Everything about the room. Spacious(yes, rare quality in affordable place in the UK). Comfortable, clean. Superb place. This place is better than any average hotel in the UK. The only reason why they are not a “Hotel” is probably coz they don’t have a lift to go to different floor.

I thought the place had a really nice feeling about it. The first two staff members we encountered at the desk were so nice and helpful and kind. It's makes a big difference to receive a warm welcome. The room was comfortable. I loved the thick duvets. Lovely fresh linen and nice big shower. Really nice body wash and lotion. Easy walk from the station and to the Castle park and some shopping. Buses were easy to find and Uber was excellent for getting around. The breakfast was fantastic. Lovely selection and good price.

Clayton hotel is located right at the heart of Bristol. The hotel is very clean, walking distance to most places, next to bus stops and everything. The staff are really friendly and helpful! I left my backpack on the sofa in the lounge, and Carol (I hope I spell it right!!) from the reception helped me to put it on an Uber and delivered it to the airport just in time for me to catch my flight!! I am so grateful to her help! Otherwise I lost my passport iPad and everything … Highly recommend!

Thornbury Castle was one the most distinguished stays in our travels. The history, the design of the rooms was an ode to the the authentic medieval castle design, the fine dining and cuisine experience, the excellent and beyond helpful staff, walking through the rose gardens, everything was perfect. Thank you for the lovely stay, we will be visiting again!

Room was a good size, clean, cosy and modern. The shower is convenient in the morning but there was also a bath which is great for a nice soak in the evening. I had both an evening meal and breakfast at the pub and both were excellent. I'm working away from home in Chepstow so also very convenient as avoids any possible disruption from bridge closures.

Such a lively vibrant place with a fantastic history. One of the best British cities in my view. The face it is so close to Bath and quite close to Gloucester and others by train makes it a great base.

A pleasant environment. Three decent pubs: up-market Royal Inn overlooking the Severn, a good, Weatherspoons with better than usual staff, another pub over-looking the harbour basin. Portishead a good place to stroll around. Lidl and Waitrose alongside the hotel and M5 just 5 mins away.

Almondsbury Village is an attractive village with a pub and community shop. The Swan Hotel up the hill, on the by pass road (A38), does good meals. There is a lay by to see the views over the Severn estuary and both bridges from the top of the hill leading down to the village. If you are staying in the hotels on the bypass it's a challenging walk both to cross the dual carriageway and walk up and down the steep hill down to the village.

There was nothing much where we stayed in the actual village but a Garden centre was nearby for breakfasts and a local store for snacks and drinks and anything else we needed. We spent the day at a wedding held at Tortworth Court which was absolutely excellent for facilities, gardens, views and services. Very beautiful!

Visiting mid-week I found the choice of places to eat away from the hotel was not great, some pubs were shut or not serving food and the Hungry Horse has a policy of shutting at 10 pm every day other than weekends - loads of Charity Shops but not much else however the easy access to Bath and Bristol by train make Keynsham a good place to stay if wishing to explore the area.

You could clearly see that renovation was being undertaken the front looked charming and the restaurant was very comfortable and food very good. On arrival it didn’t feel welcoming and when we highlighted a broken piece ce of furniture the attitude to it was lack lustre. I can clearly see the potential for this to be a hidden as the town is picturesque.
