This beautiful place exceeded my expectations and I feel very lucky to have stayed here before it gets too popular. Komang & Jeru are amazing hosts, they welcomed me along with their 5 beautiful little girls and the staff making me feel at home. Always kind, discreet and thoughtful! The location is truly unique, immersed in the heart of the valley between forests and rice fields, this island in the middle of two rivers is the ideal place for those who love nature and tranquility, perfect for relaxing and I suggest staying at least 4/5 days. The bungalow is really cozy and the outdoor bathroom is just amazing ( taking a hot shower while it’s raining is a must!) . They offer several service and tours and the food is great ! you need your own transportation to go around otherwise they can rent you a scooter ! a simple thank you is not enough for these guys ,I will definitely come back soon as I can !❤️

Catherine the owner was absolutely fantastic. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for her or her amazing staff. Food was superb and breakfast was available any time you wanted it. Breakfast was also exceptionally good. Our room was stunning with everything we could possibly need. We will definitely return if we are in Bali. The perfect location if you're looking to explore the rural and authentic side of Bali. Stunning views from our villa and private infinity pool. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, and always went above and beyond to ensure we had a good stay. The food was all delicious, especially the outstanding 4 course breakfast which we had included with our room. Most days we used the in-house facilities such as the spa for massages, and the private gym. We also booked various excursions through the hotel and their contacts, which helped us to explore Bali in ways we never thought possible! We would recommend Lempuyang to anyone looking to explore East Bali - 10 out of 10!

5 stars!! This is paradise on Earth!! We had the most amazing stay in Sidemen. We stayed in Joglo.. the private pool, amazing views and stunning interior made this trip outstanding! It truly is the most perfect honeymoon destination. We stayed for 2 nights and booked to do the scooter tour which was amazing.. little touches like bringing a towel for us to the waterfall so that we could get in. We also had a couples Balinese massage and it was the best massage I've ever had. Breakfast was served in our room each morning and the hotel food and drink was all just amazing!! We cannot rave enough about it!

Just a fantastic place. The China Villa is furnished with beautiful Balinese furniture, it has 4 rooms with en-suite bathrooms, a beautiful outdoor area (a dining table for 10, a kid's table, a bed, 2 sofas, a huge sitting area, sun beds...), a kid's and adult's pool, just for the China Villa. It is right at the beach, but it's not so easy to enter the ocean because of the rocky beach. The service is just outstanding. Wayan, Made and Intan cooked for us and were just perfect.

Everything. The place is like heaven on earth. The garden with its 100 species of plants is amazing. The silence, the piece, the colorful flowers.. The staff is super nice,the spa and massages amazing. We also took the complimentary trekking which I strongly recomand as the guide brings you to the foundation near by, and the house of the ibu founder, explains you a lot about the Balinese culture and about all the flowers, plants and agricultural Balinese method.

The view from the villa above the rice fields and from refreshing infinite pool was just what we needed after few hours of driving to this gorgeous place. Everything clean, staff so welcoming and helpfull. Great romantic dinner in restaurant. Higly recommended. We stayed just one night, but if you could extend it to at least two to enjoy all those walks around.

This is the best place in Amed for us. The view from the room is just amazing and you can just relax and enjoy the ocean from the room. Loved Amed but was only there for 2 nights, would definately...

Loved Amed but was only there for 2 nights, would definately go back for longer. Beautiful people and amazing local food. Great spot if you dont want the hussle and bussle of Kuta/Seminyak or Legian. The black beach was gorgeous and the sunsets were amazing, Great place for divers/snorkelling and fishing.

The best restaurant in Indonesia is the Asri in this hotel. The food is outrageously good and quite inexpensive! The hotel is gorgeous with great views from every cottage. The service is amazing and the staff quickly learn your name and what you like/don't like. I was not bothered by insects at this hotel at all. Highly recommend for a splurge!

I have been travelling around Bali for some time and I have come to a conclusion. Bali is about Earth Energy and there are 4 elements in which it excels. Central Bali, Ubud and heading North for Jungle Energy....intense and slightly chaotic. The Peninsula for expansive Ocean Energy, connecting you to something bigger, and Rock Energy...grounding, stabilising. Then you have Candidasa. Candidasa is the Energy of the Hills, the Green Healing Hills. Take your bike off the main road and you will be driving closer and closer to the foot, then keep driving, up and up, for absolutely breath taking views of dense greenery with traditional structures scattered in the distance. Breathtaking.

Padang bai is a transit town for the ferries.

Padang bai is a transit town for the ferries. There are plenty of eateries around. The beach is unfortunately littered with rubbish and stray dogs roam around. It’s not somewhere to stay for long. There is a dive centre so it might be good for that, but for me as a general tourist I wouldn’t take a holiday here. I just stayed for the fast boats.

A little village with one main street.

A little village with one main street. Lots of diving opportunities. There was a 3 day festival happening when we were here that had a night market and dancing, including a fire dance. We got to mingle with the locals, kind folk, which was nice. It's a pretty easy scoot to some of the temples, rice fields, waterfalls, beaches, and attractions in the area. Decent local restaurants, good massages, good accessible shore dives. Easy enough to find a scooter rental for 70k-85k per day, ask the owner of where you're staying. During our stay in late October, there was a lot of haze in the air (maybe from burning?) so unfortunately, there weren't good sunrises or sunsets.

An off beat location, which is actually peaceful and great...

An off beat location, which is actually peaceful and great for nature lovers, adventure seekers and history lovers. It is close to the mother temple of Bali (15 minutes), Blue lagoon diving and Snorkeling, p Pura Tirta and the most amazing rafting site. So a 3-night stay at this place is ideal to cover east Bali and then you can go to Ubud.

We stayed just one night to visit the Gates of Heaven. I feel is enough to see the surroundings and have a feel of the place. We found the tickets a bit expensive. I mean is a nice place but not to pay 10$. You can see Tirtagangga in 20 minutes, depending on whether you are an instagramer and you take selfies in every corner, then you can stay there for over an hour, although is very difficult to take good selfies as there are people everywhere. Around the entrance, there are a few restaurants and shops. But please I would say to the owners or whoever takes care of this place, tell people not to feed the fish. They are huge! and it's because the shops nearby sell food so you can take a picture with the fish.

Seraya is definitely a place to recommend. If you are looking for authenticity, pristine beaches (Virgin beach), local culture (Lempuyang Temple, Tirta Gangga Water Palace & Local Coffee Farm, etc.), you will definitely love the place!

Besakih accommodations have a beautiful location in small village, with amazing views across the valleys. The hike of Mount Agung is challenging in all possible ways and attempting during day time (heat- a big part is without shade) or without a guide in our opinion is dangerous. If travelling to Besakih you might consider having a car or motorbike as there are a lot of dogs on the street that bark and approach you unfriendly. we managed to use the transport from the accommodation. The Besakih Temple is mind blowing, the guide we had was very knowledgeable and very good at his job. Would strongly recommend visiting besakih for a minimum of 3 nights.

Amed was lovely, found some great eating places that were...

Amed was lovely, found some great eating places that were really reasonable. Gusto, Galangal, Warranga Amed with live music and fabulous hosts, Sunset view restaurant )the lower key more traditional one) the other Sunset view was too upmarket and commercialised. We loved riding around on the scooters and felt it was quiet enough to feel safe. Really enjoyed getting up into the hills from there to see the rural lifestyles.
