Very friendly staff… we arrived after midnight due to a delayed flight, but this was not a problem. Rooms are very clean and seem quite new and modern to me. Very good breakfast and service! Top hotel!

Clean, beautifully decorated, quiet in good location and very comfortable. Breakfast is offsite in a trattoria owned by same group but very generous portions and made to order - much better than the usual buffet breakfasts. Free public parking nearby. Great value for what you get!

Montepulciano is THE Tuscan hill-town to stay in.
Montepulciano is THE Tuscan hill-town to stay in. It is a bit bigger than its neighbors and is a fun place to wander around in. There's a lovely cafe, Lalma, just up the street from Casa degli Orti. There's great art in the town along with wonderful views, and of course, don't forget the wine! Lots of opportunities to taste what Tuscany has to offer. We had a car so we were able to drive to the other hill-towns. Pienza is cute; get some cheese! Montalcino was delightful. The whole area is simply jawdroppingly beautiful!

Beautiful Tuscan town.
Beautiful Tuscan town. But the two main churches are closed on Saturdays and Sundays, if you can believe it... Better stay in Peinza or Montepulciano. But Sant'Antimo Abbey, 10 kms away, is a world wonder.

THE GOOD :
The location is great, close to the Val D'orcia.
THE GOOD :
The location is great, close to the Val D'orcia. The amenities of this property are good, rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious enough. The bathroom etc was great. Breakfast was also pretty good, though they could improve their bread selections.
THE NOT GOOD :
Staff is difficult to get hold of and are not very helpful/friendly. This is compounded by the fact that (if you speak English), they are not very conversant in English.
THE BAD :
We had specifically requested rooms to be close by but instead we were given rooms that were a 5 mins walk through hallways, elevators and literally on opposite ends of the property.

Castiglione d’Orcia is a charming little village nestled in the heart of Val d’Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its extraordinary natural beauty and historical significance. This delightful destination is perfect for those looking to explore the Tuscan countryside, savor local cuisine, and immerse themselves in a tranquil pace of life.
Castiglione d’Orcia offers the ideal setting for relaxation, discovering cultural and natural heritage, and enjoying an authentic Tuscan atmosphere. Despite its small size, the village's strategic location provides easy access to major towns and attractions such as Pienza, Montepulciano, and Siena.

Bagno Vignoni is a small, beautiful town.
Bagno Vignoni is a small, beautiful town. The first time we experience the thermal pool instead the Market Square. Around there are small restaurants with typica Tuscany dishes and typical Italian service kindness. Nearby there are thermal lakes and a lot of wineries with a good San Giovese vine.

Monticchiello is a great hill top village to stay overnight when travelling through Tuscany. Beautifully quiet in the evening but with a number of restaurants to choose from to suit all tastes. We ate at Osteria Fra Paolino which was exceptional and proved to be the best meal of the 2 weeks we spent travelling from Rome through Tuscany to Florence.

The hot springs are in a natural setting and they are amazing - much less crowded than Saturnia. There are more hot springs at an old destroyed marble mine which the workers made into pools - locals go there and they are easy to access

Great wine, great food, amazing views.
Great wine, great food, amazing views. Not a ton of sites to see but there are a ton of wine cellars and restaurants to linger in. If you want amazing sites go to Rome or Florence, Tuscany and the hill towns are really about the people, food & wine experience. It does NOT disappoint. It is worth the extra effort to get to, just make sure to stay at least 2 nights.
