Great location, less than 10 min walk from Tua Pejat Harbour and 15 min walk from Jati Beach. Close to warungs and local mart. Big comfy bed, hot water shower, good WiFi connectivity and AC in room. Recommended for a short stay.

We wanted somewhere different to spend Christmas and came across Valhalla house online, the house was as amazing as it looks in the pictures and was right on the beach that you have to yourself! The house was clean & comfortable and had everything we needed - water, towels, cooking facilities etc! As the island was quite remote we were struggling to find how to get there and get around but Marcelo, the host, went above and beyond to help us out with flights and ferries. His communication was great, and he gave us some great food recommendations as well as a contact for surf lessons, which we all really enjoyed on Christmas day, and was just so helpful with all of the questions we had! Marcelo also put us in touch with a local, Dolman, who drove us to and from the airport, even though the roads were bad he made it so easy for us to get around by providing bikes at a really good price. Overall we had an amazing stay at Valhalla and would recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing time on a paradise island, surrounded by local culture, beautiful beaches and lots surfing!!

This was definitely a hidden gem.
The guys who run this new homestay started with a cafe/bar and recently built two simple but very comfortable cabins right on the beach with a stunning view. From the moment we arrived the service was top notch.
A fresh coconut and some fruit to start with.

Lances left surfcamp is probably the best place you will find on the island. Bob and his team are super accommodating and help you with everything you need and want. They helped with pick-up and drop off in the harbour, got us scooters first thing in the morning, showed us the surf spots, took us fishing and made bbq on the beach for us. Just amazing.
The bungalow is on the beach and you get served breakfast to it every morning. It can’t get better than that! The bungalow is simple, but it has everything you nee; AC, mosquito net, private bathroom and wifi. If you’re looking for a true Mentawai experience, this is it!

Villa Tala is situated directly on the beachfront. It’s the perfect location to explore Sipora. You can walk from the ferry and be on the beach in seconds. The staff at Villa Tala did everything to make our stay enjoyable. They organised car and bike hire and even ordered us food to be delivered to the villa when it was raining. We felt so at home here and didn’t want to leave. The breakfast they provide is also delicious!

Suzi's is really pleasant and friendly homestay, with amazing people.The owner speaks great English and all the stuff are very helpful, whatever you need.Organizing surfing boat, getting around the island.
Suzi makes sure the place is incredibly clean and linen and towels smell so good 👍🏻.She offers a laundry service,too.
Food was very tasty.We rented a scooter on the spot for a great price.Little shops are nearby even by foot.
You have a coffee and tea and drinking water all day long and fridge with drinks and beers for fair prices.

In Taupejat luckily there aren't many tourists yet, the beach not crowded. But the beach and especially the surrounding small islands very butiful, You can snorkel. If you can ride a motorbike, you can explore the whole area. There are not too much dining option, but are enough.

Islamic village, they still try to smile on the tourists, but you do not feel it is honest anymore. Some nice resorts in the surrounding islands.
Food supply is very poor on the island.
For surfing and even for nicer surround is better to go down to Katiet, the other village on the island
