I don't know how I should express how wonderful this hotel is. From the warm welcome over the breakfast to the lovely bedrooms there was all perfect. We never have been to a better hotel. The room was nice and cosy. You can make tea or coffee for a perfekt start in the day. The breakfast was delicous. You can order outside the menue. The scramble eggs were delicous. You can alos have fresh fruit, toast and bread, joghurt and many more. Im the evening or the day over you can sit in the garden or the patio and have a drink. In the afternoon you can enjoy a cream tea. If you are in the area stay in this hotel. This is an unforgettable experience.

A well thought through recent refurbishment with an attention to detail. Amazing standard of comfort. The best quality accommodation we have experienced on a month trip around UK. We also stayed in the Walpole room for 2 nights and unlike previous reviewer we had no issue with noise from downstairs or outside. Rather we enjoyed looking out to green fields and stunning sunsets. Dinner was absolutely lovely too. Recommend without hesitation.

Location, was good, well maintained room. We have been travelling the UK for a month, and although the unit was self contained and not a motel room only. Its the first place on our travels that had both a fan and fridge, which a fridge is always in your room in Australia, also air-conditioning.

FAQs about hotels in Norfolk

A Rural Retreat for Royalty

Sleepy and agricultural, Norfolk has peaceful villages and deserted beaches that provide a relaxing country escape. Its riverside county town Norwich has historic buildings and a popular market dominated by a cathedral. It also houses several luxury Norfolk hotels on Booking.com.

East are the Norfolk Broads, tranquil waterways that pass by small villages, windmills and verdant countryside. Further east Great Yarmouth, with its Pleasure Beach, is one of the most popular Norfolk seaside resorts. Other beaches are at Cromer, whose pier has a theatre at the end, and Hunstanton, home to a Sea Life centre and a range of North Norfolk hotels. Between them are Wells-Next-the-Sea where wetlands continue to Blakeney, popular for birdwatching.

Also on the coast is Sheringham from where a steam train runs to inland Holt. Swaffham to the south-west is a small market town and surrounding it are some of the Norfolk country houses offering accommodation. Thetford to the south has a riverside park and is by Thetford Forest, site of a Go Ape high ropes course. Snetterton Racetrack is midway between there and Attleborough.

A speedway track is located in historic King’s Lynn, another market town whose wide river means that it also acts as a port. To the north-west Dersingham neighbours Sandringham, whose country house is a private residence of the Queen.

One of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed in. We had a top floor room facing the beautiful green and heard the chimes of the church bells. The bed was so comfortable and there was a separate TV seating area next to the bathroom with tea/coffee/ biscuits/mini bar. Excellent choice of breakfast and we ate in the pub dining area in the evening. The hotel also has a residents lounge area, gym and a cinema offering complimentary popcorn .. which is great for kids. The staff were all very friendly and helpful including the man on reception who carried my luggage up to our room. We would definitely stay there again!

The ‘fair city’ of Norwich has many attractions.

The ‘fair city’ of Norwich has many attractions. Back in the day it had a church for every week of the year and a pub for every day of the year and many remain. The bus service is excellent and if you’re looking for excellent reasonably priced eating establishments I recommend the Belgian Monk (which also has excellent beer) and the Waffle House. Norwich was the second largest city of the country until industrialisation led to the growth of others. Today it’s quieter and more peaceful than its competitors. If you tire of its attractions you remain within easy striking distance of the Norfolk Broads and the lovely beaches of North Norfolk.

Great Yarmouth has a lot to offer.

Great Yarmouth has a lot to offer. Good beaches, theatres, amusements and wonderful fun fairs. The promenade is miles long and lots to see. It is flat and wide and ideal for push chairs and wheel chairs. There is something for children and adults of all ages along the promenade with the sealife centre and the new swimming pool complex.

Huge car park close to the sea and shops.

Huge car park close to the sea and shops. Free after 6 pm so ideal for searching for an evening meal. Lots of characterful shops and many and diverse restaurants. We chose Bann Thai on Church Street and although they were fully booked (Friday night) they squeezed us in and we had an exceptionally delicious meal so we could see why they have earned so many restaurant awards. At least 25-30 diners came in to their booked tables after us and were obviously local people, all very informal and known to the proprietors - always a good sign of a restaurant’s quality. Cromer is ‘human’ sized. Small enough to find your way around easily. We were there in November but could still enjoy the sea, sky and views from the pier, but having holidayed there several times over the years, in summer it is idyllic- ideal for families with a sandy beach and lots of places to eat.

Wonderful coastal town with lovely cafes and quirky shops.

Wonderful coastal town with lovely cafes and quirky shops. beach is lovely and there are many wonderful local places to visit such as the Felbrigg Hall estate, Blakeney, Cley, Siffkey, Holt and Cromer. We recommend lunch or an afternoon tea at Wiveton hall (situated between Cley and Blakeney) Food is delicious and staff are so friendly. The Reef leisure centre, situated on Weybourne road is perfect for families and toddlers love the splash play area. The steam train is a huge attraction and for anyone wanting to venture slightly further afield for the day there is an excellent train service into Norwich and you can be there within fifty minutes. Pretty corner woods is well worth a visit, or two or three. Parking is free and entrance to the woodland is free. Its a magical place to explore. There is an excellent Tesco and Sainsburys supermarket in the town and North Walsham Waitrose will deliver to your holiday home. Sheringham really is a perfect family holiday location.

Wells is beautiful, quant little high street with independent shops, beach with the beach huts is stunning, does get very busy. It’s central to visit other villages, we went to Fakeham, Sandringham Palace, Holkham. The accommodation was just what was needed one large room, with fridge, TV and sepetate shower room, large beautiful garden that we used most days for an hour or so rest between trips out. Hosts were great and milk in fridge was much welcomed. Would stay again
