at heart 😉 Revolutions and revolutions de Cuba are great place to go for drinks and a good old boogie, excellent service.Guest review byAnnUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The buffet breakfast was ideal for us and in a very quiet and peaceful setting. There were people around to help you to a seat and so the dining room didn't seem too overcrowded. The staff greeted us and that made a difference to our experience for breakfast!! The room was better than expected and we took a walk in the evening despite it being on a busy road. The reception staff helped with information about the shuttle bus to our terminal and it all worked well. We ate in the evening at the pub down the road which was very busy but good value food.Guest review byElaineUnited Kingdom - 10.0
A wonderful city full of hidden treasures.
A wonderful city full of hidden treasures. We went to Clifton to walk along the Suspension Bridge and meandered into the Centre and Harbourside via the museum and Park Street then to the famous Llandoger Trow. Also went to two Italian restaurants - one in Westbury Park (Prego) and next evening to one on Stoke Lane. Both excellent!Guest review byHowardUnited Kingdom - 10.0

York Minster tour was more expensive than we had anticipated but it turned out to be really worthwhile. Loved the Shambles but surprised that most of it shut down by 5-6 pm. The Viking Museum was really very interesting and informative. It was my kind of museum with people to explain aspects and a short ride around the exhibition. Great!Guest review byFrederickAustralia - 10.0
I travel to Leeds regularly and I love it.
I travel to Leeds regularly and I love it. It is a compact city with everything you need, the people are friendly and there are plenty of good places to eat. I particularly recommend the Henry Moore sculpture museum, which is small but has brilliant exhibitions. Taking a boat trip to the Armouries museum is fun, and pottering around the Corn Exchange is something I always doGuest review byAllanUnited Kingdom
