Richar, Lucrezia and Isabella are very lovely people and very generous hosts. Richar told us about the island and showed us around, Lucrezia’s cooking is truly wonderful and Isabella is a very nice girl, who would play cards with us in the evening.
The rooms are very clean, there is a hot shower and it’s an easy walk from the port of Amantani.
The island itself is so peaceful and tranquil, a perfect rest.
At night the stars are magestic with Milky Way visible with naked eye.
I would highly recommend staying at Richar’s place to experience the magic of the island in its authenticity.
Also, from what I’ve read it is much better for the families who live on the island to book a stay directly with them rather than through an agency.

José Luis and Pilar are great hosts. We spent a wonderful night in their home on Amantani island. Their home is very nice and has a superb view over Titikaka lake. Pilar is an amazing cook and we had a chance to taste her delicious dishes. José Luis and Pilar, thank you very much for the pleasant stay. We truly recommend their company during your stay on Amantani island.

Sophia's house is located very close to Amantani's main square. The rooms overlook a patio and, most importantly, the lake view is heavenly.
Sophia is an incredible person, who will do everything to pamper you and share her culture, especially her delicious cuisine.
A must-do excursion on this peaceful island steeped in history.

Authentic, unique homestay experience. Shower is topped up by Ernesto with water from the spring, warmed by the sun. Immaculate toilets with chamber pots for emergencies! Immerse yourself in Amantani life. Diego was on hand as a tour guide, and with heaps of knowledge, he showed us Amantani. Ilda, his sister, and mum Juana delivered amazing local food, dish after dish of local food. With comfy beds topped with llama blankets, we had an exceptional stay. From sharing English phrases for Quechua with Ernesto to drinking local tea, watching the sunsets, to hiking the local trails, I can not recommend enough.

Isla (island) Amantaní and Taquile are both very remote, about a three hour boat ride from Puno,
But I would highly recommend going for a very unique and traditional experience with a Peruvian family. When you book a tour, they usually take you to both islands, but an overnight with a family on Amantaní. I would recommend two nights because it is far and then you have time to fully relax and enjoy the community!! It was also fun to stay in the home with other travelers, four other people from three different countries in Europe! We hiked to the top of the island for sunset where there is a beautiful memorial/ worship site for Pachamama (Mother Earth). Also, the food prepared in our home was very delicious.😊

This is the most peaceful place on earth.
This is the most peaceful place on earth. The island offers the most sacred experiences. We spent two nights there, eat completely organic food from the garden, our host was amazing. If you want an authentic Lake Titicaca experience, this is it. Their 11 year old son took us to the fountain of youth, the Pachamama and Pachatata temples on top of the mountain. We had a wonderful experience with a local Shaman. This place is well cared for, host and family are the most loving people, sharing their lifestyl with their guest. There are no cars on the island, you walk everywhere. The boat ride to their place was breath taking as it is on the south side of the island, very private and quite.
