Such a lovely place is Newcastle.its great for shopping and seeing the history of the city. But mostly, is the friendliness of the people. Certainly felt safe. Even walking in the evening. Great places to eat, I recommend Pho The food was delious and price was good too. Also Babucho, amazing food and great for special occasions. Brilliant service at both restaurants. Wetherspoons is another. With 3 floors you'll always find a seat and breakfast was lush. It is easy getting round Newcastle, either walking, bus which has many buses going to different areas and Uber if your in a hurry. Night life is great for the young at heart 😉 Revolutions and revolutions de Cuba are great place to go for drinks and a good old boogie, excellent service.Guest review byAnnUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Not somewhere I will rush back to, other than the seafront it felt very tired, it has seen better days, I would recommend that you keep going until your reach Tynemouth which has a much nicer feel to it.Guest review byAdrianUnited Kingdom - 8.0

I was there for business, it was a lovely place to visit, so close to Newcastle and the surrounding areas. Wish I could have stayed longer to do some more exploring. The roads were quiet, and the area was clean. Loved the Angel of the NorthGuest review byChristopherUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A park with boating pond and a ride on miniature steam train. The fun fair for more adventurous types. A fabulous beach with a walkway. The pier - one of the longest in the country. Roman ruins for historic buffs. Not a great place to shop but only a short metro ride to Newcastle. Ferry across the Tyne to North ShieldsGuest review byDaniseUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Great location for Breamish Museum and Durham.
Great location for Breamish Museum and Durham. The Gallery's shopping centre just down the road. Very good bus service to these places if you do not want to take your car which we took advantage of. Had several evening meals at a place called Champs, a very friendly sports bar excellent food and very good value for money.Guest review byHaynesUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Nice hotel right on the coast at Tynemouth, near Cullercoats. A short walk to the lovely village at Tynemouth and alternatively in the other direction to Whitley Bay. Good restaurant and breakfast served daily sets you up for the day. Good choice if this is the area you seek to visit.Guest review bySandraUnited States - 8.0
We knew abought Houghton le Spring already.
We knew abought Houghton le Spring already. We needed to be in Stanley, Durham, and East & West Rainton so hotel was ideally situated. We used the in-house Restaurants & Bar on 3 nights and the Italian Restaurant across the road ! night.. There are bus routes outside the Hotel - I believe maximum fare of £2.00.Guest review byVictorUnited Kingdom - 2.0
The people were lovely and friendly.
The people were lovely and friendly. But, this is not and upmarket place to stay. It was full of drunks and druggies (even the taxi driver and the electrician said this) It was just like some of the worst council estates we have here in the UK. I didn't go out at night with the dog because of this. There were quite a few pit bulls around, including the one upstairs. The property itself was ok and comfortable, but left a lot to be desired. The cutlery drawer was at ground level, there were slugs on the worktop every other morning and the fridge was awkward to open - you had to shut the kitchen door to get into it! But the owner was helpful and friendly.Guest review byMarionUnited Kingdom - 10.0
