The breakfast and evening buffet - high quality food. Fresh food, excellent barbacue, salads, and their home-made ice cream. Good service by people who worked at the property. Friendly bartenders. Extraordinary sundowner with the guide from Desert Grace - our guide was highly skilled on the animals, friendly and chill person.

Staff was absolutely wonderful and super helpful. Dinner was superb and very healthy. Eating under the stars in absolute quiet and tranquility was an amazing experience!

Tomas welcomes us with a big smile,refreshing cold towers and cold juices, he went beyond to make us feel like home!
Breakfast was above expectations and a really good coffee.
The bedroom is big and the shower is just what you need after 3 hours driving in the desert.

Solitaire is a space with a very unique energy. We loved stepping into a film and having the feeling of going back in time. Our room was excellent, the bed was super comfortable and everything was clean. The dining room was very welcoming, the food is prepared with great care and the portions are generous! Breakfast is buffet and very tasty too. The staff is wonderful, this was our first night after arriving in Namibia and feeling at home in such a remote place is priceless. They were always smiling and asking if everything was ok and seemed genuinely concerned about our well-being. A special thank you to Smiley, a promising young boy, with a wide smile capable of enchanting us with his way of talking.

Oh and please try the apple pie from the bakery next door, it is as famous as it is delicious! :)

The best desert camp I’ve stayed in. Everything was perfect; the location was beautiful, our camp accommodation itself was pristinely clean, spacious and comfortable. The cooking facility adds a nice touch to the place.
The WiFi is only available in the bar. But, that was ok for us. Wi-Fi worked really well in there.
We also had the buffet dinner at Sossusvlei lodge one night. The outdoor setting of the dinner hall was just stunning.

I like NWR staff here more than Etosha.
I like NWR staff here more than Etosha. They are naturally friendly and explain detail of the park rules, how to do everthing right.
Dead valley is gorgeous. They are some hidden place near dead valley to see gemsbox on red desert sand. If your rent 4x4 and known how to drive on soft sand, go past the dead valley parking spot, it will have trees for lunch and walk about 1km to see gemsbox walking, eating, sleeping

The room was extremely comfortable and we would have loved to spend more time here. We booked the sunrise drive which was one of the highlights of our trip to Namibia. The sunrise went on forever and our guide was very informative. Surprisingly we were the only ones who chose the option that morning.
The only downside was the restaurant. While the food was OK we had to sit inside next to a large mobile air conditioner. One staff member would move it so it didn’t blow directly on us and another would move it back. It was so strong it kept blowing our plastic water bottle over. A bit more sensitivity would have been welcome.

What a beautiful place my goodness.
What a beautiful place my goodness. So much to do in the area - we would have definitely stayed longer to try out the different activities. Climbing the dunes at Sossusvlei was honestly the best day. It was beautiful and I can’t wait to be back!

We stayed in this location mainly to visit Sossusvlei which is further south. Solitaire itself is a charming but tiny settlement - only a few buildings and a petrol station, however it has an amazing cafe serving "the world's best apple pie" and it was! Solitaire is about a 20 minute drive from Soft Adventure Camp at the Namib Naukluft Lodge.

It was busy but still private enough not to spoil the overnight stay. The staff were very helpful in the shop. It was useful to have the fuel station as well. The supplies in the shop were adequate for the overnight stay and the location was convenient for Sossusvlei. The drive into Sossusvlei was fine but very crowded when we got to Deadvlei. Well worth a visit though.

SOlitair mountain lodge is a beautiful lodge with an incredible setting. they have a beautiful pool and watering hole close by which brings animals in such as zebra and Gemsbok/Oryx. The rooms were comfortable and large and the space is neat and well maintained. friendly staff made it extra easy to check in. We definitelywould stay and extra night at this lodge.
