Location of the hotel was perfect with country side feel and so much open space for a good walk. Interiors of the hotel are also quite unique giving feel of cosy pub/restraunt and very different open glass view eating area with a lot of plants around. Highly recommended.

Lovely stay in a lovely old English pub. Room was excellent , as was the fish pie for dinner. Good continental breakfast in the room. A bit off the beaten track but that adds to its appeal. Highly recommend.

Almondsbury Village is an attractive village with a pub and community shop. The Swan Hotel up the hill, on the by pass road (A38), does good meals. There is a lay by to see the views over the Severn estuary and both bridges from the top of the hill leading down to the village. If you are staying in the hotels on the bypass it's a challenging walk both to cross the dual carriageway and walk up and down the steep hill down to the village.

There was nothing much where we stayed in the actual village but a Garden centre was nearby for breakfasts and a local store for snacks and drinks and anything else we needed. We spent the day at a wedding held at Tortworth Court which was absolutely excellent for facilities, gardens, views and services. Very beautiful!

Most of buildings decorated up for Christmas so looked very festive. Plenty of independent shops. Has plenty of places to eat. We ate at the lounge as we knew they did vegan options. 90 minute free parking in Aldi car park was handy. But larger long stay car park opposite Aldi.

This pub/hotel is billed as being in Old Sodbury, however, if you're doing the Cotswold's Way expect another mile off the route to get to this place! We did enjoy our brief stay though. Great staff. Friendly.

we live in Yate and have no issues with Yate.

we live in Yate and have no issues with Yate. Chipping Sodbury (the next town) is what visitor's would like to see - an old market town. We were at the Cross hands for a 30th birthday party and know the hotel well. It is well situated for the cotswold, Bath, Bristol and just fantastic countryside but you will need a car.

The staff was courteous in their own bubble.

The staff was courteous in their own bubble. The atmosphere was quiet and calm. Good ambience still. The rooms are ok.and to a good standard. No one mentioned the hospital's menu if a guest feels like ordering lunch or dinner. In otherwords I think you can sell the hotel more to your guests what you are about. I was only there for a short stay on both occasions hence I couldn't explore much.

Hawkesbury Upton is a nice village, centrally located for lots of tourist attractions. There are lots of nice walks in the surrounding countryside. It has a well stocked shop and 2 pubs. The Beaufort Arms is very nice, with good beer and food. The Fox Inn had recently reopened and was having teething troubles, which I hope they sort out.

This property has billed me £150 additional for no reason, I’ve been sent no reason, we left the place immaculate I’m 8 months pregnant not exactly a party animal we spent very little time in the apartment and cleaned as we left. I liked that this apartment was cheap, but with this fee it was a lie. When contacting the company they say they messaged me to say charging and why on 21 June. I have no message, when I ask them to forward me AI at least I can see their reasoning they refuse and say contact booking.com. I don’t like to write a bad review but given I’ve been told go away I’m keen to be entirely honest. Staying at this property is like staying in a council house that someone has been given a £100 voucher to go spend in b&m home stores to decorate. Clean, but everything very cheaply made and hearing had been left on all day so really hot in there. Mattresses so light and soft really cheap. It’s not awful but it’s nothing special either so when I’ve left it immaculate for them to take £150 off me no explanation when I’m 8 months pregnant made this a very expensive stay for a very basic house so far away from anywhere (and getting an Uber in Bristol is a nightmare)

Bedrooms not to standards for price paid, many faults.

Bedrooms not to standards for price paid, many faults. Restaurant too expensive and limited menu. My 1st week stay was only made better by upgrading from a tiny room to deluxe, which was appreciated. Bathrooms cannot have tiled floors due to possible slipping, must change to safety flooring. My 2nd week, the bedroom had no heating and was given a small noisy heater, even the bathroom radiator was not wired up to mains, not good for £385.00.
