The hotel is newly opened, with beautifully renovated rooms. It’s close to Weligama beach for surfing and walking distance from the magnificent jungle beach for swimming. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. WiFi is good. Breakfast was delicious. And the two rescued kittens stole my heart.

The design of this place is incredible!!! Botique feel to it. Great atmosphere! By the ocean, can listen to the waves all night! Beautiful scenery around the swimming pool. Great breakfast served with care and high aestetics! Nice attentive staff! They let us check in early and enjoy the scenic pool area!

Beautifully furnished room with a nice bathroom that offers a great rain shower with hot water. The swimming pool is very inviting and the staff was exceptionally helpful, very accommodating, and friendly. We enjoyed the rich breakfast very much. The location is close to the beach. I can really recommend this place highly.

Mirissa in my opinion has a completely different vibe to the...

Mirissa in my opinion has a completely different vibe to the other beach areas I stayed at being Hiriketiyah and Unawatuna. While it does have attractions like Coconut Hill, it lacks the intimacy, character and ambience of the above mentioned beach areas and for that reason I would advise a shorter stay to experience Mirissa. One night was adequate for me.

Matara isn't a big town so it is relatively quick to get...

Matara isn't a big town so it is relatively quick to get from A to B. The beach is beautiful. But there aren't that many restaurants in in the town. The Matara Rest House near the fort had good food and drinks and is one of the most worth it dining options nearby. Lemon is also a good option. There are restaurants closer to the touristy spots but those are on the pricier side. snorkeling with turtles is popular in Matara.

Hiriketiya Beach is a small, horseshoe-shaped bay with beautiful clear water, gentle rolling waves and scenic palm-fringed views. It’s known for its laid-back, beach-town feel — perfect for surf, chill days on the sand, and casual hangouts. It’s popular with surfers (beginners & intermediates) — especially during the dry season (Nov–Apr) when the waves are consistent and easier to ride. Outside of surf culture, many visitors simply relax, swim, or enjoy the scenery. Good for: Surfing Chill in beach Small cafés any kind of food, yoga, and relaxing stays Sunset views

Lovely quiet beach -large - next to its much smaller and busier little sister Hiriketiya You can have the best of both worlds if you stay in Dikwella as it is only a km walk ( pleasant ) to Hiriketiya Sunbeds are free if you if you buy a drink We particularly liked Freedom Place at far end by the trees

Midigama is a great little surf culture town, good food, beaches and surf awesome Ate at the Corner, Cafe Pleasure, Surfing Wombats, Mamas Restaraunt, Gg Francis Seafood , Lazy Right Restaraunt, got fresh pastries of the little Nakery Tuk Tuk Truck, Coconuts and Cold Beers on the beach from Smiley , had a awesome time

The food was possibly the best that we had throughout Sri Lanka. the accommodation was lovely - roomy, great view, good beds, mosquito nets, cool feature such as an outside shower. the staff were so lovely and helpful. Really great stay.

Talalla beach is clean and not crowded like many on the...

Talalla beach is clean and not crowded like many on the South coast of Sri Lanka. Relax all day under the sun and take a dip in to the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Not really a surfing beach but the right hand end in front of Talalla Retreat is safe for swimming. Friendly locals and a small supermarket nearby. Ate at all the local restaurants - they were all excellent, especially Manju Cinnamon Hut.

The hotel management are not good to deal with and I would not recommend this place at all. It looks pretty on the outside but full of problems and poor design, unsafe and unhygienic aspects that are a major concern. Hiring hot water shower that has no safety option even when it is not on high hot water setting, it can burn. The deluxe room we were offered has no windows at all and a dingy hole with no natural light or ventilation but advertised as having an outdoor dining room. It is falsely advertised to mislead people an we refused to stay in the room and had a mattress in the sea view room for which they charged us half the room rate when we didn’t even have a ton, just a mattress an they failed to even provide a towel. Their service is horrendous - stay away from this place and don’t be misled by the pretty photos like we’re. Even beach there not safe to swim and too far from Mirissa main beach so there is really nothing going for this place except the superficial looks.
