The building is stunning, and the additional accommodation fits in perfectly. A very well stocked bar. The moment we arrived, we were given a warm greeting and made to feel welcome. The room was exceptional, very tastefully decorated, and well supplied. The evening meal and breakfast were both tasty and plentiful , very well cooked and presented perfectly. The hotel has a lot of history and is proud of it, rightfully so. The village itself is very picturesque.

The atmosphere of the pub was delightful. The service was exceptional and friendly. The rooms were comfortable and clean and there was lots of choice for breakfast. We ate in for dinner too and it was way better than the average pub

I booked this hotel as a surprise for my mother's birthday, and it definitely did not disappoint. They prepared some wonderful 'happy birthday' desserts for our room, and the staff was incredibly kind to help us with the suitcases and have a friendly chat about Inspector Morse.Through correspondence with the hotel, I requested a room with a bath for my mother. Upon arrival, we were assigned to a beautiful room. Unfortunately, instead of a bath, it came with a rainshower (which was still amazing). Even though everything was fully booked, the amazing staff went above and beyond to ensure my mother got her desired room with a bath, with the most beautiful view. I can not stress enough how much that meant to my mother, making her stay and 74th birthday an unforgettable experience. The location and room are undeniably idyllic and wonderful, but it is the amazing staff that is the crown jewel of the Old Parsonage Hotel. I would, therefore, gladly recommend anyone planning a visit to Oxford to stay at this charming establishment and its wholesome staff.

Driving and parking in Oxford not recommended, but bus services are very regular and there is Park and Ride available. We went for the shopping, good mix of high street stores and more gift/bespoke stores to explore. Lots of places to eat. River Thames makes a lovely walk in dry weather. We didn't have time on this trip to explore the more historic landmarks but will come back another time to do so.

We used it to be near an excellent camping site where family members had a campervan and from where we could visit the beautiful Cotswold countryside, towns and villages. As ours was a short stay we didn't spend time exploring the town.

Its a really nice town which is at the moment managing to keep its own character. Loads of history and interesting things about it. Lots of good pubs and restaurants. Lovely walks around the area including the Thames and the Ock rivers. Seems to be quite a few events going on as well. I would absolutely recommend it. Handy for other places - Oxford, even London.

Banbury is a lovely town, old enough to have a lot of character, large enough to have an excellent range of facilities. We were fortunate to be there when there was an excellent festival down by the canal (and the best value cheese we've ever had). St Mary's Church is beautiful and well worth a visit (and a donation - these places are special but expensive to maintain). We look forward to future visits.

I actually spent most of my time enjoying the architecture of the smaller villages around Thame. I found the little 13th century church of Great Haseley very charming. It had a war memorial to the Americans who died protecting the area and its authentic old architecture and church yard were just what I had in mind. Great Milton is dominated by its very expensive manor hotel but I hear the dining is worth the trip if you have the coin.
