A true paradise – the perfect place to relax! Our stay at this villa was absolutely exceptional. From the very first moment, we felt completely at home – the hosts were incredibly kind and attentive. One day I wasn’t feeling well, and the owner personally brought me medicine. Thanks to his care, I felt better right away – such kindness truly touched me. The villa itself is stunning – surrounded by nature, with a private and very clean pool that was perfect for relaxing at any time of day. The room and bathroom were pure luxury: spacious, beautifully designed, and spotless. The daily breakfasts were delicious, and the peaceful atmosphere of the place allowed us to truly unwind – body and soul. This is one of those places you simply don’t want to leave. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a calm, comfortable, and beautiful stay in Sri Lanka.

Leels safari cottage, a pocket of paradise. we spontaneously booked our stay here for 2 nights in hopes to do a safari. We’ve been travelling Sri Lanka for over a month now and I can say this has been the nicest place we have stayed at. The pictures are exactly like the place which we were so pleased about, the room its self is beautiful, comfortable beds, beautiful layout and decoration with the blessing of air con and a fan. They also supply mosquito nets, this was the first place we weren’t bitten once! As for the bathroom it’s wonderful, full of plants with an rainforest vibe. It’s all so clean and well stocked with a kettle, wardrobe, shelf’s and great mirrors. The attention to detail is amazing you can tell a lot of love and hard work has been put into this place. The lighting is lovely giving it a cosy feel. We had breakfast included and added on dinner for both nights as the food was too good! Cooked by the loveliest ladies who do everything they can to make sure you’re happy. So much selection for both breakfast and dinner really yummy and enjoyable. It’s the perfect place to relax but also seek adventure. We woke up early one morning to go for a run, the area is lovely everybody smiles and says hello. and the views are really beautiful with thriving nature. We went to an elephant orphanage near by, luckily they know people for transport etc and Leel suggested this activity for us, we didn’t know about this place prior our visit! But so glad we went it was amazing! Our second day was Safari day, we were delighted that Leel himself is one of the greatest safari tour drivers, so we set off early in the morning and embarked on our safari around Udawalawe. I know it will be one of my favourite memories we are really grateful for Leel and his dedication to make sure we had the best time and see as many beautiful animals as possible! Wow! Its new, its clean, its great! Would definately come back. Rooms were huge and comfy. Pool was clean and just perfect. Its very close to the entrance to the park, you can see elefants right just out from the hotel (even better experience than visiting the park hahah). We even had dinner there - it was ok. Plus great staff very helpful and welcoming.

We loved our stay here, Milan was so friendly and nice to chat with. We had the whole place to ourselves (by luck), it was so peaceful there. The room was very well equipped with a working tv with English channels, great aircon and shower. The balcony on the river was lovely, we saw all kinds of birds and even a turtle in the river (or tortoise?) We did the full day 12 hour safari for 49,000 (2 people) organised by Milan. We had a great day, it was long and hot but worth it. Milan got us a good taxi to Tangalle the next day too. 10/10 recommend, it really felt like a proper safari lodge stay!!

Beautifully situated, among the jungle and a garden embedded in it. We arrived quite late, but despite this they waited for us and offered us dinner! The caretaker of the facility is a very nice gentleman who cares a lot about the well-being of his guests. The guesthouse is decorated in a uniform style that matches the surroundings. Every detail is thought out. The rooms are spotlessly clean, always with a view of the jungle (some, like ours, also have a balcony). In the morning we had a delicious breakfast - fruit and a chosen form of egg. It was a sufficient portion for us. In addition, coffee / tea / juice. It was wonderful for us to wake up in such surroundings and start the day like this. Although the monkeys jumped on the roof of our building, it was an additional attraction for us. I would like to visit such places more often. Hidden gems with excellent service.

This wasn't our first stay, so we obviouly like this place. The manager Anand couldn't have been kinder. He looked after us like super VIPs. He was everywhere making sure that we were fine. A big thank you to him. We forgot a swim suit and he offered to send it by courier service to our next hotel, which he did. The hotel itself is small and not for everyone. The rooms needs a complete rework - they don't do this place justice. They are in a poor state. But the location is incredible and I hope, this will never change - please never cut ANY of the trees! This is the biggest asset- the jungle and all its noises, the beautiful light filtering through the canopy.

