We had an unforgettable experience at Gabaa Resort and Spa in Habarana! From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the beauty of the surrounding nature—lush greenery, serene landscapes, and the peaceful sounds of wildlife. What made my stay truly special, though, was the warmth and hospitality of the staff. They were incredibly welcoming, always making sure I felt at home and comfortable. By far the best accomodation we had during our stay in Sri Lanka. The hotel is actually more a villa with only few rooms available, which makes it very private and calm. Everything about this place is stunning and one feels that every detail was thoughtfully designed. The hosts Siri and Chathurika were very friendly and made our stay something really special. Siri even gave us a private tour through the temples and ruins of Anuradhapura. It was all topped off by the fantastic food they prepared for us. Staying at Arachchi was one of the highlights of our trip, and would come back to Sri Lanka just to stay some more days :) we cannot recommend this place enough!

We had a fantastic stay at Saplumar Lodge! The location is perfect, making it easy to explore the area. Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The highlight of our stay was the incredible hospitality of our host, Shan. He was always smiling, approachable, and genuinely eager to assist us. His helpful recommendations and local insights made our trip even better. Whether we needed advice on places to visit or just a friendly chat, Shan was always there to help. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great accommodation with outstanding service! Would definitely stay here again.

We were so lucky to be the first people stay at the beautiful mango garden villa! It was such an amazing place to stay as a group of friends but would be perfect for a family too. The owners were so lovely, generous and welcoming throughout our entire stay. The room is very clean, has a modern bathroom and the beds were so comfy (With a fan and AC!). Really good location for walking into habarana or a short tiki tik ride into Sigiriya. The balcony is a beautiful space to relax, watch the squirrels in the trees and admire the handy work of Dammika. The family helped us get around the local areas and cooked a beautiful breakfast and even a 5 curry dinner! (Which was soooo yummy❤️). If you are looking for a place to relax and feel at home after a busy day exploring and walking I would definitely recommend this villa and I hope I can come back myself!

The welcome and the service that we received were exceptional - unrivalled by any other hotel visited during three weeks in Sri Lanka. The staff were genuinely happy that we were their guest, and they were not afraid to show it. From the moment we arrived, they did everything and more to make sure that we were comfortable. The central courtyard garden lent the hotel an idyllic cosy community feel and allowed us to feel nicely isolated from the bustle of the streets outside. The pool area was scenic, the pool functional, and there were a bunch of sun beds from which to capture the sun as it moved above the tree line. One of us fell ill during our stay. The manager offered to take us to the hospital, assisted us there, and the entire team attended to us tirelessly day after day - including complimentary afternoon tea in our room. Bicycles were available to borrow to get around and see the various fascinating heritage sites - and we'd really recommend using them! Breakfast was predominantly Euro-continental, incredibly generous, and tastier than anything else we had in Sri Lanka outside of 5* hotels. Dinner was tasty too. The menu was diverse and competitively priced. Table service was exquisite. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and secure. The location was great - perfectly situated for exploring town, set back from the road so as to be silent at night, and with quick access to the lake on foot. A beautiful gaggle of peacocks graces the gardens. The hotel arranged our onward travel to Trincomalee in a comfortable car at a competitive price.

Our stay at this hotel was an excellent experience. The service was incredibly friendly and warm-hearted, making us feel welcome from the very beginning. A special mention goes to Hashani at the reception, whose service really stood out, though the rest of the staff were also lovely and accommodating. Our room was clean and spacious, with a unique touch—a beautiful outdoor shower creatively integrated into the space. We were especially grateful for the unexpected room upgrade, which was a wonderful surprise and made our stay even more memorable. The buffet was excellent, both for breakfast and dinner, offering a wide variety of options to suit different tastes. Everything was fresh and well-prepared, making dining at the hotel a delight. The location was good, especially when traveling with a driver. It made it easy to explore the surrounding areas without any hassle. Overall, our stay was fantastic, and we left with great memories. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others and hope to visit again in the future!

