The personnel made me feel like home, they were always friendly and eager to help. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable, the bathroom big and the breakfast fresh, delicious, and abundant (I could barely finish my portions). I had to start my day earlier as the planned breakfast, but the staff was kind and made me a lunch box to take away. The restaurant offers a good choice of dinners which I can recommend to attend. The price is above average but it is worth it. They have bicycles that you can borrow to go around the city.

I love the family/staff who are there, from gardeners , room attendant, owners, restaurant staff. They were all so kind, helpful and they gave us a lot of tips on how to enjoy Ischia to the max (airport transfers, best pizza on the island, beach, boat island tour, going around, etc, etc). The room was impeccably clean (hubby only stays in immaculately clean rooms) . Thought it was small at first, but actually was very comfortable size-wise and had a super view of the sea and garden from the balcony. The garden was beautiful with its diverse flora , so well kept, it’s a pleasure to savor the beauty of them all. The pools (one normal with jets , 1 thermal) were perfect for 4 couples to swim at the same time, so sizes are ok. Enough umbrellas and lounge chairs for all to enjoy. Breakfast was consistently good, with more than enough selection , can always order egg dishes as well. Our 5-course dinner on Sunday was with cognilio (famous specialty of Ischia) or fish as main dish , served. We opted for the fish though, so we missed the opportunity to taste the island’s best fish. But, we were more than satisfied with the fish too and pleasantly surprised how great each course was, the presentation and taste! Ambience for dinner at the terrace was also quite romantic .

To be honest it was a all around beautiful place from the staff to the view, location is nice and peaceful if you wish to be close to Napoli and enjoy a more calmer environment. The food is spectacular at the restaurant there and staff is very accommodating.

We absolutely loved everything about this hotel! My wife and I felt very relaxed and happy with our stay. Very welcoming reception staff. The half board was worth every penny with amazing & delicious dinner every night. The pools were beautiful and well maintained with sea water (jets, water bike) & the beach although small very enjoyable. The indoor SPA with 3 thermal pools and steam sauna was excellent. The room are very tastefully furnished, the bed was comfortable, the lighting very good. In the bathroom we found, in addition to the usual bath towels, beach towels, flip-flops and bathrobes. The hotel is full of aesthetics and romantic. The hotel is about a 15 min. drive to Forio, 10 mi. to Negombo Thermal Park and 20 min. to Giardini Poseidon Thermal Park.

The reception staff were amazing, they truly went over and above to make our stay extra special whilst the hotel was obviously very busy with an event. The room was clean, comfortable, and we slept well. The restaurant had some lovely dishes for an evening meal, with an incredible view! Breakfast was good, all options seemed to be high quality. The hot tub on the top floor with panoramic views was particularly special! We would definitely return!

you will struggle to find a more stunning setting than this hotel. The flora and fauna as well as the sea views are breath-taking. we have stayed at this hotel twice now in both June and October and have had wonderful times each time. The pools are stunning, food is excellent and the staff are attentive.

Planning a trip? Get inspired by reviews of cities on Procida Island

No parking.

No parking. Many steps to get to the piazza and port and not pedestrian safe. Not geared to tourists. Shops for local consumption mostly. Ok for a day or two but traffic in and out is terrible and not a good base for exploring the area. I found the restaurants good but expensive.

A beautiful island with a range of personal experiences that made our vist unique. Everyone we met was so friendly and we enjoyed all of our time on the island. We did find the roads very narrow and different to drive with a hire car. Th thermal pools at Poseidon were outstanding. We visited in mid-October and found that the island was in the process of shutting down for the off season. Despite this, we are now missing the fabulous family run restaurants and quiet hotel. Would love to go back and visit again.

+parking, Il breakfast - check in starts at 17 hrs and earlier check in of just 2 hrs involved an extra.Eur 15 .plus shower cubicle not clean and low light in the room. L indirizzo su booking.com is totally different and needs to be amended.

Almost only Italians are in Bacoli, very few international...

Almost only Italians are in Bacoli, very few international tourists, which makes it a special experience. You can just relax and enjoy the sea at several beaches, many of which are free, like Spiaggia del Poggio and Lido Schiacchetiello. There's quite a large supermarket on Via Roma with lots of nice local cheese, meat and fruits & veggies. Everything within Bacoli is walking distance. We used public transport to get there and around, EAV buses run mostly on schedule to reach for instance, Pozzuoli. Pozzuoli may be a better choice to stay if you want to discover the Roman ruins and the islands. There are some things to see and do in Bacoli as well, like visiting the Castle with amazing Roman sculptures and the Piscina Mirabilis is also interesting to see.

There isn't that much to see and so two or three days is all...

There isn't that much to see and so two or three days is all you need. The roads are vertiginous . Make sure you have heard of the film IL POSTINO. Loads of good restaurants but you have to like fish and seafood. Meat is virtually non existent.

We loved the owners of the hotel that we stayed at but as for the town it was a dump with all due respect! It was way out of Naples and access to the beach is impossible without a car, not much affordable transport options in Italy. I would not return to Varcaturo and probably not Italy for that matter. This experience has put us off! The owners of our hotel are the only reason we would consider returning to Italy due to there warm hospitality but sadly wouldn’t stay there again solely due to the location.

I used to live here for 2 years. I like how it is more peaceful than Naples. The restaurants have very good food, especially the pizza a la lenio. I love the markets you have called mercantinos. I love the beaches as well. I don’t like the massive amount of traffic around 10am on Sundays. That’s only in the summer though. All in all I love lago patria.

We loved to visit the Greek/Roman sites at Pozzuoli, Baia ,...

We loved to visit the Greek/Roman sites at Pozzuoli, Baia ,Bacoli and Cuma which were almost empty of tourists.There were a variety of restaurants within walking distance from the property, but it was easy to travel to Pozzuoli by public transport where the restaurants on the front are superb.

One of the best places I've been.

One of the best places I've been. Everything was wonderful from beaches to restaurants to views. We took advantage of the local bus service to get to S. Angelo in 2 directions. The rides were unbelievable. Will hire a scooter next time.

Beautiful coastal area just a few kms. from Pozzuoli and...

Beautiful coastal area just a few kms. from Pozzuoli and easy to get to from Naples if you have a car. There is a train line but only seemed to be a few trains a day, and not sure about bus transport. A car for this area is essential to get the most out of it. We went out and about every day exploring the area, which has some wonderful archaeological sites, some dating back to ancient Greek settlements, that are little-known outside of Italy. Lots of pretty beachside cafes.
