We stayed here from Dec 29 2024 to Jan 2 2025. I am writing this review soon after we reached home. This was one of our several visits to the Taj in the past few years and, incredibly, every visit tops the previous one. Often, one wants to try a new place although with the Taj, this is not the case. Somehow, it draws you back again and again. Sakshi helped check us in and stayed in touch throughout the stay. She took over all our matters as soon as we checked in. Which wasn’t easy given the hotel was at near full capacity and the pressure of new year eve preparations. We can’t thank her and Ritesh (the GM of the property) for making our family feel super special. The Taj Mahal Palace wing sets the benchmark for warmth and luxury. One has to stay here to set yourself a benchmark of what hotel stays can be like. If your travels bring you to Mumbai, stay here. Even if it is for a day. It makes life worth living!

Beautiful property with history, art and antique touches through out! Pool opens early which is great of you need to do laps. Lovely evening lounge vibe. Everything was top notch. It was a wonderful experience! The history of tour was a lovely unexpected extra and I recommend to everyone (it is complimentary and worth it). The sweet Mr. Newton is THE guide! The place has a modern green vibe that i haven't seen in many boutique hotels in the world. The rooms are spotless clean with all facilities and accessories available on request. The hotel leave a trolley of teas, Coffees, cold water & snacks on each floor for you to take at your leisure and it is available 24 hours. The hotel restaurant on the ground floor called Chirp has delicious Vegetarian foods and the breakfast spread in the morning has so many options. They have a celebratory chef who makes signature breakfast dishes. The standards at the hotel breakfast is 5 star allot on offer. The location is right in the heart of Pune in the Fergusson Road and Deccan area. All social amenities, restaurants shops etc are within and the metro as well within walking distance 10 mins. The staff are extremely helpful and polite. I forgot my ear phones on the bed and they contacted me and sent a picture before i even realised i had left them.. The front office staff Mr. Ankush at the reception coordinated with the Uber driver and they sent them to me at the Pune Airport before i boarded my flight to Goa. My family we extremely happy with their stay at the hotel.

I grew up in Mumbai. Lots of fond memories. Great city with great work culture, nice shopping, restaurants, reasonable weather. Infrastructure is a dampener but the Mumbai spirit is helpful, indomitable and never gives up. My favourite place in Mumbai is Bandra. It has glamour, the sea, lovely quaint Christian bungalows that builders have always been trying to acquire, lovely eating and drinking places, great bookshops, a super cool attitude and a generally friendly and helpful public.

Pune is my old haunt.

Pune is my old haunt. From NDA days in 1967 till date have stayed in Pune many times. It is changing fast. I miss old Pune. Old Marzorin, Budhani wafers, Pasteur Bakery, Kayani biscuits. Missed the old landmark; The Westend Cinema.

The photos shown on site are of probebly 10 years + old photos, abosolutly worst, room smells bad, toilet flush do not work, Breakfast is said free but the caretaker demands money. almost everything is in broken condition, cleanlis]ness is missing, dirty bed sheets and pillow covers, basic doors & slidings are broken, no Barbeque, kitchen has only sink, no plates, no gas, nothing, absolutely Nothing is in working condition please dont even think of going hear even if it is offered free. Booking.com should not list this property.

As you walk through the holy streets, you can literally feel the fragrance of Baba’s blessings in the air. When you touch the cool marble floors and enter the Samadhi Mandir, there’s an instant wave of peace and devotion that fills your heart. Mahabaleshwar is ideal to visit in the rains if you like the rains and fog all the time. It rains continuously and is very cold. But I loved to visit during the rains as I enjoy the rains in the mountains, its a different experience. The Mahabaleshwar tourist market is also very good for shopping;, you get a lot of things there.

Its a place with bad roads, people have very poor traffic sense and civility. The Sula vineyard was overrun with people, the jyotirling temple had a 3 hour queue at 6:30am. Food options were limited. Overall preferred places like Aurangabad and Kolhapur which we also covered in this trip

Ajanta-Ellora Caves are very near to Kolhapur. We reached Kolhapur in evening and Ellora caves needs time to explore so we could not go but 500 Mts before Ellora Caves there is 12th Jyotirlinga....Ghrishweshwar Mahadev...When we visited the temple, surprisingly there was no crowd and were directly allowed to enter the Garbha Griha and touch the ShivaLinga which is unlike other Jyotirlinga.

One whole mountain carved into A temple which was partly destroyed by Aurangzeb a mughal king ,because his religion directs to do so. The next temple is Bhima Shanker one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, the most attractive thing is the natural beauty around this temple . This is a reserved forest area and purest wet fog is seen almost through out the year. You find yourselves in the mid of clouds feeling mysticaly.You can stay there in the forests with due permission of Forest department. Plan for atleast 3 days .

If you are flying in and out of Nagpur to visit Tadoba, then...

If you are flying in and out of Nagpur to visit Tadoba, then a day's stay is enough for you too see the places and eat the local food. It is not a big city and excepting a few spots, there is nothing you can do for more than a day. We spent two days in Tadoba and 1 day in Nagpur and was enough.
