We were very happy to stay in this beautiful hotel with a great staff. From check-in to check-out, everything was fine. The rooms are modern and offer a fantastic view. The area is very nice and clean. The food at the Welligama Kitchen is definitely a highlight, and we enjoyed the excellent food and service a lot. We would like to express a special thank you to our personal "assistant," Nishadi; she was very kind and helpful. We would also like to thank the great kitchen and service team, with a special mention to Nazmi, Thiruna, and Fayaz. They truly made a difference by doing a fantastic job in making us feel very welcome and providing a high-end service. In conclusion, our stay was nothing short of exceptional. The combination of outstanding service, luxurious accommodations, and culinary delights made it a truly memorable experience. + Enrico and his enitre team were incredibly friendly and always happy to help with any request - we couldn’t have been more grateful. They go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible and provide excellent tips and recommendations. + Our room was beautifully furnished, bright, modern, and very clean. Even without using the AC, the temperature was always comfortable, with a fan that provided exactly the right level of refreshment. + The property also features a stunning rooftop with a sea view, where a restaurant will be opening (which I am sure will be just as great as the hotel)!

The staff at the nine are incredible, every single person we met. I wish we had asked for more names, but every single person was AMAZING. So caring and attentive. Myself and my partner Haran, will be back and we will bring our Family and Friends. The location is amazing, the staff amazing, the food amazing. This place deserves the success it will get because everyone works so hard to make it special. We had regular sightings of Monkeys and Peacocks which just made it more special. Well done guys on such an amazing place and for giving us such special memories, see you next year!

Such a unique beautiful calming location. The family who run the hideaway are all attentive, generous and go above and beyond to make sure you have a memorable stay. I was able to swim in the river each day and eat delicious home cooked meals 3 times a day. I had not planned to visit the rainforest or this area of Sri Lanka and I ended up pivoting to find some solace for my final three nights and I'm so glad I did. Thank you to the property owners for looking after me. I'd love to stay again when I return to Sri Lanka.

Really comfortable and clean rooms, great garden out the front which you coil relax in. The host was very kind and accommodating- we only stayed there one night after staying somewhere else in hiriketiya for 3 nights but this was much better value for money! Would 100% recommend

We loved our stay at LakRaj! We were there with a 1 year old and the corner, sea view room was perfect for us. The staff was exceptional, helping us out whenever we needed and even watched our baby sometimes while we ate breakfast :) The cleaning crew also did a great job. We actually had to extend our stay one day, since we enjoyed it that much. There’s plenty restaurants within walking distance, and you can even walk to a grocery store that’s about 15 min away. There’s also lots of eager tuk tuk drivers that will happily drive you. Highly recommend going for a swim with giant sea turtles that’s just past Dr. House (also a great venue for food and drinks).

The staff was exceptional! We stayed in several hotels in Sri lanka and we were always very well received, but this was definitely the kindest and most generous staff we met. On the last day, we had our flight in the evening and, not only they allowed us to enjoy the rest of the day by the pool, as they also provided us an empty room to shower before our flight and offered us a bottle of water for the trip to the airport- small gestures that make a difference. The space in general is really cozy and pleasant; you can see turtles swimming by the cost on the beach right in front if the resort.

Nice hotel with a stunning location, right on the beach. Wonderful to walk in the morning on the beach and watch the sunrise with ocean and waves. Rooms are spacious, clean and tidy, staff is very nice and attentive and the overall look of the hotel is beautiful. They have a nice big pool and great cocktails. Food is also good. Would definitely recommend it.

Also which was additional bounus the accomodatin provided a clothes hourse where to dry clothes. Also lovely view every morning with a family of monkeys visiting nearby tree. Very comfy bed.

Mirissa in my opinion has a completely different vibe to the other beach areas I stayed at being Hiriketiyah and Unawatuna. While it does have attractions like Coconut Hill, it lacks the intimacy, character and ambience of the above mentioned beach areas and for that reason I would advise a shorter stay to experience Mirissa. One night was adequate for me.

Matara isn't a big town so it is relatively quick to get from A to B. The beach is beautiful. But there aren't that many restaurants in in the town. The Matara Rest House near the fort had good food and drinks and is one of the most worth it dining options nearby. Lemon is also a good option. There are restaurants closer to the touristy spots but those are on the pricier side. snorkeling with turtles is popular in Matara.

Lovely quiet beach -large - next to its much smaller and busier little sister Hiriketiya You can have the best of both worlds if you stay in Dikwella as it is only a km walk ( pleasant ) to Hiriketiya Sunbeds are free if you if you buy a drink We particularly liked Freedom Place at far end by the trees

Midigama is a great little surf culture town, good food, beaches and surf awesome Ate at the Corner, Cafe Pleasure, Surfing Wombats, Mamas Restaraunt, Gg Francis Seafood , Lazy Right Restaraunt, got fresh pastries of the little Nakery Tuk Tuk Truck, Coconuts and Cold Beers on the beach from Smiley , had a awesome time

The food was possibly the best that we had throughout Sri Lanka. the accommodation was lovely - roomy, great view, good beds, mosquito nets, cool feature such as an outside shower. the staff were so lovely and helpful. Really great stay.

Talalla beach is clean and not crowded like many on the...

Talalla beach is clean and not crowded like many on the South coast of Sri Lanka. Relax all day under the sun and take a dip in to the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Not really a surfing beach but the right hand end in front of Talalla Retreat is safe for swimming. Friendly locals and a small supermarket nearby. Ate at all the local restaurants - they were all excellent, especially Manju Cinnamon Hut.

The hotel management are not good to deal with and I would not recommend this place at all. It looks pretty on the outside but full of problems and poor design, unsafe and unhygienic aspects that are a major concern. Hiring hot water shower that has no safety option even when it is not on high hot water setting, it can burn. The deluxe room we were offered has no windows at all and a dingy hole with no natural light or ventilation but advertised as having an outdoor dining room. It is falsely advertised to mislead people an we refused to stay in the room and had a mattress in the sea view room for which they charged us half the room rate when we didn’t even have a ton, just a mattress an they failed to even provide a towel. Their service is horrendous - stay away from this place and don’t be misled by the pretty photos like we’re. Even beach there not safe to swim and too far from Mirissa main beach so there is really nothing going for this place except the superficial looks.
