- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 404 reviewsOur stay at this lodge was nothing short of a fairy tale come to life. We had an absolutely enchanting experience here during our honeymoon! Nestled amidst lush greenery, it was the perfect romantic retreat. Waking up to the gentle symphony of birdsong every morning added a touch of magic to our stay. The villas were beyond excellent – spacious, elegantly designed, and with all the amenities one could wish for. But what truly made our stay exceptional was the warmth and hospitality of the staff. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel like family, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. After a disappointing experience at another accommodation in the north, we decided to return to this lodge for a few additional nights. And we're so glad we did! The staff welcomed us back with open arms and even upgraded us to another villa at the same price as our initial one. Their generosity and commitment to guest satisfaction truly set them apart. We also want to give a special shoutout to Allen, the cab driver recommended by the lodge. His insights and recommendations transformed each trip around the island into a personalized adventure. His knowledge of the area and friendly demeanor made us feel like we were exploring with a trusted friend rather than just a driver. You can reach him out at Emt: 57331114 or Orange: 57588868. Overall, our time at this lodge exceeded all expectations. We couldn't have asked for a more idyllic setting or attentive service. It's a place we'll always hold dear in our hearts and eagerly recommend to anyone seeking a truly unforgettable getaway.Guest review byCorneliaRomania
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very good - What previous guests thought, 255 reviewsI will rate the service 10/10. The staffs provide such an amazing service that for the first time of my life, I didn't have a complain, my husband was astonished too by the service. The staff was very nice to my parents, to myself, the reason Im stating this is because we are Mauritian and sometime because of being local, most hotel staffs tends to forget that we are paying for the same service as a foreign tourist and lack to give the local the proper service. I paid for one night and extend for a second night. Value for money. The place is clean and they really accommodate for your needs. The staffs at the restaurant will watch every step, clean your table or plate, pull the chair for you to sit, without asking, and help you to carry plates. The Spa was also a wonderful experience. I took the beach front view, is where you get the best view of the resto, beachGuest review byTaylorAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,151 reviewsBeautiful beach, just for the hotel ( its very small, so the beach does not get crowded) enough sun beds and umbrellas, supermarket in walking distance. dinner was simple but okay. We prefered to cook ( we had a room with kitchen, which we wanted and loved) the hotel is very very nice, not for people who enjoy resort life - this is for relaxing a few days... great view of the Morne mountain from the beach, amazing sunsets, good coctails at the beach, dinner was 1250 per person, simple buffet, but nice. They had trips and activities but we didn't try them.Guest review bykláraCzech Republic

Everybody smiles, food are good, there are many options for the high quality activitiea and resting your mind is so easy. They even provided a privacy net around our villa as we asked. Water activities are free, coast is long and calm, they take care of personal needs. I definitely reccomend this place and will be back for sure.Guest review byEnesTurkey
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 917 reviewsThis is an amazing place, especially for those who love nature. You feel like living in the botanic garden between an amazing mountain and the ocean. Even though it is quite a large resort, you feel very private, there are little swimming pools between every few houses. The personnel is very polite, at the same time not too humble. Attentive, but not intrusive.Guest review byMareksLatvia
- From US$514.33 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 510 reviewsThe beach location is very nice, hotel and staff were great. Hotel more on the colonial style rather than modern but kept im great condition. Very cozy with pool layouts and waterfalls. It was great to have a heated pool as weather was unpredictable so regardless we were able to enjoy the pool. Overall, food was also great, lobster menu was a highlight 😍Guest review byDoraSwitzerland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.9Good - What previous guests thought, 1,071 reviewsThe staff was really helpful and welcoming. They made all the effort to make our honeymoon special, preparing and arrange the room for the first night with prosecco and flowers. Credit to spend on the many activities available. Great rooftop infinity pool, confy room, tastefully decorated. They made our honeymoon literally unforgettable.Guest review byRinoUnited Kingdom

