What a hidden gem! This boutique house really exceeded my expectations. The service was amazing—staff were super kind and helpful. The bathroom was huge, clean, and came stocked with everything from shampoo to snacks, which was such a thoughtful touch. I loved the free welcome drink when I arrived, and they even offer free cocktails in the evening. The vibe is super chill—there’s a terrace where you can relax with a drink, and downstairs there’s a bar and restaurant that made going out effortless.

A Tropical Jewel

Langkawi, as known as the jewel of Kedah, is the largest island in an archipelagio of 104 islands in the Andaman Sea. And a gem it certainly is, with lush scenery ranging from rice fields and rainforests to leaning palms on tropical beaches.

Of course, it’s the beaches that draw most visitors. Housing a good number of Langkawi hotels, Patai Cenang has the longest and most developed beach, and good nightlife. Neighbouring Pantai Tengah is more peaceful and a popular choice for families.

Langkawi Airport in the west is closest to Padang Matsirat. Just around the coast is the more secluded Burau Bay. The Telaga Tujuh waterfalls are nearby, and just north of its curving beach is the Langkawi Cable Car which travels into the heart of the rainforest, where the Sky Bridge provides amazing views.

Another sleepy beach is the northern Jalan Datai, home to a crocodile park. To the west Tanjung Rhu has one of the most scenic beaches, with bulbous, offshore islands reminiscent of many an action movie.

On the south of this duty-free island is the capital Kuah, whose most recognisable feature is the large eagle statue overlooking its harbour towards the islands beyond. This town has the largest concentration of apartments, motels and hotels in Langkawi on Booking.com.

My husband and I visited Ambong Ambong during our honeymoon in Malaysia. We chose blindly and had no idea what we were getting into, but the accommodation at Ambong completely captivated us. It was only during our stay that we got to know the philosophy of the resort, which completely won us over. It is a peaceful oasis where you feel part of nature and the beautiful Malaysian jungle. The resort offers a space to reboot your mind and realize the beauty of the moment. This is complemented by great staff who are helpful, kind and always helpful. They also prepared a beautiful honeymoon decoration for our room. In addition to amazing massages, we also enjoyed breakfast in a vegan restaurant (although we are not vegetarians, the breakfasts were absolutely fabulous), yoga, soundhealing treatments and a romantic dinner in an attached restaurant with a sunset view. We definitely recommend Ambong to you, we recommend it to our friends and we would love to come back here one day.

Amazing hotel in the most amazing area of Langkawi. So quiet and pieceful, it is the best hotel and area if you want to relax and enjoy the best pool area and the best beach. Honestly there are no words to describe the beauty of it. Just be mindfull that is quite secudled so if you are looking for a lot of activities and restaurants you will need to have a minimun of 10/15 min ride. The staff is super friendly as well and the rooms are really good.

Perfect location, quiet but within walking distancee (15-25 minutes) to the center of Cenang, or we took a cheap cab. The whole island is accessible within a 30 min drive, since we are not used to drive on the left side we preferred not to rent a scooter but take taxis which where all very friendly and helpful. Very nice and sympathetic place, very clean, very friendly staff

If you like developed, over-priced food, shopping and malls, Pantai Cenang is for you with the watersports, jetskis and parascending. If you're looking for beautiful sands and turquiose waters, calm and serene beaches then not for you at all!

Kuah is just about decent but i would prefer the Cenang Beach area . If you can't get a hotel there, Kuah should be your next choice. The Island is small so you can get around in under 30 minutes to any spot of the island.

You have the cable cars and surrounding area that takes a day to Explore and the crocodile park which is really good. Water falls and beaches. I would recommend staying at least 3 nights at this end of the island and 3 at the opposite end in kuha. Make sure to do the mangrove tour with a private boat haggle price.

Beautiful beach and mangroves. We did hte Mangrove ride and island hopping. Not easy to get around, its remote and on the northern most tip of the island, should have own vehicle. Not many restaurants around the area, only resorts.

Pantai Cenang is a really happening place with lots of things to see and buy and lovely eating places as well. Just be prepared during the rainy season as the rain can come suddenly but it doesn't stay long so just find shelter somewhere and you'll be fine.

Kuah was nice, the locals were very friendly and we found some restaurants that served great food, however, our accommodation could have been better. There were things in the apartment that did not work and we had a booking for 5 adults but there were only two coffee cups, four chairs. Lock on the balcony door didn't work and neither did the lock on bedroom 1 window. Also, it took a couple of days for the wi-fi to work correctly.

The staff were lovely and very welcoming.

The staff were lovely and very welcoming. The Thai Restaurant was amazing - getting to the Sky Cab was just walking distance, that's worth a visit. I did a Mangrove Tour which was pretty good... I went on my own but a group tour might have been just as good.

Great beach, not to many people, good to watch the sunset.

Great beach, not to many people, good to watch the sunset. But lots of it is privat and your only allowed to walk along the shore in these parts, which is kinda sad and stupid as you wouldnt disturb anyone by staying there. but the public places are great too so not too much of a let down.
