The hosts Miguel and Martin are good people. They were accommodating and very helpful. I am not fluent in Portuguese, which is the country’s language, but they supported me with most of my needs like getting a taxi, suggesting tourist attractions and ordering food etc. I really enjoyed my stay and I look forward to coming again.

The king room was surprisingly larger than any room I’ve ever stayed in! The beds are super comfort and the room delightful to stay in after a long day. Staff are extremely friendly and speak enough English to make communication so much easier. Really loved the stay. The breakfast is continental and yummy.

We stayed three nights and fell in love with this place. the rooms are spacious, modern and very clean. The massive bathroom with a view was an excellent bonus. The location worked perfectly for us, as we had our own transport and we are familiar with Maputo. talking distance from a few restaurants. the rest are withing a longer walk or very short drive. Close to shopping malls, the typical tourist things in Maputo and a walk across the road take you to the beach (more like just a viewing space. The view is amazing. highly recommended.

The staff at the hotel are so kind and attentive, truly a wonderful experience! I had to change my travel dates multiple times and the staff was incredibly accommodating, as well as helping with taxis and luggage storage. The breakfast is excellent and the rooms were very spacious and clean. I would stay at Hotel Cardoso again in a heartbeat!

The location of the hotel is in the city center so the surroundings don't look quite appealing. The hotel itself is very amazing though, when inside. The staff was super helpful and kind. From receptionist to cleaner, EVERYONE was just willing to help and attend to us!!! Also love the fact that the Check out time wasn't too early in the morning.

The view from the room (11th floor) was excellent of the Cathedral, the Katembe bridge and the city. The unit was clean and we were upgraded at no additional charge. The buffet breakfast was exceptional and provided for the entire families differing tastes and requests.

I enjoyed the place, especially considering that it has chalets and not double storey building. You can still interact with nature. I also enjoyed that there is a gym so I could train before going for work. Everything within the vicinity. The food was also nice too!!

It looks like the new president is really fixing some things...

It looks like the new president is really fixing some things. The police and traffic officers are no longer asking for money or acting greedily. It used to be a nightmare to travel there because of police and traffic stops. I was once arrested just for taking a picture and forced to pay R2,000. It looked like the money went straight to the chief police officer because they kept going back to him. They were extremely greedy. I even thought of staying in the police cell until court opened on Monday, but I realised that the court system at the time was also unfair and greedy. Now things seem different. Visiting Mozambique has become a much better experience. The police are professional, focused on safety, and issue legitimate fines instead of trying to make money. I’ve also noticed more small B&Bs and hotels opening in smaller cities, which is a very positive development.

The place needs spring cleaning.EVERYTHING WAS DIRTY AND UNACCEPTABLE. DIRTY BLOOD AND HAIR ON BEDDING, HOLE IN SHEET,bedding was not changed,bath and room not mopped. staff were unfriendly and unwilling to help,even curtains were stained. poor and dirty quality. never stay here.

The Villa Martins is a wonderful hotel, and great value for...

The Villa Martins is a wonderful hotel, and great value for money. The access to the island is via a private boat ferry ride from a small harbour in Maputo - it is an hours ride across to the island. This is NOT your traditional beach on your doorstep venue, although a short ride in a small motorized boat to a nearby nice sandy beach is available free of charge from the hotel. The snorekelling is great and the beach clean. A visit to the central village on the island, some 6 kms away is available for a fee - being fetched at the hotel by a guide, who takes you there in an open safari vehicle. The village has some great bars and restaurants with a nice local island vibe. Great fun!

From the day I booked till I moved in everything was seamlessly and the maid was too friendly even though there was a language barrier there and there. I really enjoyed my stay and they cleaned the apartment everyday.

Very quiet and peaceful place, great to be amongst nature.

Very quiet and peaceful place, great to be amongst nature. Staff and food were great, as were the rooms which were great value for money. Best part was the trip they organised to the area for snorkelling, looked after so well, organising a beach picnic, sun chairs and shade etc. as well as helping find the best places to snorkel and spot dolphins and flamingoes.

It was easy to get around Maputo.

It was easy to get around Maputo. Highlights, Ktembe Bridge,Port, Fish Market, you can buy and get them prepare your seafood just outside. We enjoyed that.Many little restuarants outside the market, Museum, Cathedral, Baira Mall. Beach accross the mall street Train station.