A unique boutique hotel in a unique location. We stayed for three days, it was three days of absolute peace, relaxation and fantastic views. There are only mountains, rice fields and wildlife around. Giant squirrels came to us for breakfast while we tasted the best tea in the world. A wonderful, courteous, friendly team that treats guests like beloved relatives. They are ready to respond to any whim (guys, we miss you already). To get to the most stunning views, the hotel provides you with transportation. And there is also a Spa where you can get treatments in complete unity with nature. In short, we have loved this place forever.

We loved this place and found it completely by accident - I am so glad we did! Beautiful scenic views and very delicious food. Dulara Silva was the loveliest man and made our stay so fun. Organised loads of activists for us (trekking, kayaking, zip lining and waterfalls) He made sure we were always smiling. All the staff were incredible- nothing was too much trouble. Thank you!

Very friendly staff gave a warm welcome. The welcome coffee was the best time of my life. Not only that, I was surprised because the pool was so clean and beautiful. Ratnapura is a fascinating town with few concessions for the western tourist. If you have an interest in the real, gritty Sri Lanka (particularly if the gem industry has appeal) then this town will afford endless stimulation. If, on the other hand you are looking for a holiday resort with restaurants and attractions don't bother - stick to the west coast.

Let me first say how accomodating the staff was. The staff at Glenrock ensured that we were well taken care and went above and beyond with extras to ensure we were happy.  Lodging: The lodging was excellent, I slept very well in their comfortable bed and the ceiling fan with the AC was perfect.  Environment: The area and grounds offer a spectacular view from above and below, we did not want to leave, heard a few monkeys on our roof during the night. Food: The dinner was good and the breakfast was plentiful, they did not leave our side and ensured the breakfast on the river was done perfectly. They went out of their way to make us happy. Overall: My team,my wife and I loved "The Glenrock", we will stay again and stay longer next time. Thank you to the entire team

A walk into the small town of Embilipitya was always an...

A walk into the small town of Embilipitya was always an interesting trip into real sri lankan life. Cafe's cake shops, restaurants etc - and banks/ATMs - in fact not much that you don't need. A 30mins drive to the beach going south and a 15 in drive to the national park for the elephants. To say nothing of the peacocks constantly gracing Illukawella's gardens.

Nothing much to see in Rakwana town.

Nothing much to see in Rakwana town. But the surrounding mountain areas are breathtaking. Avoid the Rakwana-Deniyaya 10-bends road as it is under heavy construction work and very difficult to travel by a car.

Amazing experience!

Amazing experience! It's a hidden gem in Sri Lanka and will cater for every type of need. You love nature but dont want to hike, this is the place to go. You want to hike in the Singharaja forest? Well this is the best place to stay. You just want to be with your loved one? Nothing can beat this place. The bunglow itself is an art in the middle of the forest, packed with memories from the past but also with all modern day amenities to make you comfortable. Above all, the staffs are exceptionally good and will ensure you have personalised experience all the time. They will know yoir need even before you notice. I woild like to thank Lasith for his exceptionally hospitality. I have been to many places but never found someone like him.

This place is one of my favorites in Sri Lanka! It was such a beautiful surprise! Calm area, very nice outdoor setting, the room was very spacious (as was the bathroom!) So let's talk details: - Food: Amazing! Home cooked food, with candlelight and the sounds of nature! - Safari: He was a very good company during my trip! He gave me some tips, was very flexible with my requests. - Helpfulness: Arranged a taxi to my next destination, Overall, it was totally worth it, you will really enjoy it! !

We were only passing by for some business matters.

We were only passing by for some business matters. But holiday wise nothing really much to see unless you're an agri culture enthusiast. Pretty close to Udawalawa National Park, so it's a good stop over for someone who wants to do Udawalawa Safari.

Where to start... We had a wonderful stay! Our host Ravidu is a very kind man, he welcomed me and my girlfriend into his family. We will forever be grateful for the special memories created there. His wife cooked us delicious traditional Sri Lankan food at night. Thank you very much ☺️ The bed is extremely comfortable and the room is spacious and very clean. It was nice to have a place to hang out on the terrace. There are many beautiful plants around the property that give it a jungle feel. We saw many tropical birds around. I 100% recommend booking a safari through Ravidu, he partners with a guide with many years of experience. The safari guide was knowledgeable about the animals and different species we saw on the safari. He was very respectful of the wildlife and drove slowly through the park unlike other jeeps..!!
