AustraliaThis place is the ultimate place to stay in the naki. Fantastic friendly staff throughout. Our King room was excellent, great size, fantastic bed , very clean and facilities second to none. Buffet dinner and breakfasts are on offer and as we indulged in the breakfast it was delicious and definitely worth it. Can't comment on buffet dinner as we chose to choose from the bar menu which was Thoroughly enjoyed our stay if coming this way again, we will definitely stay again.👍🏿

- self contained
- rooms are huge
- the bathroom is huge and the kids are always excited when we stay there... no drama during night washing!

So clean & tidy,lovely towels in the bathroom,we had a superior suite.The beds,pillows were sooo comfortable…this unit was so well equipped.We were fortunate to be right beside a very handy laundry room where we washed & dried our clothes for $4 each machine.

The staff was very friedly at all time. All facilities and the cabin were very clean. The view was great, i hab a look directly on the sea. If you sit/eat in front of your cabin you can also see a part of the harbour.

Had the most fabulous 86 year old walking guide from the Museum .
His wealth was immense.
Learnt so much about the early history of New Plymouth particularly the Taranaki Maori.
Loved it .
Will be back.

Typical country town. There was a great coffee shop, vehicle srervicing and farm supply facilities.
We enjoyed our stay there as a staging post for WOMAD in New Plymouth.
The view from the Barbwire Bach across the lake is tranquil and very scenic.

It is a natural beach loved by surfers!
It is a natural beach loved by surfers! Take the kickboard, go directly into the sea, and enjoy the fun of surfing. If you are tired, you can rest on the beach. The sunset is beautiful and not to be missed. But there is no lighting after sunset so be careful walking back to where you parked

Super Market and small businesses appreciated. Convenience of travelling North and South of Waitara to Taranaki historical sites suited our family. Close to the sea a bonus. Managed a little fishing. Play Park great for children.

A little village right on the coastline. South, West coast of the North Island NZ.
Wild beaches, very friendly people, talked to the local fishermen.

Hotel is in central location.
Hotel is in central location. Easy to find if you get lost too. Z Garage gave my latte free as they got the order wrong. Everyone in the town was talkative and friendly. Marbles buffet was the bomb and it was packed. Staff were fabulous. Caretaker beside reserved parking was friendly and gave us directions. Weather was beautiful also.

The journey en route from New Plymouth To Hawera passing the legendary view of Mt Taranaki. We visited the Hawera Museum and it's great experience for the kids on visiting the history of Taranaki.

It was very poor accommodation.
It was very poor accommodation. Not clean before we got there room was very smelly n musky dirty smell. Lots missing from room. Utensils, TV remote, pots, toaster, iron. We couldn’t book anywhere else all booked out a big festival was on in the area. Emergency housing was in the Lodge they were disgustingly dirty (bogens) Dogs inside their hotel room. Their rooms were disgustingly yuk. Not a good experience I would not recommend anyone to stay there. Very poor. Bad Experience.
