The breakfast was great with eggs made to order and mimosas. The staff was wonderful, professional, and courteous. They made sure everything combined for a wonderful stay. It was the third time we have taken family to Aquatio.

A truly exceptional hotel — a refined blend of luxury, tradition, art, and minimalist design. Perfectly located in the heart of the old town, it offers guests a unique journey through time, history, and the rich cultural heritage of this extraordinary place. Special thanks to the gracious lady who welcomed us so warmly — her kindness made our stay even more memorable. Breakfast was exceptional — beautifully presented and delicious.

A truly unique and memorable stay—our first time sleeping in a cave! Francesco was so warm and welcoming, greeting us with coffee and croissants and sharing a map to walk us through Matera’s rich history and must-see spots. The cave itself was a beautiful loft-style flat, cozy yet spacious. Such a special experience—we’re so glad we stayed here!

What a wonderful way to look back and understand the culture of the day (400 BC) in beautiful Matera. MOYΣEION recreates the experience with the design of the hotel, the people, food, pool, furniture, architecture, right down to the dinner plates, cups and cutlery. The staff are all trained in the fields they love - like archaeology and share the journey. They also demonstrate beautiful music using instruments of the day. It's incredible. On top of this, the chef does an amazing modern interpretation of food from 400BC. It is all very cool. It is totally worth going with the flow and fully embracing and immersing yourself in the experience. We did, and we were rewarded for it. Finally, the staff are exceptional. So kind and attentive. They make it perfect.

The breakfast was nice. You could order also extra's (eggs any style) I Loved the rooms (great architect....) and the bar (with the cistern) The bartender was very nice and knew a lot about Matera and the hotel. The Woman at the frontdesk was very good and very nice to all the guests and arranged very nice restaurants when we wished. I had a very nice stay at this beautiful hotel.

Location, luxurious room with comfortable beds. Property had an elevator to save us having to lug our heavy luggage up the stairs. Sumptuous breakfast. Roof top had nice view of Duomo tower. Owner manager Paolo was pleasant and very helpful - his restaurant suggestions were excellent. When our booking for a tour was misplaced, he cycled down to the tour agency to help us resolve it.

This place is absolutely unique. Very rare type of luxury. Don't expect huge flat screen TVs, latest tech etc. - this is much better than that. Located in the heart of Sassi, this place offers authenticity, large doses of subtle luxury, and impeccable hospitality of the staff members. It is hard to find accommodation like this - even harder to find one, where hospitality and professionalism of the staff matches the premises. Breakfast is superb, offering large options of top quality local produce. Cleanliness of the rooms and frequency of cleaning is top notch - you even wonder when and how they do it. Very luxurious, yet subtle and cozy. Unmatched setting and surroundings. Huge respect to the vision, hard work, attitude and hospitality of all the staff members. 100/10 would recommend, hope to come back soon.

This hotel is really special. It's wonderful to stay in a cave room while in Matera and to be able to look out of your room onto the Sassi. The breakfast was great and it was fun to use the Roman Thermae pools. Angela at the front desk was the best. She was friendly, welcoming and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and it was an excellent choice for our 15th anniversary!

I liked the old city center area, all the restaurants and shops just a short walk on mostly level ground. It seemed very safe! I would have liked to see the museum but it was a little too far and down a steep hill for a troublesome knee. A little knowledge of Italian and a translation app was helpful. The people would work with you and overall we’re very kind.

Marinagri offers very unique vibe. It is peaceful and very tranquil, you will feel welcome and safe. Policoro is a small city. However it is very cute and people are kind, the weather is great in September. The reason I decided to travel to Marinaagri is sailing in the Ionian Sea. My sailing experience was sensational and I am happy I discovered new destination for my new sailing journeys. The food is amazing I did visited Nemo restaurant, this is very unique place with amazing food choices an first you may think it is a fast food place but I’d you go to Policoro you must try it it is amazing. Seafood is fresh and local and very tasty.

We found Metaponto a peculiar town, but do not regret having visit it. The reason for our visit was that said town is the town in which Pythagoras died. Presumably everyone's travels are individually motivated. In our case the hotel we picked suited best our visit to Metaponto. We definitely recommend the hotel, and the visit to Metaponto, we leave everyone to decide for oneself.

Loved going up to Christ the Redeemer it was a fantastic view of the area.Worth the zigzag drive up . We went into the village and down by the boat harbour for dinner . Had the best ever dessert at 1999 ll Ristorante. The food there was amazing . Loved the beach ,the water felt warm , great for swimming. The only thing we found difficult was parking . It’s easy to find your way around but parking is difficult.

An interesting city for a short visit.

An interesting city for a short visit. A nice Archeological museum (general tours are in Italian exclusively). The city is rich in its theatre but unfortunately, we came out of a season. The historic city centre is situated on the top of a high natural hill; verticals in the city are striking. Therefore, free public elevators are quite ordinary means of transportation.
