Disclaimer: I booked with Getaway amazing deal, so bear in mind this area average is not cheap. The location is perfect, 10 mins walk in Uptown streets and you’re in train station. There’s Sainsbury next door, nice cafe 3 mins walk, a fine dining restaurant in the hotel. The neighborhood is quiet, good for a walks. Shot walks to Hyde park, Harrods. The reception staff are good, they provide help and give the time to answer all the questions. One thing keep in mind, book in advance, this hotel gets booked fast.

The hotel's location is close to any metro station and bus stop, and restaurants and shops are close as well, the place is quiet except for cars, but that's not the problem. The staff was nice and helpful with everything we asked, and the rooms were clean (cleaned every day, which we didn't expect/need) and nicely set. The breakfast food was good as well.

If you're a bit antsy about heights or have vertigo, probably avoid the Tube. Some of those escalators are actually terrifying, especially going down. Bus service is well nifty though and it's cashless so you can just pay with your phone. Good city as well. Lots going on. Felt safe there.

Hounslow is a lively and diverse area with plenty to explore. My favorite spots were Osterley Park and House for its peaceful greenery and Hounslow High Street for shopping and local life. Getting around is easy thanks to the Piccadilly Line and regular buses connecting to Heathrow and Central London. I enjoyed delicious meals at Taste of Lahore, Twentynine Restaurant & Bar, and several vibrant street food stalls offering kebabs, samosas, and fresh curries. For quick bites and essentials, Quality Foods supermarket was a great find, offering authentic ingredients and ready-made meals from around the world. Hounslow is ideal for solo travelers, with friendly locals, great food options, and convenient access to nearby attractions like Richmond and Kew Gardens

The apartment was clean and had all the necessary facilities and everything was in perfect working order. The property is also conveniently located near transport links and shopping centre. However, I wish there had been a direct contact number to reach someone in real time, rather than communicating only through Booking.com, even for urgent matters. I panicked when I couldn’t access the keys and could not open the door the first time I tried and didn’t receive an immediate response, especially since I was new in a foreign country. This almost ruined my experience.

Richmond is a wonderful town, with plenty of entertainment such as theatres and cinema, especially Richmond Theatre on Richmond Green. There are plenty of wonderful walking routes and parks, Richmond Royal Park is beautiful. Loads of fantastic Pubs, bars, restaurants and cafes. Excellent transport links across London and wider areas. Richmond can be expensive, but is worth the extra costs for a short break.

I recently stayed at Heatherbank Guest House.

I recently stayed at Heatherbank Guest House. The location is relatively convenient for Stansted Airport – about an hour by car transfer – and the staff were friendly enough. As my room did not have a microwave, they kindly allowed me to use the kitchen one. The room and bathroom were clean, with fresh towels provided daily, which I appreciated. However, one major issue left me quite frustrated. On the morning of my departure, I had an early flight at 7 am and needed to wake up at 3 am. To my surprise, the electricity (or main lighting) in my room and bathroom was completely off. I had to shower using my phone’s flashlight. Thankfully, I had finished packing the night before, as doing so in pitch darkness would have been impossible. I checked, and it wasn’t just my room – the small room between my entrance and the main hallway also had no power. Only the main hallway lights were on, which was a relief, as otherwise carrying two heavy suitcases downstairs would have been extremely unsafe. This situation made me think: what if a guest were ill and needed the bathroom at night, a breastfeeding mother needing light, or someone returning late in the evening? I had noticed the generator (or main power) going on and off during the two previous nights as well, with a short power surge to the mini fridge, which was quite noisy. This is an important matter that should be communicated to guests and fixed promptly. While the cleanliness and some of the staff’s helpfulness were positives, this power outage experience left me feeling stressed and disappointed.

The local subway was well used and we ate there. There was reasonable choice and hot drinks, which I didn't expect. Depending on what you like to eat, there are plenty of small eateries. Where we were, there was a station and many buses so connections are there to get around. Pleasant enough suburb.
