BaccoFurore is a fantastic, cosy hotel with high standards and friendly service. It's hard to choose but I think what we liked best was amazing view from our balcony, the Michelin star restaurant with really, really delicious food, the room design, fresh, scented linens every day, tasty breakfast and the ability to park your car in the secure and free parking. We also like the idea of using WhatsApp to choose what you want for breakfast and to be in touch with the staff, so they can inform you about e.g. live music etc. We rented a car, but we also travel by buses and the bus stop is next to the hotel, which is another good thing worth mentioning. Our stay at the BaccoFurore will with no doubt remain unforgettable for us.

A fantastic owner!Since we were traveling by car, we asked her various questions multiple times before departure. She always responded quickly, patiently answered and advised us, again and again, which was touching. Upon arrival, the landlord couple stood outside the hotel to greet us and helped us carry our luggage upstairs to the room, as if welcoming their own friends. The bus stop is right at the hotel entrance, which is very convenient. There's also a small supermarket where you can buy discounted tickets and fresh fruit. The sunset here is the most beautiful along the entire Amalfi Coast. Highly recommend this charming and fragrant little inn!

it's been more than a wonderful stay. after hundred curves on the road, when we reached the property, our tiredness had gone in the wind. Chilling out at the balcony near the sunset time was superb. big green olives (super delicious) were served along with the welcome drink... with the comfortable live music. that was very bellisimo welcoming moment. we love loads of things there... we love the location with very convenient boat shuttle and car shuttle to the town. we love fitness both indoor and outdoor under the lemon trees... with the bicycle facing the ocean cliff... it is very beautiful sunlight around 4-5PM too. we love concierge suggesting delicioso ristorante and menus. we love staff welcoming and helping everything we need. we love the breakfast full of variety of menus and ingredients, we had wonderful 4 BF meals. we love wine tasting with sommelier who also has knowledge of olive oil tasting too. we love the rabbit menu at the hotel restaurant too... that was beyond expectation. it is huge too for 2 ppl. we love saying our room number.... 8 and 1/2 we felt very special every single time we say it. couldn't explain more.... there are many detailed moments that captured our memories... until we meet again. Ciao!

The staff at this small hotel are wonderful, friendly and helpful. The location is excellent overlooking the beach and an easy 5-10 minute walk to the ferry. Plenty of restaurants and places to enjoy an afternoon drink. Our room was large with a balcony and sea view. The breakfast was the best we have had in Italy with good variety, delivered to our room each morning. The nearby Path of Lemons walk that links to Minori beach was easily accessed from this hotel.

Amalfi Coast highlights

Conca Dei Marini

Home to the Emerald Grotto, sea-lovers can snorkel in the crystalline waters, while foodies can savour Sfogliatella, a sweet shell-shaped pastry from the Convent of Santa Rosa.

‘Painted Village’ of Furore

Small but full of character, this stunning hillside town gets its other moniker from the colourful open-air museum of murals lining its bougainvillea-lined streets.

Romantic Ravello

While Annunziata Historic Building hosts recitals, Villa Rufolo also delights with spectacular views and concerts in its gorgeous gardens.

Handcrafted goods from the Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast is a home to unique artisan products. Positano is known for its linen beachwear, while Maiori is where you can shop for handmade Gladiator leathersandals.

Natural caves of Praiano

Set in natural caves, revellers can head to Africana Famous Club and admire the shimmering waters below. Extravagant live performance and lobster dinners are also on offer.

The ceramics trail of Vietri sul Mare

While colourful ceramics can be admired up and down the Amalfi Coast, the traditions of the master ceramist are a closely guarded secret in this picturesque coastal town.

The fishing village and anchovy paradise of Cetara

Experts at preserving anchovies, trattorias here are known for their fresh homemade pasta with fermented anchovy essence Colatura di Alici, topped with crunchy pumpkin.

Lemony pastries at Piazza Cantilena

Sal de Riso Patisserie is perfect for people watching with some chilled lemon mousse, a zesty lemon sorbet, or a generous slice of pear and ricotta cake.

Historic Piazza del Duomo

The grand staircase at 9th-century Amalfi Cathedral is a must-see. Sample chocolate-covered orange candy overlooking the bougainvillea terraces and turquoise waters.

Sunbathing along the Amalfi Coast

Crystal clear waters and endless stretches of golden sands run from Duoglio Beach in Amalfi to Cavallo Morto Beach in Maiori, while the hidden Laurito Beach near Positano is wonderfully secluded.

FAQs about hotels in Amalfi Coast

A Feast For the Eyes

Comprised of brightly coloured villages cascading down sheer cliffs, the Amalfi Coast is on the opposite side of a peninsula from Sorrento. Between the UNESCO World Heritage-listed villages are lemon groves and winding roads hugging the coastline that are definitely not for the nervous driver!

In wonderful Positano, delicately positioned houses somehow manage to cling to the cliffs. The next village along is Praiano, on a flatter piece of land and with a 12th-century church. Furore in the hills above a fjord has its own winery.

Amalfi itself is picturesque, as it rises from the harbour to the top of its 13th-century cathedral. As the coast’s largest town, it has a good selection of bars, restaurants and accommodation. Adjoining it is Atrani, a fishing village with a dramatic, beachside road supported by arches.

