Far and away the best place we stayed in Iceland (and we stayed in some nice places!) This gorgeous, family-run manor house was full of charm and coziness -- truly nothing anodyne about it. The staff was so lovely and the food was phenomenal. We would return to southern Iceland just to stay here again.

We loved everything about this place. The room was huge, clean, quite, warm and comfortable, with a view on a field with mountains. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was exceptional, During northern light they switched off the lights, so there was no light polution, Additional bonus from the hotel was that they had a horse stables and the one was able to go there, pet them take a photos, and it was absolutely relaxing, Loved it

The set up was beautiful with a really high attention to detail. The showers were the highest quality, nothing like campsite facilities. The shared areas were stunning. The tent was warm and cosy and everything you could wish for was provided. The kitchen has full cooking facilities: 2 ovens, 2 hot plates, microwave, fridge and all pots and pans.

The hotel was located a bit further from the small town of Kirkjubæjarklaustur and is a very nice, clean and cosy place! Fantastic hotel in an exceptional location. The room had the most beautiful views over the mountains. It is modern and minimalistic but with a cozy feel. The outdoor relaxation pool is lovely. Having to 'get around Ring Road' definitely has its drawbacks. The biggest one we found was when you found a great place, your time there was limited. We did stop for the Lava Show in Vik, which was great, and we had dinner there as well. There was not enough time to really see everything before having to move on.

The waters and views of the glaciers viewed from a far are beautiful. Also some of the little food places reflect the cosiness of a working port. Quaint working port village. Worth a stop or basing yourself there to visit the surrounding geography.

Iceland is a very expensive place to travel and this guest house was average price for Iceland but the quality of the rooms were low average. Our room had such a bad slope on it we had to sleep at the other end of the bed with our heads above our feet. The bathroom had a toilet in the middle of the room, you had to walk around it to get to the shower and even though the room came with breakfast included it was very poor quality.

I am sure there will be more activity and beautiful place to see in a nice day or summer. We are luck to get good temp in our trip (most day above the freeze and one day reached about 10C). We are not luck since there is no sun in all the trip except when we fly back to US. The mountain and beach are great even with cloud and frog.

Great place in south of Iceland.

Great place in south of Iceland. The town of "flowers" is a good name for this place, as it is the warmest place in Iceland, where they grow flowers and enjoy life. It has the best swimming pool of the whole country, with an amazing "steam room" that is heated with steam straight from the vulcanic core of our planet.
