This is a brand new hotel in Kefalonia, it looks fabulous, you have everything you need, breakfast in the room, host/owner such a nice lady. We enjoyed every single moment there,the pool is amazing, the sunbeds so comfortable. If you wanna feel like in Tulum or Ibiza, this the place to stay. The people from the hotel are absolutely amazing, they are super nice and super helpful, giving us advice about what to see or where to go. They even helped us with a problem we had with our ferry. They are friendly and close to you, it was probably one of the best services I've ever had. The place is beautiful and calm, you can definitely chill a lot there, it's full of cute and friendly cats. The room was better than what we expected, big and comfortable, with all the things you might need (good bed with additional blankets in case you are cold, a fully equipped bathroom, a small terrace, big closet, a vanity, and even a small kitchen, also it has AC). The bar in the hotel is good too, their food tastes good and the prices are okay too!! The swimming pool is clean, as are all the areas in general, we are very happy about our stay there!!!!! Thank you so much! We also had the chance to do laundry.

I had an excellent experience at Skala Hotel for a one week stay. The hotel is very centrally located. Best restaurants are only a 3 minute walk, with the best one right across right across the street. Highly rated rental car company a 50 foot walk. (I do suggest that you rent a car at the airport as Skala is a $70 taxi from the airport.) Breakfast can a great variety, with seven different hot items on order, for free. They will make any type of coffee drink that you like, once again free. The hotel has been totally renovated in the last two years so the room was top notch. A quiet beach is a two minute walk from the hotel. The staff was professional and always willing to help. They are knowledgeable about the area and their suggestions were very helpful in navigating the area. I cannot say enough about the Skala Hotel, it made out stay in Kefalonia one to remember.

The location is amazing and it is excellent value for the money. The concept is very good because it offers a privacy due to the fact that the units are divided into bungalows surrounded by lovely flowers and threes and the bungalows are directly on the beach. In our opinion the service, the cleanliness, the food and the location make this place absolutely the best place to stay in this part of the island. From Lixoury goes a ferry so it is easy and fast to reach Agrostoli in only 15 minutes. The hotel is run by the lovely family, very kind and friendly. They serve very good breakfast on the terrace with the marvelous sea view. Also for a lunch or a dinner they are preparing traditional greek meals, that taste absolutely the best in comparison with all the other fast food restorants at the Xi beach. For preparing meals they are using their own home made olive oil that is just perfect. The beautiful sandy beach is looong enough that there was never overcrowded and each bungalow has its own sunbed set. We were lucky enough to see even the sea turtles nests on one part of the beach. If you like beach walks you can enjoy it here early in the morning or before the sunset because you can walk from one end of the beach to the other almost the whole hour along the sandy shore. If you are looking for a nice and quite place to stay this would be very good choice. They are pet friendly and this place deservs all the recommendations and we would love to come back. Setting was lovely. Tranquil and spacious house and gardens. Wonderful views. Well equipped and clean villa. The hosts were excellent and kept in touch to check all was well. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and would definitely stay there again, if visiting Kefalonia. Location was close to Sami, the next village ten minutes away, for the ferry to Ithaca.

Located just above the beach, as we were in the Summer Villa, we had the most amazing view in the front! Convenient with 2 bedrooms(in room bathroom in both)… just exactly enough for a family of 4. Zoe was really nice, so as the cleaning lady. Restaurants nearby, but we had a car rented that made it more comfortable. Thank you!

Amazing town.

Amazing town. We holidayed in October and the town doesn’t shut down. Went there most days, great restaurants, bars and lots of different shops. Beautiful seafront, lots to see and do. Amazing bakery’s on front and turtles in harbour.

Great food, rubbish beach, but nicely compact, and therefore walkable, even given the odd hill. Demographic was very much towards the elderly end of the scale rather than youthful, which is kinda expected. Very few ashtrays around (?), so lots of cigarette butts, everywhere. Also, worth mentioning that my ear was bent on many an occasion by a local moaning about the price of housing/cost of living/shortness of the season. Apologies I said, but not my fault! Worth a visit if you've never been.

Sami is a small port town, there are plenty of restaurants and bars to recharge. The shops are OK, but regarding quality there are only a few. What I liked is that there are some shops selling handcrafted and homemade products. It was not really busy regarding night life and tourists, I heard that it was more vibrant in former times. For me was the second time in Sami and I value it a lot due to the surrounding beaches and the friendly people.

Paradise Pool Bar is exceptional.

Paradise Pool Bar is exceptional. The food and the atmosphere are a credit to the team! Argo is a great place to eat and drink, any time of the day. Simple food very well done, with excellent attention to detail and service. Martha's Cafe is a traditional meeting spot that gives you a true sense of Greek life. Octopus Meze Bar is a great place to base yourself for a day at the beach with good food and service. Rent a car at Odysseus Palace and explore a little further!

It is so pretty, still has it's traditional Greek charm. Great restaurants and lovely beach for snorkelling on the way to Paradise Restaurant. Sea crystal clear and warm. We visited here 34 years ago and yes it has changed but not too much and did not disappoint. Could have stayed for months! The locals were very welcoming. Can't wait to return.

You can tell by the size of some of the yachts that are moored here, it is a more expensive resort. However the warmth and service from the staff at the shops and restaurant remains. You are able to take day ferries to other islands from here

Easy ferry connection, large market square with lots of restaurants/bars/cafes and a really good ice cream shop, IScream. Get away from the town for the more remote bits with superb restaurants and beach spots out of the way and easy to get around by car.

Katelios was a very peaceful, relaxing place for a beach holiday with no loud clubs and bars. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, and lovely atmosphere, but as we are non-drivers it was slightly limited for a 2 week stay. The sea was beautiful, with clear warm water, but the main beach was a little disappointing , small and not very sandy. Another beach close by was much bigger but with pebbles. It helps if staying in this location to be a driver as the bus service is very limited and taxis are expensive. With a car you can reach nicer beaches more easily.

Lourdhata is a quiet resort and that’s why we like it and keep coming back. There are many restaurants and facilities but it’s not a party place. Suitable for all ages and abilities, it never fails to delight.

beautiful, if you're looking for peace and quiet and just to chill away from crowds and mass tourism you have come to the right place. A few hotels, taverns and one shop we love it. La Travena Opposite Astra Village is a beautiful restaurant run by the most amazing women and the food is excellent, lovely people. Wouldn't go by the bus time table displayed on the bus stop they are out of date. ask around and see if a local can give you an up-to-date one. But would recommend the round trip to see the island and the turtles in Agostini. We did the island tour with Kefalonia tours and that was good as well.
