Everything was very clean and comfortable but the best thing about Air Furano was the couple who run it, Gareth and Rikka. They couldn’t be better hosts and made our stay special. The breakfast in the morning was one of the best meals of our trip.

We loved this hotel. In just 2 nights it felt like home to us. It has a really nice atmosphere. The free teas & snacks in the lounge were lovely too. The beds were super comfy, especially for us foreigners. It is also super close to the ski fields - sadly, because it was so late in the season, the closest one was closed, but the next one is only a 5 min drive and has lovely staff too.

Loved the charm of this place. We arrived later in the evening and the chalets shuttle met us at the bus stop. The breakfast was fantastic and the rooms were clean and spacious. Would totally stay here again.

The staffs were attentive from the start. We requested specially for the breakfast to not include meat and alcohol as our dietary requirement and they accommodated the request for our large group (we are 10 people). The breakfast set was delicious! It's a family friendly resort. We were able to stay and share the futon with our small kids. I'm grateful that they gave us 1st floor room as we have elderly parents who has bad knees. The onsen were huge and very nice, they swap the onsen night and morning between men and women so we get to enjoy both of it. Felt our skin really glow up after nice dip in it. I love that they provided tote bag with needed amenities for onsen trip, not all onsen provided this. The location is superb, right in the middle of happenings in Furano. Just a short walk to the left side of the hotel there's a huge supermarket and nice Nepali restaurant. I have to mention the view from the room was incredible. For the services provided it was super value for the price paid. I highly recommended this place if you coming with family.

We arrive after a long drive during a snow storm and the staff welcomed us with a smile and they showed us the place! It was nice. The place seems all new and with a lot of facilities, we used the room for the skis and boots. For sure we'll come back

Very nice and homey. Lovely breakfast prepared by the sweetest Japanese Martha Stewart. Would have been perfect if the lavenders were already in bloom. But it was too early for that. Anyway it was a quiet a peaceful retreat and we were well rested

The hotel lobby atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The concierge and front desk staff were very polite and helpful. The rooms were clean and surprisingly big! We had the view of the forest - it was wonderful to look at when it snowed. The ski area is just beneath the hotel which made it very convenient to access. The buffet breakfast was generally good - slight variations of food options but could be better given that this is a big hotel and for what we paid for accommodation (we had better buffet breakfasts at other smaller hotels in other towns/cities). We had difficulty finding a parking space (could it be due to the Dec peak period?) and perhaps we were unfamiliar with driving during the winter season - it was pretty challenging to manoeuvre and park with all the ice sludge, sleet and snow in the carpark. Overall, it was still a very great and wonderful experience and stay!

We like the log home which is very cosy and spacious.

We like the log home which is very cosy and spacious. Our kids are very enjoy the snow outside the house. We skipped one itiernary to stay more hours there. We would like to come back here again soon. We cooked dinner and breakfast which everyone are so happy. Hope to stay more nights!!!

Stay in Kami-furano for fast access to the Tokachi Mountain...

Stay in Kami-furano for fast access to the Tokachi Mountain Range in Daisetsuzan National Park, whether for hiking or for backcountry skiing or snowboarding. The town also has a good selection of restaurants; we only tried one during our stay, but it was excellent and reasonably priced.

It was unexpectedly great!

It was unexpectedly great! It was a quaint little town with lots of restaurants and little shops to explore. If you have a car, you can travel beyond the 5 km range for more touristy spots, but just having a bike means you can already explore a cheese factory, go up the cable car, a nearby winery, a horse riding school and a couple of flower farms. So, it's a great place for people who cannot get hold of a rental car. It's accessible via the JR line from the New Chitose Airport, which makes this place a good stopping point for a bit of nature and culture. I stayed for 2 nights, and could have stayed longer while enjoying the changing season.

It was end of November we stayed in the area of Kamifurano. The first snow of the season just dropped It is a wonderful area if you want to go into the mountains. It has open air onsen, hotel onsen and plenty of restaurants and coffee bars. Two we want mention, as they were exceding expectations. Kaneko coffebeans and Furano Cafe. Worth a visit!!

We've been twice to Furano.

We've been twice to Furano. It's a wonderfully friendly and relaxed resort. While it's not large by European or American standards, it features fabulously dry powder snow, and great restaurant options at the foot of the slopes and in the adjacent town. The fact that it is small also makes it easy to meet up with friends.
