Definitely a memorable experience and would even dare to say, a mandatory stop on your Icelandic roadtrip. Not only was the breakfast the best food we had in Iceland with a great variety of fresh dishes, the location of the hotel is unique (our room had a view to the lush green mountains that are incredibly scenic), the staff was extremely kind and attentive (with a special shout out to the Portuguese gentleman) and facilities makes you stay for a longer period of time (i.e., Spa, thermal baths, ice showers and relaxation rooms overlooking the glaciers and giving an great sense of calmness and relaxation). No kettle in the room, but can ask for one. Love the hot tub during sunset. Room is clean and comfortable. Location is good since we need to drive early for ice cave tour.

Was not sure about this place as it is unassuming on the outside. The room was cozy with comfortable beds. The shower had super hot water, which I love. Dinner prices were high, but the dinner was fantastic. Take the time to go on the short hike behind the hotel to the glacier.

Just 5 minutes’ drive from Höfn in south-east Iceland, this hotel is found along Route 1, close to the country’s largest glacier Vatnajökull.

Conveniently located off the ring road, before turning heading on to Hofn. Nice big room. It was located in another building on the site, separate from the reception building. It had a big lounge area which made for a nice place to relax outside fo our room but still in the warmth.
