11 out 10. Unbelievable good hote. Perfectly clean, amazing food and well maintained scooters available. Located within a cute local village. Very few options of restaurant and pubs but super authentic local environment. Perfect base Camp to discover the Northern part of the Island. We did a day trip to Coron town, but were happy to be back at this nice little and quiet hotel since Coron itself is just too busy and dirty. Would definetly stay there again.

*The location of this Hotel was peaceful and it's in between Coron Proper and Busuanga. *The room that we have was Mountain View, if you are a morning person you'll be able to see the sunrise from your balcony. Take note: all of the rooms have balcony ☺️ *This hotel offers, ♥️Tours (Calamian Island Travel and Tours) and you'll just need to tell the front desk which tour you want to have and they're going to book it for you. ♥️ Massage - for only 750 (15 USD) you can have they're 1 hour massage. Our masseuse was Ms. Joy. ♥️ Food - we availed a room with breakfast (breakfast time 6:00 am to 10 am) they offer American breakfast and Filipino breakfast (silog meals) we have tried everything in the menu so YES every food that they're going to serve was perfect ☺️ ♥️ Motorcycle Rentals - YES they also offer this rentals. 4 hours to 24 hours it's your choice, ranging 400 (8 USD) upto 650 (13 USD) if you need to add fuel I suggest you need to fill up to the nearest gasoline station from the hotel and not to the coron proper. ♥️ Pool - if you just want to relax for a day they have pool upto 5 feet deep. You'll feel that you rented the whole pool because most of the guests are having their tour so you can enjoy it alone 😉 best time to go 4pm. ♥️ STAFFS - THEY ARE SO FRIENDLY AND APPROACHABLE! Super clean room. Comfortable bed. Very good breakfast (good portions). Nice staff. Laundry service for 350 Pesos per load. Airport transfer for 250 Pesos per person. Pool looked very clean aswell, but we didn't use it.

We are family spend 4，staying 4nights at this resort When we first arrive we are a bit shocked because the room doesn’t have hot water But after few nights of staying, hot water is the last thing to be worried about. The people here are very friendly, food in restaurant is good, boat to town is always ready for us, day tour is easily organized through Aileen, and most important- for those who have kids, they have got 2 dogs and 3 puppies to play with the kids, so mum and dad can spent time playing pool and having a drink from the bar (yeah) Overall, the experience is good, and value for money

The staff at the Funny Lion are all incredibly friendly and helpful - service is genuinely 5 star and some of the best I've experienced in the world. We were kindly upgraded to a better room which was amazing, and also meant we could use the second pool right outside the room which was really convenient and a bit quieter. Every meal we had at the Funny Lion was delicious. Rooftop bar was also great for a cocktail or two in the evening.

honestly, this was the best experience we have ever had with a hotel. we are full time travellers and seen and spoken to many hotels - but the staff at Corto del Mar went above and beyond our expectations. not only were they helpful, kind and friendly - but they also packed us breakfast, made sure we woke up for our ferry and gave professional and honest reviews of the possible tours. really the best customer service we have had.

This place was a slam dunk. I have paid substantially more for a lot less than what I found here. Between the nature and the incredible reef, it was more than I expected. The rooms are very clean and well appointed and the food was decent. The real highlight was how amazing the reef was right off the shore. I have never seen more life or variety than here (turtles, cuddle fish, lion fish, sharks, etc...) all within 50 ft!

The staff is very kind, and we had a really good stay. The food was also great, and we enjoyed a calm and comfortable experience. They offer different services, such as kayak rentals, which we tried and really enjoyed. If you’re looking for a peaceful place with beautiful views, we highly recommend staying here. We also woke up very early to watch the sunrise, and the views were absolutely gorgeous.

The wow factor was definitely at Twin Lagoons and Kayangan...

The wow factor was definitely at Twin Lagoons and Kayangan Lake. Loved swimming and snorkelling although coming from Australia, the corals and fish were a bit underwhelming. Plenty of cafes and restaurants in Coron Town. We especially liked the french restaurant Armihan Bistro, Poco Deli (next door to Epic Cafe) and Le Voyage. All catered for Gluten Free meals as well. Tuk Tuks are plentiful and easy to catch. 50 pesos for 2 peoples to take you anywhere within the town boundaries. We also walked to the hilltop lookout Mt Tapayas .. but beware, there's 720 steps to climb to get to the top from the car park!!!

If you're looking for a beautiful tropical island to visit,...

If you're looking for a beautiful tropical island to visit, put this one on your list. It's relatively uncrowded, the people are very pleasant and the vistas are jaw dropping. If you are a diver, and have an interest in WWII, you will find an incredible 11 Japanese wrecks to dive. I'd recommend Pirate Divers, they are very professional and very conservative when it comes to evaluating risks. They also know the wrecks like their second home. Coron is a bustling town with good food and pleasant people, but the beauty of the island is the back country. I liked it enough in December that I'm returning in February. To get around, I'd suggest renting a scooter. If you are new to powered two wheel vehicles stay out of Coron, and pay attention to the roads, there are some surprisingly tight turns. Otherwise, since it is relatively uncrowded you should be fine.

The calamian group of islands of which Coron is part of, is beautiful. And I hope all the measures to keep it pristine and unlittered will be successful always. There are many breathtaking sights. You would need a sizable budget though to be able to enjoy the boat tours which are wonderful. If you have the time, visit Culion. It is historical (a UNESCO site), and while the places to see could do a little tidying up, nevertheless, the history of that place invites reflection and inspires--many heroic people lived on that island. Kudos to the religious who have kept the place going since it was first established. The Culion museum should be your first stop.

I dont know why everyone goes to crowded Coron island while huge wild beautiful Busuanga is near. Its very big island, better to rent a motorbike to discover it. A lot of things to do, islands, giraffes, diving, beaches.

Rooms are spacious, big selection if breakfast, friendly hotel staff. Infinity pool is okay, could have a bit deeper though. The other pool is undergoing refurbishment. Island hoping are a must to do. We ate in the town where they served fresh sea food.I think its called Island boy Grill. Outside the hotel the tricycle ride are ideal to get round Coron town proper for merely 30 pesos.

We liked Busuanga because it was relatively untouched by tourism. Where we stayed at Ocam Ocam there was a rural village community living along the beach. They were friendly and helpful and there was one restobar on the beach. The beach wasn't busy - had a very relaxed feel. It would have been a drive to the nearest town but we liked being away from it all. The beach at Ocam Ocam was gorgeous, though not for swimming as it had a long shallow reef out to the sea. We didn't see a lot of Busuanga as a whole but it felt equally relaxed and rural away from big towns.