High above is Ravello whose Villa Rufolo’s landscaped gardens offer magnificent panoramas of the coastline below. Due to its position, this town boasts the Amalfi Coast hotels with the best views and, of course, prices to match. Back at sea level Minori and Maiori have the longest beaches.

Due of all this splendor, you might struggle to find cheap Amalfi Coast hotels, but there is also a selection of affordable apartments and B&Bs on Booking.com, and in any case the fantastic views makes the price well worth it.

It´s beautiful, no doubt.

It´s beautiful, no doubt. And I certainly rate it higher than Positano. But it´s so so busy, full of groups, and access is agonisingly slow, the infrastructure being inadequate for the amount of traffic. It feels like a place setup for tourists, which detracts from its natural beauty. I prefer the grittiness of Napoli, which for all its troubles, feels authentically Italian.

This hotel was perfectly situated just about 50 meters from the ferry drop-off point. The onsite restaurant was excellent, and there were several excellent choices for dinner within steps of the hotel. Other than "squeaky" floors (just slip your shoes off), we had not a single negative issue with the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. From Luca in the restaurant to Cito in the bar, everyone was very polite and professional. The views were extraordinary. We were there at Halloween, and the kids in costumes were delightful. My wife's birthday the next day, they had a cake made for her at breakfast. Molto bene!

Lots of ceramic shops selling almost the same items. many good restaurants within walking distance. Arrive by train then take the accensore (elevator) down to the town - the lift-well is lined with blue tiles and fish. Gorgeous. The ferry stops down at the bay and bus 68 takes you up to the town for 1.4euro. Buy the ticket from the ladies in the ceramic shop near the bus stop before you board and validate on the bus.

Agerola provides an escape from the tourist busy towns on...

Agerola provides an escape from the tourist busy towns on the Amalfi coast. It is higher in elevation than the towns of Amalfi, Positano and Maiori. These towns are port towns and in the busy travel months are always full of tourists. However, there is more to do in these towns than in Agerola, and if you plan to only stay in one of those towns, only go between 2 close towns, spend your vacation time on the beach, then I would recommend to stay in one of the coast towns. If you want a more central point to all of these and other towns (ex. Sorrento, Ravello, etc...) and plan to travel each day to a new town and a quiet place to rest at night, then Agerola is a great place to stay. If you stay in Agerola and since the roads are one lane both ways, you have to factor in travel times to all other towns (in case you need to catch a ferry, have dinner reservations, etc...).

Bad and shocking experience!

Bad and shocking experience! Recent blackmail and harassment due to 7/10 rating at Booking.com and because of this, the owner, Daniele Cioffi permitted himself to rate my company 1/5 in my google website just because he was unhappy and unsatisfactory with the rating! Anyone has the liberty and the right to rate and to give a review. It's an opinion given by the traveller to the owner. I just want to give my opinion so that other travellers will know what to look for in the apartment. If my review is not justified, the owner, Daniele Cioffi do not need to be afraid and to be aggressive. By attacking and by giving low rating to my company, it shows that he is guilty and he is afraid. My company has not given Mr Daniele Coiffi any service and he is NOT my client. He has no right to give any review or any rating to my company! His attitude is not to be encouraged and do think twice and do reconsider to stay at his place as there are many other accommodations available. His accommodation is not the best of all. There is nice accommodation in the centre of Ravello, a small town where parking is in the centre near all accommodation. Charges of parking is everywhere in Ravello wherever you stay. Please take note that the town is up on top of a hill and Mr Cioffi apartment to the centre of Ravello (restaurants and shops), need to climb up many many stairs to arrive. It takes about 15-20mins to arrive the centre. It can be exhausting.

Praiano is a perfect place to stay on the Amalfi Coast.

Praiano is a perfect place to stay on the Amalfi Coast. Nice and quiet but with local shops and restaurants. One way on bus to Positano and other way to Amalfi in a short time, so very easy to reach all areas of Amalfi coast. The little local supermarket was perfect for buying supplies. A good range of restaurants in beautiful romantic settings overlooking the coast. The church is divine and the people are very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend Praiano for staying on the Amalfi Coast.

It was the perfect home base for the Amalfi Coast. We took the ferry to hop between the towns and were able to take our time and savor the each town on our own schedule and ferry back to Minori to recover from the massive crowds. Minori itself is also beautiful to explore. The ferry rides take your breath away each time seeing the coast from the sea.

Perfect location for exploring the Amalfi Coast.

Perfect location for exploring the Amalfi Coast. Half an hour driving to Amalfi, half an hour driving to Positano. For hiking the "Path of gods" you start immediately at the residence. For getting to the "Fiordo" you descend the one thousand stairs just below the apartment. Small market shop and minimarket just near by. Also very good restaurants just near the house. Recommended

Check the bus times as they are less frequent to Scala.

Check the bus times as they are less frequent to Scala. You need to download the app UnicoCampania as they don't accept cash on the bus. We had a car, but it is expensive to park in Amalfi and any of the nearby towns. You can only park in the blue bays and you have to buy a ticket from the machine. There is virtually no free parking in the local towns. Scala is close to Amalfi and Ravello, which are lovely places to visit.
