This palce is wonderful, ths staff are so nice, specially HAMDI, who made sure every detail of our stay was perfect. Location is a bit isolated, but it's great for relaxing. Room and pool were amazing. We loved the food and the restaurant. We rented a scooter to move around the island and had an amazing time.

Catherine the owner was absolutely fantastic. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for her or her amazing staff. Food was superb and breakfast was available any time you wanted it. Breakfast was also exceptionally good. Our room was stunning with everything we could possibly need. We will definitely return if we are in Bali. This is such a beautiful hotel in the absolute middle of nowhere! You cannot have a better place to stay. Very close to Tirtaganga, Lahangan Sweet and Amed and super quiet. We did a hike from Tenganan to Tirtaganga (around 12 km) and the hotel booked us a great guide (Toto) and a super sweet and funny driver (Komang Abong) which I highly recommend. The staff of the hotel is amazing and helpful, you can also book a scooter directly from the hotel. The food there is great too, albeit a little more expensive than a local warung.

The resort is new and so everything is very clean, tidy and well maintained. The pool area is lovely with comfy sun loungers. The rooms are nicely decorated and liked the fact the rooms can accommodate a family of 3. It is lovely and quiet and so you can get a great night's sleep.     First of all the staff.. Nyoman and Made and Ketut made this place extra special. Their humour and their kindness and hospitality was amazing and made the best breakfast ever. Will always remember them and hope to meet again. Felt like family. The villas were rustic and traditional and lovely outdoor bathrooms in some. Huge pools in both and we loved the 3 BR and 5 BR for different reasons. Felt sooo lucky to stay an extra 5 days in larger villa. Definitely coming back

    The room is beautiful overlooking the green garden. The bed is very comfortable. It is super relaxing here. We had a Balinese couples massage with scrub and they gave us a flower bath at the end.     Amed is nice but if you don’t have a scooter or your own...

    Amed is nice but if you don’t have a scooter or your own transport, expect to pay high prices for transport compared to other parts of Bali. Also people there seem a bit sad and not as friendly and happy as other parts of Bali. The beach is nice and the place is very quiet and not overcrowded, which is great but if you are looking for that lovely Balinese culture and hospitality, you might struggle to find it here.

    Sidemen is a beautiful village, quiet and reminds you of how you imagine Bali used to be like. Having said that, it has some top eating places. Rice fields all around, silver classes, cooking classes, place to relax and unwind. Highly recommend.

    Contrary to some reviews of Padangbai being a dodgy back...

    Contrary to some reviews of Padangbai being a dodgy back water town, we found it to be a hidden gem. Lovely beaches and good places to swim and snorkel. Much smaller than I anticipated and far less humbug and mass tourism than other parts of Bali. Would definitely recommend staying here a couple of days, especially if catching an onward boat to other islands in Indonesia.

    I have been travelling around Bali for some time and I have come to a conclusion. Bali is about Earth Energy and there are 4 elements in which it excels. Central Bali, Ubud and heading North for Jungle Energy....intense and slightly chaotic. The Peninsula for expansive Ocean Energy, connecting you to something bigger, and Rock Energy...grounding, stabilising. Then you have Candidasa. Candidasa is the Energy of the Hills, the Green Healing Hills. Take your bike off the main road and you will be driving closer and closer to the foot, then keep driving, up and up, for absolutely breath taking views of dense greenery with traditional structures scattered in the distance. Breathtaking.

    A perfect place to dive and learn diving Tulamben is a peaceful little town and an amazing spot for both scuba diving and freediving. The water is calm, visibility is great, and marine life is rich, from colourful coral to bumphead parrotfish. The famous USAT Liberty wreck is a must-see, accessible right from shore. It’s also a great place to learn diving – many friendly, professional instructors and dive centres around. Whether you're a beginner or ean xperienced diver, you'll love it here. Highly recommended for ocean lovers!

    An off beat location, which is actually peaceful and great...

    An off beat location, which is actually peaceful and great for nature lovers, adventure seekers and history lovers. It is close to the mother temple of Bali (15 minutes), Blue lagoon diving and Snorkeling, p Pura Tirta and the most amazing rafting site. So a 3-night stay at this place is ideal to cover east Bali and then you can go to Ubud.

    We stayed just one night to visit the Gates of Heaven.

    We stayed just one night to visit the Gates of Heaven. I feel is enough to see the surroundings and have a feel of the place. We found the tickets a bit expensive. I mean is a nice place but not to pay 10$. You can see Tirtagangga in 20 minutes, depending on whether you are an instagramer and you take selfies in every corner, then you can stay there for over an hour, although is very difficult to take good selfies as there are people everywhere. Around the entrance, there are a few restaurants and shops. But please I would say to the owners or whoever takes care of this place, tell people not to feed the fish. They are huge! and it's because the shops nearby sell food so you can take a picture with the fish.

    It's a surfers paradise but not for us old couples. The place will be very nice if the owner take time to make it clean like clean sheets, new mattress with on bed bugs. The bathroom and toilets spruced up. Nothing much to see there except to surf and relax.

    I went to Amed to learn Free Diving.

    I went to Amed to learn Free Diving. Its 3 hour from Bali airport by car. a nice small village. Many good restaurants and Massage Places and Yoga Places. No Shopping just enjoy the beach. Can rent a scooter or use taxi to get around Amed. The beach has coral and fishes and turtles. The water is dark blue and the sand is nearly black .
