The beds were supercomfy, and the linen was crisp and clean. They have on-site parking and overall one of the best places we have stayed. In comparison to the motels in Sydney and Perth that we have stayed at, this is definitely the best so far, and the price was definitely great value for money. I already told everyone in my family and we will be booking our next stay there again when we go back to Nelson. Thanks to the team at THE BEACHCOMBER for an awesome hassle free stay. 😁

Had a fantastic stone grilled rump steak which I cooked myself at the table in the restaurant.

Nelson is my favorite place to go to.
Nelson is my favorite place to go to. I traveled up from Christchurch to collect a new car and was able to spend the day and night wandering around the city. My go to place is the Cathedral, steeped in history and with stunning really old trees. Lit two candles for my loved ones, gave a donation for the beautiful buildings' upkeep and soak up the spiritual atmosphere. Able to sit on the grass under a Black gum which was huge, relax and enjoy the smell of the pines.
Fabulous food trucks and cafes.
Easy to walk around, just a fabulous place.
I would highly recommend it.

This place was not actually in Stoke but Richmond.
This place was not actually in Stoke but Richmond. However there is a path where you can walk to Stoke in at about 45 minutes. Richmond has many shops and supermarkets. Stoke has two supermarkets and a few shops.

Nelson is a lovely city with great weather (usually).
Nelson is a lovely city with great weather (usually). Seems well set up and well kept for visitors and the community in general. Rubbish bins, seating in the CBD.
Ebus is a great way to get around (especially with a Bee card). Cheap and every 30mins a bus goes somewhere!
City gardens are really pretty and nice for a peaceful stroll though.

Nelson has a lot of speciality stores and a lot of food...
Nelson has a lot of speciality stores and a lot of food options. The Markets in the weekends are not for those looking for a bargain but do support local and NZ made and although some were costly, there was a lot of selection of goodies.
Stoke the Bach Restaurant was staffed with lovely young girls, and the food was excellent and value for money
The Arden Monaco where we stayed has limited room facilities and is not staffed outside of working hours, but the beds are comfortable and with very dark woodwork old paintings and very heavy doors, the facility was well equipped with heat pumps and hot water.
