Holiday Inn was EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to LOCATE in Burton on Trent! Holiday Inn HAD read my email reference Access issues! After breaking down (Tuesday), in the City, prior to arriving @ our Booking of Holiday Inn, we spent the entire day (Wednesday 17th) there, awaiting vehicle to be fixed (QUIKFIT)! Holiday Inn went out their way, to make us Welcome!Guest review byElizabethUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Hotel rooms were clean and comfortable, good value for money. Nice place and friendly staff. However, the car park is full of pot holes and could cause a lot of damage to the car if you are unlucky enough to hit one!Guest review byJanUnited Kingdom - 10.0
What a wonderful place to visit.
What a wonderful place to visit. Beautiful place with cafes, local interesting small shops and businesses to wander around. Melbourne Hall is a must to visit. Very well positioned for walking in the surrounding countryside, Donnington race track, and close to East MIdlands airport.Guest review byElizabethUnited Kingdom - 8.0
My visit was nostalgic.
My visit was nostalgic. I grew up nearby and went to school in Ashby for a couple of years over 50 years ago. Modern Ashby provided a far better experience than I anticipated. It is a vibrant and bustling country town. There is a great variety of places to eat, wonderful cafes, and great pubs. Try them all. With a car you would have access to the National Forest (a far cry from the coal mining areas that I remember) and other local attractions. All my Uber drivers were friendly and helpful and I was able to visit the places of my childhood, which other visitors would not be interested in but made this final visit wonderful for me.Guest review byKris the BardAustralia - 10.0

Plenty of National Trust and other "Brown Sign" properties and attractions close to the location. Only ate at the Appleby Inn, and the cafe at Moira Furnace as it was January, so many attractions were not open till the weekend, but all that information was available online when we planned our trip. Have always used Appleby Inn or the Old Posthouse, but would consider using a pet friendly location, if we can find one.Guest review byFrankUnited Kingdom - 2.0
This hotel needs a refurbishment.
This hotel needs a refurbishment. I thought I had upgraded for a treat after a long drive and was very disappointed. I should have stuck with a PI or TL hotel for a lot less cost. The faux leather headboards were both ripped/flaking and torn which was very unpleasant to sleep beside.Guest review byArkleyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Beautiful place to visit, a well kept village, plenty to visit, a little museum, Tutbury castle is worth a visit, has links to Mary Queen Of Scott's. Nice cafés and a fair few public houses for a little area. We needed more time, definitely visit again.Guest review byWeaver - 10.0
Everything was great from staff check in /out.
Everything was great from staff check in /out. Rooms were fully equipped. Bathroom clean with towels. A welcome pack of tea / coffee / toilet rolls / milk sachets etc was lovely. The lane leading to the Country club is a one car only with planting of passing bays for oncoming cars . Beautiful grounds and quiet surroundings . My £100 holding fee was cancelled in a day or 2 of leaving . Everything was as we wanted and expected for our stay .Guest review byBennett-g2United Kingdom - 10.0

Great option for an overnight stay after attending the Download Festival at Donington Park. Easy key access with a lock box. Everything you need including a fridge full of goodies which were matched to our dietary needs - much appreciated. A massive bed and great area to sit and watch TV if you have time! Great value for money and highly recommended.Guest review byGill - 10.0