Walking on the beach was fun, and the water allowed easy swimming even for the not-so-strong swimmer. The food carts added restaurant variety. We had good meals at Bouganvillea and Chez Pepe, but also enjoyed eating in and watching the sunset. Lovely shopping, interesting people, and the public bus service worked for us. However, it was interesting that the same trip was free outbound and then cost 100 rupees (3 people) for the return trip (with no tickets issued).Guest review byDivyaSouth Africa - 10.0

Tu beach is just amazing, the color of the water is impressive, in the public beach you have to possibility to see the see turtles. The place is a piece of paradise. Definitely worth to go and to spend some time there. I would recommend an hotel next to the le Morne beach most of the hotel do not have the possibility to eat or rent the sun bed just daily. Also I would recommend the experience of swimming with the dolphins that is offered almost everywhere.Guest review byAnnaItaly - 8.0

We liked the area close to the Riviere Noire Reserve and it was convenient for the quieter beaches on the south coast. We recommend a guided tour of the Ebony Forest Reserve. We had a fascinating day out with a very knowledgeable guide and saw a lot of birdlife; the views out to sea are also stunning. Be warned: driving in Mauritius is not easy, even with satnav! We got lost several times, especially around Port Louis. If you choose to go to Port Louis, we recommend using the local bus. There is a bus stop two minutes' walk from the apartment (shortly before London Way supermarket). You can pick up a bus at about 7.30 am and return on a 119 bus at 30 minutes past the hour from Immigration Square near the waterfront of Port Louis. If you want to eat out, the Happy Rajah restaurant on the main road serves good value Indian food. The fish thali is particularly tasty.Guest review byVirginiaItaly - 10.0

It's a properly rustic paradise area, away from the more fabricated hotel resorts. Lots of locals who know one another and it feels safe, if a little rough around the edges. It has its own cultural and geographical charm that seems to differentiate it from other parts of Mauritius. Lots of places to eat, a good supermarket - seems expensive for the area, but I think this is quite common. Good offers of boat hire to get over to Ile aux Benitiers, which is well worth it. Close proximity to the lovely Morne peninsular and Black River Gorges National Park and surrounds.Guest review byPaulUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Sure La Preneuse is the nearest beach, though If you're looking for the best beaches around, take that trip to Le Morne beach, it's worth it. We went to the only Thai restaurant in the area,'Ousaporn', indeed an oasis in that small town, great Deco, felt right, the staffs were admirable, the food was succulent but portion were quite small disproportionately over-priced . A day at the beach at Flic en flac is worth the tour, watch the sun set into the deep sea, then hit one of the restaurant around the area.Guest review byYogeshSpain - 10.0

this is amazing place, the view is breathtaking, the chalet is spacious, very calm, the food is satisfying and the staff is very supportive and helping. it is ideal for a short stay as if you would like to do more tours the location is bit far from everything and very challenging to reach. the best is to stay there and visit the nearby places around Chamarel.Guest review byDragicaUnited Arab Emirates - 10.0

Flic'en'Flac is the best place to stay on Mauritius, especially if you're visiting Mauritius in July. North was windy, south rainy but west side just perfect. It is a nice, vaste sandy beach with pine trees and palm trees, nice hotels and resorts, bars, restaurants and street food.Guest review byAndrijaCroatia - 2.0
Financial exploitation is the title of this hotel.
Financial exploitation is the title of this hotel. Financial exploitation defines the taxi drivers. Financial exploitation dominates the boat rental services. Financial exploitation extends even to the zoo. Exploitation is the main theme, and as a city, it offers nothing enjoyable.Guest review byMohamed Zaher - 10.0

lovely shopping complexes, boutiques, restaurants, and supermarket if you are self catering. Great place to tour around, for a heli-copter ride in the south to see the underwater waterfall, and go to the Ebony ForestGuest review byCelia ColemanSouth Africa - 6.0
La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly.
La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly. Le Morne (which is very close) is the only place nearby with a nice beach, but it is widely occupied by luxury hotels. another problem with La Gaulette is that it is not usable as a base for visiting Mauritius, becasue is far away from all main attractions except 7 color earth and Black River falls.Guest review byUgoBItaly
