The view was amazing, the dinner was very varied and tasty, it had around 10 different small dishes with different types of Japanese foods. We also went to onsen that was clean and enjoyable. The shuttle bus was very convenient - hotel offering an evening ride to see the Torii gate lighten up and the we went there again in the morning after checking out and once we were done sightseeing hotel delivered our luggage to the port and we went back to mainland.

Amazing ryokan with a stunning view. We could see the gate and the temple from both our room and during dinner/breakfast. The rooms are nice, big, and cozy. The meals are just incredible. We were really full after the dinner (about 10 courses). The staff was kind and helpful. They were able to prepare vegan meals for one of us. Also, they brought our luggage directly to the ferry station (they also have a pick-up service, if needed). The private onsen is amazing. I hope to come back one day!

I arranged a special surprise with the hotel to propose to my girlfriend, initially disguised as a birthday gift with a room upgrade and room service dinner. This review is thus not representative for the room linked to this booking. However, I want to specifically praise the hotel staff, with a specific shout-out to Katagiri. They went above and beyond to make this an unforgettable experience and I cannot thank them enough! The view from the seaside rooms is amazing and the beds are very comfy, the traditional dinner is on point and the staff is just wonderful.

I loved everything about the place! The rooms and facilities were all amazing: they were super clean, comfortable and the whole house just looks great. Even has a private bath availble for booking, which i enjoyed a lot. The hosts were really friendly and i had a fantastic time just chatting with them and the other guest! Their cat Miku is so cute too. If i'm ever back in Miyajima i'll be sure to stay here again, thank you :)

The location is very convenient— just across the port. The amenities are great. The onsen is amazing. The staff are very nice and thoughtful. The best way to experience Japan. We highly recommend the place. Miyajima at night is much better without thousands of turists and the dinner served by the hotel it is a masterpiece of colors and tastes.

The main reasson to visit was the Itsukushima Shrine but there was plenty of other shrines and temples to visit. The ropeway to Mt, Misen was great. The hike down not so much (not a trail, mainly steps - hard on the knees.

Miyajima was great for walking around and doing the ropeway to the top. A lot of little eateries and street food- good if you like seafood. Scenic with the giant Tori gate and shrines, woods, deer walking around. Miyajima was one of my favorite spots on our trip to Japan.

It does get busy during the day when lots of tourists come over by ferry for the day however we hired bikes and managed to stay clear of the crowds for the most part. The Island becomes very quite in the evening which is perfect, I would advise that you book a restaurant as lots of the island closes around 5-6pm so anything that is open later gets booked up. We were very lucky to just get the last free table on two occasions. Also the deer wandering around especially in the dusk and evening before al the ferries drop off are enchanting, however they are not like the deer in Nara park and there are lots of signs that remind people not to feed or bother the deer, not everyone follows these rules which is disappointing.
