FAQs about hotels in Veluwe

The Netherlands in a Nutshell

As the green heart of the Netherlands, the Veluwe features typical Dutch landscapes ranging from wetland to woodland to inland sand dunes. It centres on the country’s most popular national park, Hoge Veluwe - a haven for wildlife including birds, deer and wild boar.

As well as offering cycling, horseriding and walking, the 5,400-hectare park houses the excellent Kröller-Müller Museum featuring the world’s 2nd largest Van Gogh collection, and an eclectic sculpture garden. Other Hoge Veluwe museums include the Jachthuis Sint Hubertus, a Kröller family residence designed by Berlage, the architect behind Amsterdam’s Beurs.

Some of the closest Veluwe B&Bs are in Arnhem, well-known for its role in World War II. This green city on the Rhine proudly remembers its past, but also looks to the future with its state-of-the-art GelreDome events venue. To the west is the university town of Wageningen with its beautiful botanical gardens, while neighbouring Ede is situated by a lush forest.

In the north of Veluwe is Harderwijk, a pretty lakefront town with a popular dolphinarium. Monkeys and apes can roam free in Apenheul zoo in Apeldoorn, a city that also boasts a children’s amusement park and the stately palace and landscaped gardens of Het Loo Palace, a former royal residence. It also offers some of the Veluwe hotels with swimming pools on Booking.com.

We stayed at Landgoedhotel Villa Vennendal from October 4-5, 2025, and it was an absolute delight. The hotel's setting is truly magical—nestled right in the heart of the Veluwe forest, surrounded by lush trees, winding paths, and the peaceful embrace of nature. Waking up to birdsong and stepping out for a morning walk through the woods felt like stepping into a fairy tale. The grounds are impeccably maintained, offering that rare sense of tranquility away from the hustle and bustle. Our room was comfortable and spotless, with a cozy, rustic charm that complemented the surroundings perfectly. The breakfast was fresh and bountiful with local touches. The staff were warm and attentive, making us feel right at home. Honestly, I can't think of any downsides—it's a gem for anyone seeking a nature-infused getaway. Highly recommend!

One of the best experiences on booking- highly recommend if you like nature and peace!!! This place is absolutely amazing and when the time came to leave, we extended our stay. Before arrival instructions were excellent and the key with the map were easy to find. The 2 bedroom little house we stayed in was brand new, super clean and comfortable. It is surrounded by forest and the first thing you hear are different kinds of birds. It has huge windows and a very nice sitting area outside so you can enjoy nature rain or shine. In our case, the weather in April was really cold (-2 at night) and having the ability to turn the heat up as much as needed was luxury, and having heated floors was the icing on the cake. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Thank you and we hope to see you again:)

We stayed at De Zanding for a week and were very pleased. The room was clean and comfortable. EuroParcs don't provide towels. The team was wonderful! In one of the days we got locked outside of our rental car. Tess from the reception was very helpful to get us a locksmith, and the security guard stayed with us outside for several hours till the locksmith arrived. De Zanding area is great, lots of stuff to do. The park itself is cute. small pool, a kids playground and restaurants. We mostly traveled in the area and came to sleep mostly.

Excellent park like accomodation, with well kept greenery and big trees well preserved. Despite the density of the houses/cottages, the layout is such that you have privacy. The National Park entry literally across the street. The city of Arnhem is a few km away. Great place for a family vacation.

Nice clean town, plenty of places to eat and drink. The bridge museum is small but interesting. There wasn't much else to do that appealed to us, but we walked to Oosterbeek to see the annual celebrations. I beleive there is a zoo and a few other things but we didn't look for them.

Located in the heart of the Netherlands, Putten is a picturesque gem that offers a delightful blend of historical charm and natural beauty. This tranquil town, with its traditional Dutch architecture and lush green surroundings, provided an authentic and serene Dutch experience. Putten's intimate size and welcoming atmosphere made navigating the town a breeze. With friendly locals always ready to help, we never felt like strangers. The town's quaint shops and restaurants added a unique, rustic charm to our visit, offering a delightful array of local goods and cuisine. The real treasure of Putten, though, lies in its natural beauty. The town is surrounded by lush forests, serene farmlands, and velvety pastures that provided a refreshing break from the city's hustle and bustle. Whether we were exploring the beautiful trails or simply enjoying the views, the stunning landscapes never ceased to impress. One of the highlights of our trip was the city bikes provided at our chalet. They allowed us to explore Putten and its surroundings in a fun and environmentally friendly way. This gave us a new perspective on the town and its scenic surroundings, making our stay even more memorable. In terms of history and culture, Putten didn't disappoint. The Old Church in the center of the town is a must-visit. Its beautiful architecture and serene ambiance made for a worthwhile experience. The town's history, particularly its WWII heritage, added a significant depth to our visit, evoking a sense of reverence and appreciation.

It's on the mainline train route to Arnhem requiring only one change at Ede or two changes (another at Leiden Central). It's beautiful, rural countryside for bicycling and walking with many cafes and eating houses. Lots of history about Operation Market Garden. The reception staff give you little or no information.

The reception staff give you little or no information. The rooms are spread over a large area and we asked to have 2 rooms close by but they were on opposite sides of the site. Be prepared to pay extra over and above the cost of the room, make sure that you book ahead for dinner, breakfast and facility usage. The rooms for me are very dated and could benefit from a refurbishment, the so called room terrace had more weeds than flags. If you have a family then the cost of food and drink at this hotel can sky rocket so please be prepared. The location for us was good and was near to Appeldoorn and Arnhem and you could be quickly onto the motorway network.