I recently stayed at The triangle hotel and was impressed with my overall experience. The hotel’s location was convenient, with several local attractions and dining options within walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable, with modern furnishings and a cozy bed that made for a restful stay. The housekeeping staff did a great job of maintaining the cleanliness throughout my visit. The bathroom was well-equipped with fresh towels and quality toiletries. The front desk staff were friendly and accommodating, quickly addressing any requests or concerns I had. I appreciated the complimentary Wi-Fi and the option to enjoy a delicious breakfast each morning. One minor downside was the noise level from the street, which could be a bit disruptive at times. However, it didn’t detract significantly from my overall experience. For the price, I felt that The triangle hotel offered good value. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area and would certainly consider staying here again.

Wow, this is the place to stay in Anuradhapura! Super clean, big comfy bed with mosquito net and 5 (!) sockets (under the desk), excellent breakfast, very clean pool — small, but big enough to make some laps or cool down in. Nice outdoor area to chill. The host and her family were extremely knowledgeable and helpful with whatever you wanted to know and giving those extra tips where and how to go around, not only in Anuradhapura, but elsewhere in Sri Lanka as well. They also speak good English. If I ever go to Anuradhapura, I will definitely stay here again. It's located a small ride — about 6 minutes — from city center, in a quiet area. This is my 2nd time here. I like the many large glass windows that offer view of the trees, branches and leaves. It gives a feeling of living in the tree and a sense of peace with the birds tweeting and the occasional chipmunk scampering by. The chef is a good cook and whipped up excellent dishes nicely presented and served by the waiters. Sandun cleans the room well. The bed is comfortable. The whole premises is well-kept. As ususal, the host, Mr. Ajith, was welcoming. The manager Samee was always concerned and asking about the welfare of the guests.

Location close to Minneriya and Sigiriya next to the lake was great. If you are lucky you can even see elephants from there. But for sure there sre monkeys, lizards and a lot of different birds. During my stay, the property owner made several inappropriate and judgmental comments about my affordability and my decision to share meals with my mother, who is disabled. His behaviour was rude and discriminatory. After I posted my review describing my disappointment, the owner contacted me directly on my personal mobile number using very abusive and offensive language. This message was completely unacceptable and made me feel unsafe.

Farm Cottage was peaceful and very comfortable. The room was clean and cozy, and the surroundings were quiet and relaxing. The host was friendly and helpful. A perfect place to unwind – I’d definitely stay again!

Not good not fair over change for food n breakfast n vegetarian dinner They said 5000/=rupees change nearly 8000/= with out breakfast Over charge for water bottles Tea and breakfast Every thing not reasonable Please consider

We loved our Homestay chez Olivia .

We loved our Homestay chez Olivia . Lovely couple very hospitable and helpful. Hired bikes which was wonderful to go see all the Stupa sites etc. beautiful area & lovely garden. Birdlife was fabulous. Highly recommend

Good location to visit the National parks where Elephants roam. Take a short drive to Ritigala and be amazed at the heritage site of a millenia old large forest monastery. Dine at the Ran Rasa restaurant for one of the best Chicken Koththus you will taste..

Anuradhapura is an amazing and spiritual place.

Anuradhapura is an amazing and spiritual place. It's different from the other sites in Sri Lanka because it still attracts so many pilgrims to its religious sites. It's a good idea to dedicate one day to visiting the active pilgrimage sites and the next to the historical sites, for which you need a ticket. Remember to cover up with long trousers and sleeves and don't forget your socks, because the ground is really hot and you have to take off your shoes everywhere. If you have an extra day, you can also return to the sites at night, which is when pilgrims light candles. Make sure you've got the Pick Me app installed and look out for a tuk tuk driver called Nisha. He's absolutely amazing: great driver, kind and attentive and with good English. For dinner, the atmospheric Hotel Shalini is a good bet. The Seedevi family restaurant is another good place. If you want to have a beer, they can put you in a separate 'family' room, or you can go to the tiny 'pub' next door.

Beautiful jungle surrounds. Lots of activities. Safari doesn't tell you about all the extra costs involved. Entry fee big. Tip for animal spotter. The Harabana lake cruise is brilliant. No motor just a gentle paddle, allowing you get up close to wildlife
