It's an amazing and charging hotel in the center of Cusco close to the main square and directly next to restaurants and bars, while still being private and silent. The rooms are big (which is very practical when you travel with a lot of luggage) with huge comfortable beds. The reception stuff was very friendly and helpful, they let us store our luggage while we were on our track to Machu Picchu. We visited in the end of November when the rainy season started and the use of the heaters in the rooms was a great addition! Breakfast was nice, lot of fruits and great coffee! Would definitely recommend and come back.

An outstanding hotel, the best during traveling South America for in total 2 years! An amazing architecture fitting perfectly in Cusco‘s historical neighborhood San Blas with a very nice patio to relax, have a coffee or wine. The rooms are very nice with beautiful antique furniture, bed couldn‘t be more comfortable. The hotel includes the delicious restaurant Piedra y Sal providing a perfect breakfast with multiple options and a nice tiny bar. Amazing Spa-area with high-level massages in beautiful rooms. And still, the by far best about this place is the friendly staff, especially Oscar and his colleagues at the reception, always there for any questions and happy to help with any doubts. Absolutely recommendable!

We had an amazing stay here. This was probably our favourite experience at a hotel in Peru. The location is amazing, just far enough out that it’s nice and quiet but close enough to walk anywhere in ten minutes. The breakfast was so yummy (highly recommend their freshly made fruit salad) and the staff were always so kind and helpful. I would highly recommend this accomodation to anyone coming to Cusco.

Everything was pretty good overall. All email communications with Gustavo were great prior to our stay and during. We originally booked on booking.com at a very high price and kept looking and got a much better deal.....so I'd suggest if you're paying approx $250 USD it's a good deal. Food was great, grounds are immaculate (loved the 🦜 & all the 💐's), pool was nice and cold but great when in the sun for abit! We were there 2 nights/ 3 days for the sole purpose of relaxing and that's sure what we did. As mentioned in prior reviews, we found Peruvian families on site using the facilities and their clothing everywhere by the pool and grounds...maybe lockers should be provided for this. Only 6 lounge chairs by the pool, so not really good in that sense when hotel guests who are paying can't even get access. Also tables to put drinks on would be good (I think I also only saw 1 of those and again occupied by non-hotel guests). It would be nice if they had the theatre in English as well maybe at a different time. We couldn't get the TV to work really nor in English even after the maintenance guy came. We had several mosquitoes in the room upon check in, however was quickly rectified with a call to the desk and a lady came to spray and put plug ins. Woukd have been nice if we had clean chairs outside on the balcony for morning coffee (they were covered in bird poop) so we layed towels down on them as they were a tad tough to get clean. Yolanda at breakfast was exceptional. Went above and beyond for Us. We were also celebrating our Anniversary and they added a little nice touch to Our room upon arrival. We found it very clean, quiet, great food (make sure to save room for the Aranwa Experience desert....it's exceptional and have your phone ready for a video!). We had a pisco sour demonstration and it was awesome as we made our own & then got to consume them. They were delicious!!.

I had the immense pleasure of staying at this charming colonial-style hotel during my recent visit to the city of Cusco. From the moment I crossed its majestic doors, I was embraced by the warm and hospitable atmosphere that characterizes this place. Every corner of the hotel exudes a timeless elegance that harmoniously combines with modern amenities, providing a dreamlike experience. The hotel staff deserves a special mention. Their professionalism and dedication are palpable in every detail, from the impeccable cleanliness of the rooms to the personalized attention in every interaction. Each member of the staff seems to work in perfect harmony, creating an environment of collaboration and excellence that results in a truly memorable experience for guests. I would like to especially thank the reception team, whose cordial and efficient service facilitated my stay from the very first moment. Also, the housekeeping team, whose diligence and meticulousness ensured that each day began in a clean and welcoming environment. Last but not least, the restaurant staff, whose kindness and high-quality cuisine made every meal a true celebration. In summary, my brief stay at this hotel not only met but exceeded all my expectations. I highly recommend this establishment to any traveler seeking a haven of tranquility, luxury, and exceptional service. Daniel & Ewelina ZAPATA

The hotel is beautiful. The charm of the old, with the comfort of the modern rooms. The concierge service was great for the tours and restaurants. Our driver during the transfers was great, as was our guide Hugo! We had an amazing time. The restaurant inside the hotel is great, as well as the one at Monastério (which is also a Belmond across the street). The complimentary mini bar is a great addition and we loved the small surprises/ beauty products in our room. You will see a lot of small details like covers on the water balls or small attentions during the turndown service.

This is one of the most incredible parts of our Peru experience. I had no expectations going in, except to relax in nature. We were really happy with our cottage and nightly fires. The food is outstanding and served by very kind, happy staff. The highlight was birdwatching in the mornings and doing the nature walks with the guide. This hotel is located in an incredible nook inside the mountains that makes you feel wrapped in the Andes. It is truly a magical location. Additionally, our spa services were divine.

City with great historical interest and gateway to Macchu Picchu. Very lively and busy place, easy to navigate for museums, restaurants with local Peruvian food, shops for good souvenirs or just people watching. Some parts are very hilly; cobble stoned pedestrianised areas were tough on the feet. Lots of peddlars selling local products but they do not pester you if you politely say no thanks.

Also, we took a panoramic train from Cusco to Aguas Calientes and its definitely worth the experience. Ollantaytambo is a gem of a town, my favorite so far of the Sacred Valley towns I have stayed in. The historic part of town feels like it must have felt with the Incas were living there in precolonial days. The streets are kept immaculately clean. Everything you might need is within short walking distance but does not intrude on the authenticity of the town. The views of the Inca ruins on all sides take you back in time. I would gladly go back for a longer stay. The constant flow of large tourist vans down the main street can be a bit annoying as they don't seem to belong, but you can avoid this. One great thing about Kamma Guest House is that it is not in the main stream.

Pisac is a great place to acclimatize if you are coming into the highlands from Lima or Amazon basin. It is charming small town with lots of historical interest. Archeological Pisak is well worth spending some time on. If you are looking to acclimatize to higher altitudes, Pisak is a better starting point that Cusco because the altitude is about 1500 ft lower and it is closer to Sacred Valley attractions.

Cusco has a vibrant festive energy.

Cusco has a vibrant festive energy. What once was the capital of the Incan Empire is well worth a few days to explore. On Sundays they have a parade in the Casa De Armas where civil servants gather and are celebrated with Music from marching bands etc. There are quality shops for souvenirs with Alpaca and Baby Alpaca clothing and accessories being the more luxury of options. There is ancient architecture wherever you look.

If you can, see Machu Picchu early in the morn or in the late afternoon for best pics and fewest crowds. Take the bus up to Machu Picchu and then walk the stairs down to Aguas Calientes if you have 2 hours for the trek and strong knees/ankles to manage the stairs. Don't let travel agencies rush you from Cusco/Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu and back to Cusco in one day. Definitely spend the night in Aguas Calientes before or after your visit to Machu Picchu. The town has a lot of character and tremendous beauty. Lots of choices for dining, shopping and spas/massages. We wish we had stayed 2 days!

The Pisac archeological park is very interesting and takes 2 - 4 hours to see. Take the taxi up to the site and consider walking down back to the townsite through the park to see additional ruins. Several good restaurants and coffee shops in Pisac. Easy to walk anywhere in town. Central plaza is a pleasant. Short drive from Cusco, could do as a day trip.
